The Queen is Dead...Best ever album?

The Smiths 'The Queen Is Dead' has been named as the Greatest Album of All Time by NME.

A list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time is published in this week's magazine, which is available digitally or on newsstands from today (October 23).

The Smiths' 1986 LP came top of the list, above albums by The Beatles, David Bowie, Pulp, The Stone Roses and Pixies.

It would certainly be in my top ten, which album do you thing deserves the number one spot?

RE: Send an anonymous message to someone.

The call is always there.
No-friend ever loved me thus.
The call helps me glide serenely through life.
Its feather soft touch and serene presence,
Helping spread my wings to fly home,
Home to wholeness, home to peace, home to love.

RE: Send an anonymous message to someone.

Feelings of enthusiasm mean you are near.
Feelings of peace suggest you are with me.
Feelings of knowingness reveal your presence.
Feelings of patience have you by my side.
You are my loyal friend and ally.
To you I entrust my life.

RE: Send an anonymous message to someone.

Doesn't quite work that way. If the mods decide you're history...poof, you're gone. The option of reactivating your profile is no longer an option.
But hopefully this may not be the case and we may soon see him back on here.

thumbs up

RE: Send an anonymous message to someone.

Admin might have other ideas on that.

I've seen people booted for less.

RE: Men with Beard

I used to have a beard, kept my chin warm...laugh

RE: Can't stop thinking about something

There are various strategies for training an errant mind.

One I found quite useful when I had something on my mind that I really needed to put behind me, was whenever my mind wandered onto the subject, I said to my self STOP and even visualized a road stop sign.
I found that eventually after using this method for a while the troubles I had on my mind faded into the background. It really is a simple but useful way of self mind control.

RE: fear of rejection

The OP posted it.

But the op appears to have nothing to do with the thread title.

RE: a song for failed love

A truly beautiful but sad love song...sad flower

"Oh really my dear i can't see what we fear, sat here with ourselves in between us."

RE: Talkative people??

The ability to listen has far more value.

RE: How can one be happy!!!

rohaan makes a great point...acceptance is the key. As long as you resist life rather than embrace it, happiness will evade you. Accept your life situation totally, surrender to life unconditionally. That is not to say if you are displeased with the way things are you shouldn't try to change them for the better, but once you surrender to what is, totally, things suddenly begin to change for the better.

It's a bit like magic...peace

RE: Would a world without religion be a better place???

Nothing wrong with bumping up the odd old thread, but flooding the forums with them is a different matter.

sigh

RE: Would a world without religion be a better place???

Give it a rest...or at least put a limit on it.

doh

RE: Losing weight

Twenty three threads on page one bumped up by the same member, I seem to remember this happening a couple of years ago...same member?

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

We were all separated at birth, I don't think some people ever got over that!

laugh wave

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

Maybe a cultural thing, I don't know of any. But I know quite a few who have left their wives in favour of a fresh relationship.

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

That would suggest that the new relationship wasn't working. Also, how many people dump their partners in favour of another person, married, separated or not?

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

Maybe try reading a different book then.

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

Personally I have no time for the institution of marriage, it's ok for some who need that kind of reassurance, but I believe, what will be will be, regardless of matrimonial status.

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

Best avoided like the plague then, especially if you can't 'own' them one hundred per cent!!!

RE: SEPARATED yet here???

Can I ask why you would ask "an obviously stupid question?"

grin

RE: What book are your reading at the moment?

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari...Robin Sharma.
