By that I mean I am practical; I move on, and no, my new partner will not be paying the price of my past failures. I see him as a new person in my life, deserving of respect and the opportunity to show me who he is and what he feels for me.
Thinking globally, as opposed to nationally; being global as opposed to nationalistic; it's the diffreence between thinking communally and thinking privately and exclusively.
It's human nature to compare and draw conclusions; but it's shaky territory. If the pride comes alone from comparing itself to itself in the past, then, by that definition, we are keeping it politically correct.
At some point both feelings and ideas have got to involve some level of comparison... ... which by nature involves drawing conclusions that one's country is better than others.....?
