RE: not-thinking

We all 'worry' about that.

RE: not-thinking

That's kind of right...the cow will observe, and just accept.

RE: not-thinking

You don't have to think to accept what is.

RE: SHOW TIME - BRIDGES - Buddy Blackwelder Memorial Comp.

I wouldn't stake my life on that bit of info to be honest. It was told to me by a friend who used to row the ferry boat across the Loch before the bridge was built. The bridge now saves a long journey around the loch through Kinlochleven many miles at the far end of the loch.
Mind you when I used to know him in Manchester, (he now lives in Ballachulish) he was fond of the odd tall story, or two.

Yes, it's you....sit up straight!!!

RE: SHOW TIME - BRIDGES - Buddy Blackwelder Memorial Comp.

Did you know that when they constructed the Ballachulish Bridge, they built it from both sides of Loch Leven to meet in the middle, only to find it didn't quite meet up, it was about two inches askew....mumbling

RE: Does more education lead to less religion???

"They" have done the right thing.

AMEN....laugh

RE: BEST Climate in the world!!!

Uganda has a wonderful climate. Although it's almost on the equator, it's elevation (4000ft above sea level) keeps it warm without the excessively high temps you would associate with similar equatorial countries.

The mosquitoes seem to love it anyway...laugh

Rail and footbridge over the Mawddach Estuary North Wales.

The start of a wonderful bike ride.

RE: Religious people are...

But it would make a great fairy tale...idea

RE: Religious people are...

Why are you trying to avoid what the bible says by bringing in more recent studies. I havent had a chance to read it yet.

For now we are discussing the fact that in the bible the earth was re populated by 8 people.....can you explain how they managed that?[/quote]

With much joy, I would imagine.

Yes...bloody vuvuzelas...mumbling

RE: Religious people are...

Your god?

Any kind of exclusivity is identification with form, and identification with form means ego, no matter how well disguised.

RE: Religious people are...

I think Pat agrees with you...laugh

RE: Who belongs in the Kitchen?

Women of course.

That's why they have smaller feet...so they can get closer to the sink!!!

RE: Religious people are...

The road to spiritual enlightenment for most (very few have reached pure consciousness suddenly,) is a long journey. Starting like a flickering candle in the far distance it grows brighter and clearer as you move towards it, but cannot be shared. Words cannot prove it's existence, just direct you. No more than a signpost pointing towards Paris can give you any indication of what Paris is like, you have to go there for yourself to find out.

One day I may finally reach 'Paris' and my journey will be complete.

RE: Religious people are...

I had to take a double look to check it was actually you who asked this question after all you have said on this thread.

It's the ego that wants proof, or verification, of anything that may dislodge it off it's lofty perch.

Ego cannot transcend into a higher consciousness, therefore proof is unobtainable, and anyway, would merely be words.

RE: Religious people are...

I also can't answer that. But I do know that the words he supposedly spoke have inspired many over the centuries. Nevertheless I do believe he was just an enlightened master and his message was...don't personalize me, don't make me into a form identity. Without a false self to uphold, defend and feed he was more simple, more ordinary than the ordinary man or woman.
There have been many spiritual masters over the centuries, some can hear their message, but for some they cannot hear. Anyone with a strong ego would regard them as insignificant, or more likely, not see them at all.
As for the 'second coming' of Christ, this will be a transformation of human consciousness, not the arrival of some man or woman. The 'shift' is already happening, and it has to be unstoppable, the future of mankind depends on it.

RE: Religious people are...

Why limited? Why did he not make sure the greatest miracle of them all was witnessed by so many, that his divine spirit could not be denied?

Whoever spoke the words credited to him was truly an enlightened person...but a divine spirit? I suspect not.

RE: Religious people are...

And the greatest miracle of them all was witnessed by how many?

Who witnessed his supposed resurrection, how many multitudes?

Sound a bit fishy to me.

RE: what is your recently good moment?

Rafting grade5 rapids on the Nile in Uganda a couple of weeks ago...yay

RE: Religious people are...

You can't 'make' something that's already there...happy place

RE: Would you do a holiday house swap with another CS member?

I don't think Janie was talking about complete strangers.

RE: Religious people are...

The word God is limiting, it implies an entity other than you. God is Being itself...not a being.
