Lawnmower, Small Engine advice...

I ruled that out, cause I removed that at the beginning of the season.

Having the "big-end" plugged by that ruthless looking "gudgeon" pin is a scary site!

Makes me clench tightly just thinking about it!

The "Laughing -Shaft"?

Hmmm, never considered that!

Now I understand why she laughed so hard!

If the "Laughing-Shaft" is unharmed, and to keep her from laughing too hard...should I give her a "Laughing-Torque Tool"?

Morning Conrad!

Might I entertain the idea that the "valve seat stretcher", could be used also in the problem solving of the current issue at hand.

Keeping in mind that the Cannibbling-Pin could be an unforeseen additional issue as well!

Good morning everyone.

You have, what sounds like good ideas.

I appreciate each and everyone of you.

Thanks...I will do that anyway...good advise...it will at lest take that out of the equation, if it still won't do right.

Thank you very much!

I will check out your suggestions, to see what happens.

I figured whatever is wrong with one, it should also be...maybe a cure for the other...I know, no guarantee.

No problem...I appreciate your civil reply. I enjoy joking and laughing as much as the next person. This is a serious matter (mowers) to me. It's been a long day here as well, sun is going down here too. Otherwise I might not have said anything, and just laughed it off...maybe it struck a nerve...anyway...appreciate your last comment.

You have a great night there as well...enjoy to the fullest.

I may not be that smart/intelligent on the do's and don't on small engines...but I can assure that I'm not stupid!

Yes I do know the difference you mentioned...and I'm going to assume that you made that comment as a joke or to be funny, at my expense...so be it...no problem, I enjoy a good laugh most of the time.

And BTW...the water part was really way out in left field.
No, water does not apply the the issue at hand with the question about the mowers.

#1...I haven't changed the oil or air filter...I know now...I need to do that (if it ain't too late).

#2...I haven't hit anything that I am aware of...dunno

Thanks for your input...I hope yours will be OK as well!

No...and I realize now...I should have. But I have used the push mower already this summer (today being the 3rd use).

But I have, I hope, learned my lesson.

I think after reading some of these replies and suggestions... I just may have to turn in my computer experiences, and get me some tools, a pair old coveralls and hang me a sign on a "shade tree" somewhere!

No sir...I haven't. But it's weird, it seems like Deja vue all over again...from the experience of the previous mower (riding).

OK, Conrad...you have a great day over there...

Writing your suggestion down now.

crying crying crying

Lawnmower, Small Engine advice...

Well as far as the gas...this is the 3rd time this year I have used it, with no problem. As a matter of fact...just went and purchased fresh gas this morning.

Cut most of the yard with it this morning, all was fine... took an hour break, returned to finish...and that is when the problems started...as if all of a sudden.

Come to think of it...that was basically how the riding mower did 2 years ago...worked fine, shut down for a few minute break...and when I went to finish...it started the issues I mentioned.

Makes me think that there is a pattern here somewhere. So, whatever fixes one may just fix the other as well.

Thanks for your input. cheers

Lawnmower, Small Engine advice...

Thanks...you have given me some additional things to think about and consider.

Really? hmmmmm...I'll write it down as a possible!

Thanks

Lawnmower, Small Engine advice...

Sorry about the "lingo"!

"Not as much spunk" = doesn't seem to have the power as solid before

"bogs down" = appears not to have too much torque

Thanks for your suggestions.

Lawnmower, Small Engine advice...

Thanks...I'll write that one down...

OK...I know this is not a general forum on mechanics, but with all of the intelligence on here...there might be at least one of you that has the experience to advise me on something.

I have 2 mowers...one riding and one self-propelled push mower.
The riding mower showed these systems 1st, 2 years ago...so I parked it. I did change the spark plug...afterwords, same issue.

I'll get to the issue in a moment.

Now, after using the push mower (this afternoon) it has the same issue as the other one...(what are the chances on that, wow) anyway, I have just changed the spark plug in it as well...and, you guessed it...still same issue.

Now the systems/issue (for both):

1...Both will crank...but not with as much "spunk" as before.

2...Both seem to want to and does "bog down" when I attempt to cut any amount of grass.

3...Both, while idling, appears to be rough running, no smoothness to either one.

Now, am I going to have to go buy another mower...or is there a simple solution to either of these with the same symptom?

My experience is in computers, not mechanics or small-engines ... other than changing out a plug...or minor stuff.
