Maybe you are thinking in terms of construcyive criticism, or taking a look realistically at one's own condition and shortcomings; I do not consider that to be negative at all, as it propels people into action sometimes as they realize it's needed. Negativity in the true sense of the word, at least to me, cannot imply anything good.

Remaining positive is so important, because it helps you to remain objective; once you've made up your mind to be negative,......

now that's a place few will manage to pull others out of. So I feel positivity gives things and people a chance.
