It would be good if you gave an example buy that's me being picky..
If you choose a decent person who hopefully has good morals then whatever background they have is outside of them and shouldn't pose an issue.
I.e....if someone came from an abusive househdo growing up but have learnt that that's not right. If someone came from an impoverished background but worked hard to build themselves up from it then how can a background blow up in their face?.
Surely your background is separate from the person you have decided to grow into?
I do believe a man and woman can have a good friendship (while he remains single). However that respectable distance does come when he found a GF....as is the case with one of my male friends. I would still be there for him but I also respect the fact that he has a GF and wouldn't want there to ever be a question about me...
I do find it hard to accept if my BF has an extremely close female friend...call me jealous...but that's not how I would like to have a relationship...always looking over my shoulder...or him with me.
I think the suffering only happens to those lost of their true self. I know people who have known themselves from a very young age and never seem to have had suffering....yet others suffer till the day they die.
Much like M4 said...constantly trying to better myself and look for contentment....and as Mercedes would say just worrying about my own backyard....let others worry about theirs.
I agree with you on that, pride can be an ugly thing....and can burn bridges and leave people out in the cold for no reason other than pride/ego.. Witnessed this first hand growing up and something that still bothers me when I see two people who should be in each others lives but are not due to pride.
Loved everything about it. I'm not a fan of subtitled films...nor films with very little dialogue...but everything about that film I loved...and it's not my usual type.
All of Mel Gibson directed films are a winner in my book...Braveheart and Hacksaw Ridge being another two that are excellent....have yet to see the passion of the Christ but will at some stage.
