That's an excellent viewpoint. We shouldn't let the past dictate to the future. But I think we should be careful not to forget the past, either. Otherwise it may choose to refresh our memories at very incovenient moments.
I think you are right there DF. We all make mistakes, and anyone who says they have no regrets is not very self-aware. I think we should try to be the best person we can, while recognizing we'll never be perfect.

This could be so. Consider the relatively few number of votes for that first-place pic and the great number of votes given to the runners-up. I believe a minimum of 30 votes is required for eligibility.

I use 'dear' for, well, my dear. Would seem kinda strange for anyone else but maybe that's just me. I do use 'honey' or 'hon' a lot, with women I know and am on good terms with, and likewise sometimes 'sugar,' but I think it would be presumptuous to use such an affectionate address with a stranger.
And how about the English barmaid habit of calling every male patron 'love'?
