Not only patronising but thick as well. Me a socialist You know nothing about me yet feel that you are entitled to stick labels on me.
Branson thought he was going to open up travel into space a few years back stating he would have achieved it within 6 months. Entrepreneur he may be but he should consider the welfare of his staff above everything as he has stated.https://www.inc.com/oscar-raymundo/richard-branson-companies-should-put-employees-first.html
Did you even bother to read my post re many businesses closing down. Thought not.
I'm for the average person trying to make a living such as the businesses suffering under floods and now hit yet again by Covid19 .
Get a grip Tom and look at the bigger picture or in my case the smaller businesses with no backing behind them.
People like Branson are self funded. He won't lose his home or suffer financially to the extent others may. Huge conglomerates will survive but the likes of small businesses and people losing their pay through lack of work will be crippling and there won't be a recovery for many .
By the way as a self isolator watching the new, yes I am fully aware of the Government trying to deal with this vast problem so stop being so patronising.
There was me thinking that Covid 19 was responsible for this mess as you like to call it.
Branson has laid off ALL his employees for 8 weeks without pay while he languishes on Necker an island worth millions which he purchased for £180,000 and protects his 5 billion.
Like many in the British Government I call that shameful.
What a ridiculous comment. Branson already has a bailout for Flybe from the tax he already owes the treasury for the past year. It's the tourist industry that is being hit at the moment and frankly holidays are not a necessity of life at this moment in my humble opinion. We didn't bail out Thomas Cook did we?
Once we have a shut down of Schools, Tecs, universities ,offices etc. people will be struggling to cope with daily life through loss of wages which I believe the Government will be taking on the finance for to hopefully cope with this. Our NHS is already struggling with the lack of intensive care units.
It's a nightmare frankly and if you consider Branson's wealth of over 5 billion, then let him put his own hand in his pocket and fork out, not expect the tax payers to help him out. We are not a bottomless pit.
He needs to put his own business in order ,not expect the taxpayer to subsidise him. he failed with Virgin Rail which we assisted ,also Flybe with a 100 million loan against his owed tax to the treasury. There are many in employment who will suffer due to Coronovirus not just the travel industry.
Absolutely Bogart . It won't wash with the general public and will cause an uproar with other airline companies, but I cannot see it happening to be honest.
There are several reasons for this. Apart from its usefulness as an antiseptic, alcohol causes blood vessels to rise to the surface, making it easier to insert the needle.
Maybe it makes the person doing the injection less like a killer
Flybe's bail out was a deferment of their tax bill owed to the treasury. It was basically to save interconnecting flights within the UK.
A marked difference between that and a 75 billion bail out to keep his Company from folding due to coronavirus .There would be total chaos within the airline industry if we were to meet his demands.
We need to concentrate on our own struggling people who will lose their livelihood due to this unmitigated disaster.
Basically he's asking for 75 billion to bail out Virgin Airlines during the crisis.
The government bailed out Flybe which he owns and also Virgin Trains. Get a grip Richard our coffers are not a bottomless pit. They are there for the needy not the greedy.
Over the social media I have seen so many good, bad and indifferent comments on Covid-19. I guess people have different mind sets on how to cope with something so serious.
Fact is I'm worried at my age and it has certainly made me think about my lifestyle. I feel for those having well earned holidays cancelled ,businesses that will go to the wall due to lack of trade. The list is endless.
I'm not a doom and gloom person , but just wish people would stop cracking jokes about this killer virus. It really is not funny.
RE: Did you know?
Probably Jeff Bezos doing the counting in his spare time.
