RE: My Toaster

The one i have is really easy to clean, the basket and pan just lifts off so it can all be immersed in water. In fact i usually clean mine while it's still hot before i sit down to eat.

RE: My Toaster

That's nuts.

laugh

RE: My Toaster

Saves money also. Wont take long to recoup your outlay, around £25-£30.

RE: My Toaster

Have you ever been to A&E with 2nd degree burns?...uh oh

RE: My Toaster

Yes, joking aside, theyre a great bit of kitchen kit. Very adaptable, you can even use it as a toaster.laugh

Definately not the kind of kitchen appliance that gets used a couple of time then spends the rest of its days tucked away in a cupboard. In fact, I use mine almost every day.

RE: My Toaster

I've got an air fryer, i'm going to try it with food also.

RE: Does anyone remember the time when CS was a dating site ?

Well now yer know....laugh

RE: Does anyone remember the time when CS was a dating site ?

Yo seem to be under the misapprehension that the forums are the main part of this site. CS has thousands of membrrs and only a small handful use the forums on a regular basis, if at all, maybe less than fifty.

RE: Does anyone remember the time when CS was a dating site ?

I think it's the other way round.

RE: Does anyone remember the time when CS was a dating site ?

What makes you think it's not?

RE: Should everyone trade in their internal combustion engines for All Electric Vehicles?

In some areas almost all rail traffic is electric.

"By 2020, 54% of the network will be electrified with electric trains accounting for 75% of all rail traffic."

RE: Should everyone trade in their internal combustion engines for All Electric Vehicles?

Most m/way services have a one way charging road layout. The only way you could unhook and legally return to collect the caravan would be to leave the services, drive to the next exit, then back along the m/way in the opposite direction to the next junction then drive back to the services. By which time you will have used up precious energy that you will need to tow your caravan to the next services for a repeat performance.laugh

RE: Should everyone trade in their internal combustion engines for All Electric Vehicles?

Try pulling a trailer or caravan with an electric car and see what that does to the distance you can travel on one charge. Caravaning is very popular in the uk but people with caravans are beginning to wish they had never bought an electric car, a caravan, or both. To make matters worse there are virtually no charging points that allow space for a car hooked up to a caravan.
Some things are just not properly thought through it seems.

I'm sticking with my ebike though...yay

RE: Can you find it?

In the uk many comercial vehicles dont have mirrors, rear facing cameras are replacing them and they're small and hardly visible.

RE: What is the point of creating a thread …

Huh?

Anti women threads?

Bitter and frustrated?

What kind of response do you expect from women to anti women threads?

RE: What is the point of creating a thread …

You're making a joke there....aren't you?

Or maybe you didn't notice the irony.

RE: Can you find it?

The reflections of the headlight and in indicator are wrong.

RE: Don't get despondent.......

Just to put a trillion pounds into perspective...lets say you were to physically count out one trillion pound coins and it took on average one second to count each one (it actually would take much longer when you had reached the higher numbers, up to 17 seconds for each number.)
Now, if you were to count 24hours a day it would take a staggering 31,709.8 years to count one trillion pounds.
A trillion really is a big number.

Hi tru....wave

RE: Don't get despondent.......

It would cost £70 trilion to give a million to 70 million, so 70 billion would be nowhere near enough.

RE: Importance of science and spirituality in life.

I have spent quite some time with someone who had a spontaneous awakening. Sometimes 1 to 1 bit mainly in small groups. Sadly he passed away at the age of 96 having spent most of his life passing on his widom to anyone who turned up at his small house in Manchester.....

Not I, Not Other Than I. The life and teachings of Russel Williamd

"Russel Williams is one of the most remarkable enlightened spiritual teachers of our time. After an early life of extreme hardship—leaving school at the age of 11, and becoming an orphan shortly afterwards—he underwent a spiritual awakening at the age of 29. Since the late 1950s, he has been a spiritual teacher, and is still actively teaching now, at the age of 94. Previously, Russel has avoided publicity and never published any writings or transcripts of his talks, preferring to work quietly with small groups. This is the first time any details of his teachings or of his life have appeared in print. This book is partly a record of his teachings, and partly also the story of his extraordinary life. Working with well-known spiritual author Steve Taylor—who has attended Russel’s meetings regularly since the 1990s—Russel has created a profound text which will surely become known as a classic of spiritual literature."

RE: Importance of science and spirituality in life.

That depends what you mean by the divine. As most monotheist religions describe the Divine or God, you can only say that does not exist in Bhuddhism.
But there are forms of gods and demi gods in Buddhist teachings although the are regarded to be existing in different realms, praying to them would be pointless. A person coule practice Buddhism for a lifetime and never give these gods a single thought.
Then there are tantric deities which are reached through rituals, symbolism and yogic practices to evoke experiences that lead to enlightenment.
Another level of being which Bhuddist attempt to achieve through prayer and ritual is that of bodhisattva (enlightened being) through bodhi citta (enlightened mind)
It it totally accepted that none of these states can exist separate from ourselves as it's believed the true nature of things is no phenomenon can exist seaparate from any other. If there were a god, or gods they could not exist as a separate phenomenon......

**"Tantric meditational deities should not be confused with what different mythologies and religions might mean when they speak of gods and goddesses. Here, the deity we choose to identify with represents the essential qualities of the fully awakened experience latent within us. To use the language of psychology, such a deity is an archetype of our own deepest nature, our most profound level of consciousness. In tantra we focus our attention on such an archetypal image and identify with it in order to arouse the deepest, most profound aspects of our being and bring them into our present reality." (Introduction to Tantra: A Vision of Totality , p. 42)

Sometimes theres no time for strategy...wow

RE: Importance of science and spirituality in life.

It's interesting that out of all the religions only Buddhism concurs with many aspects of science. In fact with qiantum physics science is only just catching up with scientific knowledge taught over two thousand uear ago in Buddhism. Also, as in science, Buddhism does not support the idea of a creator.

RE: Importance of science and spirituality in life.

Especially the Catholic Church....

"The Catholic Church murdered and torched its way through entire continents in a way that modern Jihadists could only dream of."

RE: Importance of science and spirituality in life.

That doesnt make it true, it's just a belief held by a minority.
