I don't believe its just about being strict and that word alone is open to interpretation, my Father was 'strict' and I lived in fear of him my whole childhood and ended up hating him.

To me its about spending time and teaching them values, compassion and respect for others, amongst alot of other things.

I think some of the original ones are outdated by today's lifestyle eg 'To Obey'

Many people now adapt them to their personal preference, maybe this is more appropriate

Seems to me when a woman posts she wants a younger masn she's told, to go for it.

But when a man posts something similiar he gets slated, double standards to me.

However my husbans was 15 yrs older than me and we were together 16yrs, once the children were old enough I wanted my career back and pick up my life again, he wanted different things so the age difference did come into it.

We reach different stages in life when we reach certain ages so long term I do think it comes into it. jmo

If you are looking for something short term i think age is immaterial.

But long term it does play a part in my experience, there comes a time when you want different things from life.

Humour works well and a bit about yourself, and make sure you have read the persons profile.

Worst thing is to give your email straight off or claim undying love with a marriage proposal, believe me some numpty's do that.

Can relate to that, we are all different but for me I will always feel something but have learnt to seperate it from my current life. It is hard but my advice would be give yourself time and try to build a life where you can be happy within yourself, before going into another relationship. jmo

I prefer to split the bill especially if its a first date or early on in a relationship, that way no misunderstandings.

Also women say they like equality so think its opnly fair to split the bill. jmo
