RE: Name the one thing you miss from the past...?

Hi Rohug

It was dreadful as I didn't have the opportunity to grieve. He was on holiday in a remote part of Sri Lanka with his wife and there was no communication to the UK. All news came from Colombo and I got a phone call asking me to inform Mum and Dad that he had died. Worst day of my life holding everyone togethercrying

I still miss him to this day 34 years later ,but his presence is still here as an angel on my shoulder.angel

I was going to go to Bedminster, New Jersey, this weekend, but wanted to stay in Washington, D.C. to make sure LAW & ORDER is enforced. The arsonists, anarchists, looters, and agitators have been largely stopped...

Phone the White House Donald will have the answer.grin

Milwaukee in particular has had an aggressive attack from the virus which seems to be getting worse across America.

Both the U.S. and the U.K. need to get a grip as this is becoming a real problem unless Governments don't step up to the plate and take more control . People need to start acting sensibly too. sigh

Your Comment:

Spitz, since we almost finished your topic, although the introduction of this post which I'm making is unrelated, I still would like to hear your views so you fully understand why patriots in the US hate leftist corruption and ideology so much.

I've been reading these posts among others since 6 a.m. and am still none the wiser.laugh

As previously stated I'm not politically au fait and freely admit this but do try to understand people's point of view The left and right stance is no different from that of the UK , although we do have a minority of other parties, but in America the division is huge.

As already stated I'm at a loss as to why anyone would elect to govern America a person in their dotage. Biden or Trump. We are talking about being capable of running one of the largest economies in the World and a country founded on immigrants which seem to have lost their place in the diversity that is America.

As for corona virus I think comments from Donald trump speak for themselves with regards what the World thinks of his handling of the situation, and this in itself is just one factor that has caused his drop in popularity .

What a political mess we all seem to be in at this present time. The U.K. has the same dilemma with bumbling Boris and I really do sit on the fence re left and right as I think there are good and bad politicians in every party .Let's just hope that we still keep a World peace whatever the outcome.

Thanks for listening and also being a gentlemanhug

RE: EU May Bar American Travelers as It Reopens Borders, Citing Failures on Virus

Covid 19 started in November 2019 so probably a year after those statistics were published .and I very much doubt people will be thinking about holidays just yet do you ?

911 in New York has not deterred people from visiting the city. Hong Kong was always a popular place to visit. Have recent events with riots against China's new administration laws changed it's popularity status?

It's a know fact that many Americans love our history and indeed the Royal Family such as it is at present times. The Queen draws huge respect across the World .Many have family here also.

London will always be a top attraction for visitors and it's good to know that it's not Disney world that attracts people it's our culture.

People will still travel when normal services resume.handshake

RE: EU May Bar American Travelers as It Reopens Borders, Citing Failures on Virus

In 2018, 37.9 million tourists visited the UK, but this reached an all-time high in 2017 with 39.2 million! In July 2019 alone, £2.9 billion was spent here by overseas residents, demonstrating how substantial tourism is to the economy. USA residents visit the most as 3,877,000 people visited in 2018, closely followed by France. Tourism in London statistics demonstrates the popularity of the capital in comparison to other locations in the UK as the city has 8 times more visitors than the second most visited city. Holidays is the number one reason as to why tourists visit the UK, 63% of visits to the UK are for a holiday away.

With apologies as i had to delete some of the post in order to fit in a response.

I'm sorry but I'm at a loss to understand why any book wanting to be published would face a court ruling?

To my knowledge there have been over 50 books written about this latest Presidency. Were they all taken to court before due publication to meet with Donald Trump's approval.confused

I don't profess to understand deep rooted politics, but have to say that I am not a lover of the Trump administration and that is my choice from what I have seen over the past 4 years and also heard from many disillusioned Americans.. Maybe he is a better candidate than Biden but in a country of 330 million I find it quite astonishing that the only viable candidates are 2 old aged pensioners vying for the position of Potus.

His handling of the corona virus has been a total disaster, and his ineptitude and dishonesty in handling the pandemic has left foreign observers as well as Americans in disbelief . Having said that our own Government have been sadly lacking in this department too .

In my honest opinion. his erratic behaviour, though tolerated in the past, is now seen as bordering
on dangerous and it has become plain to many across the globe that he is not to be trusted.

Just my humble opinion.handshake

I was hoping His Master's Voice or H.M.V. for short was going to give me some genlaugh

We may know some things but there are probably a few dark secrets hidden away that only family would know about. Think that's what is bothering the President and giving him the D.T.s if you'll excuse the pun., and I don't mean alcoholic ones.laugh
