Have to agree with you on your last comment Blathin. One giant step for mankind springs to mind though not in the context of space travel. Humanity seems to be taking a giant step backwards.
Totally agree Hex. You have to have lived and survived some of the disasters of the past to appreciate your future. Unfortunately some people cannot see further than the end of the nose especially some of the youth of today.
Hope the windmill's still turning and the cat sanctuary is still ok.
Unfortunately the only person to blame for this horrendous mess is Derek Chauvin. Had he been more responsible with the arrest instead of acting like a vigilante ,the World would not have risen up in anger. Our World is a tinderbox and it just needed yet another unnecessary death to fan the flames of hate once again.
Whatever George Floyd's past was he still should have had rights which were denied him.
How sad for you Secret, and for your Mother to be so blind sided by love she overlooked a terrified child.I hope you came out of it well and hope it didn't reflect too much on the upbringing of your own children ,as sometimes this can have a knock on effect and I'm not referring to the beatings.
I was engaged on my 21st Birthday in 1961 but broke it off 6 weeks before the wedding as my future husband was a Mummy's boy. My dad was upset but very understanding as I told him " Dad you visit for afternoon tea on Sunday's I have to live with him for the rest of my life"
My parents divorced during the war when I was 5 and it had a huge affect on me but my Father whom I lived with was extremely proud of me and my achievements and scholarships, and I like to think that he was the person who taught me ethics and manners. He was also a great dancer bless him.
As I know nothing except what you have posted ,may I ask was your Father a bully and was your Mother afraid of him ,as I could never stand by and watch one of my children be physically attacked mercilessly . by a belt. He certainly would not have selected my husband for me either.
I fully understand your feelings Rohaan. Unfortunately there will always be those that continue to thrust their own ideology down people's throats, with no consideration for another's difference of opinion. Brain washing springs to mind Some posts will bring out the anger that has been festering within some people and the pot boils over.
What I find unnecessary is the need to personally insult other posters and when you respond they become holier than thou so to speak . Our World today is full of anger and hate and is teetering on the edge of a precipice, and unless people pull together and stop the division in colour ,race and creed we will inevitably destroy humanity. Our differences matter but our common humanity matters more.
People tend to forget about the small print in the grand scheme of things Bod. I was watching this on T.V. not so very long ago .A terrible tragedy that should never have happened.
Have to agree with your logic. America is in turmoil and until the Democrats find a really strong contender to stand up and be counted nothing will change.
Never had any interest in politics per say .I'm more of a people person and the injustices that I see in this World of ours. I embrace life , and have no prejudices [ except Elton John of course ] love a good debate, but unfortunately because I'm honest enough to admit my age and not ashamed to put a piccie up, people use me for target practice.
We'll draw a line in the sand and shake hands shall we.
Forgot to mention why I clicked on the profile. I wanted to send a private message to tell you to get off my case but unable to due to it being locked.
Funny thing is you looked at my profile the last time you were on here a few weeks ago under another profile.Did you forget that peek.? I might be old but certainly not dim and have a great memory..
