With regards immigrants, personally I'm all for them and it has nothing to do with colour which I have never mentioned.

Most of our care workers are European and in my opinion they do an excellent job but are not exactly well paid for the hours they commit to the work.

This thread is not about immigrants anyway. I just responded to someone's post in defence of them.

Seriously speaking we need immigrants as do other countries. Our lower paid jobs in this country such as care work ,hospital workers, hotel workers field labour are mostly covered by immigrants as some Brits are quite happy to be a stay at home giro receiver.

We have had immigrants in this country for centuries as have other countries. It's called diversity. I agree that we have to draw the line somewhere but anyone coming to any country that wants to work and better themselves should at least be given the opportunity. ..J.M.O.

There are loads of unusual profile names on here so why is mine an excuse for insults. It's basically one ignorant person in my opinion and mostly an attention seeker too. He's well known for it so I'm told.

An "expat " is someone who leaves their native country to live elsewhere.

An immigrant is someone that moves from a country to permanently live and settle in another.

Many of them work in Gib and cross over every day. Even as an expat you were supposed to register and have a Residencia . I spent a lot of time backwards and forwards to Cartagena with Brits who couldn't be bothered to learn the language wanting to register at Seguridad Social. Many had feet in both camps and even some claiming benefits from the UK whilst living in Spain.

I find it incredible that the British complain about immigrants in this country yet are happy to be "immigrants" abroad.

I'm inclined to agree with you. In this day and age I just wish people had more understanding of immigrants instead of classing them all as "invaders"

We live in a diverse society nowadays and we should embrace all people that are prepared to work and better themselves.

Thank you Serene. Nothing new on here but just felt the need to try to put things in perspective.I enjoy the camaraderie on here and it keeps me in the loop as to how others feel about certain subjects.
