Upspeak also, that's kind of irritating. It's like turning every statement into a question. Maybe a sign of lack of confidence, almost seeking affirmation for what is said. It's like you will believe me more if I like talk like this.
Dont even get me on the topic of like the overuse of the word like.....
I remember talking to a friend in the pub one night. He's a local coroner, I asked him did he think people die of a broken heart. He said although it's never listed as a cause of death, in his opinion people do die of a broken heart, but it would be recorded as natural causes. He ecplained, so many times, when one of the partners in a very long term relationship dies, the other partner dies quite soon afterwards showing no obvious cause death. He told me, this would be recorded as natural causes, but really they had died of a broken heart, it is very common he told me with a sigh.
A track from Desire, many consider this to be his best album.
Mozambique
"I like to spend some time in Mozambique The sunny sky is aqua blue And all the couples dancing cheek to cheek It's very nice to stay a week or two And maybe fall in love, just me and you."
To love someone and for them to love us as you say, for me amounts to a two way agreement supported by various forms of attachment, or even projections. Respect however does not really need to be reciprocal to be genuine. I believe respect and emotional love can exist separately, one does not depend on the other.
I'm not sure there are levels of respect,, I believe the respect you give to a stranger for their actions or words is the same as the respect you may give to someone who is much closer. To respect is to accept .
The word respect comes from the Latin, re-spectum, which means look again or look more carefully. If we look close enough we will find almost all people can be shown respect one way or another. Just as we find respect for a person, we can also find love for them if we take time to allow it. Hatred and dislike however arise much too easily to those predisposed to such negative emotions and really should always be guarded against.
A haunting song originally written and realeased by Nine Inc Nails. Trent Reznor commented, "when Johnny Cash covers one of your songs, it becomes a Johnny Cash song."
I've never been able to decide which version I prefer, they are both quite different.
He's still putting out amazing stuff and still on The Everlasting Tour, on the road at eighty years young. His 2020 album, Rough and Rowdy Ways was acclaimed as one of his best, and the single taken from it Murder Most Foul, despite being almost seventeen minutes long reached number one in the US Billboard Charts and has provided great discussion amongst fans and followers of contemporary music.....
Will there ever be a more influential and prolific singer-songwriter?
From 1963, and he's still writing masterpieces......
"Then they'll raise their hands Sayin' we'll meet all your demands But we'll shout from the bow your days are numbered And like Pharaoh's tribe They'll be drownded in the tide And like Goliath, they'll be conquered"
