I understand, G, that women on CS are inundated with unsolicited email. I really do. A while ago I posted a Poll to prove just that. But, consider: Let's say you get 20 unsolicited emails a day. Without your Profile warding some off, it might be 40. So, while you have every right to bemoan the guys who don't read it, you should remember, some do.
Ok, sorry, but I did warn about it above in this thread, and in the email, all I wrote was that I had not looked at your Profile!
But I think I do have a point to make: it's not ignoring your Profile that's the problem, it's guys sending inappropriate emails. Sorry, but lots of guys are bozos, and that's gonna happen anyway. You might instead ponder how many more unwanted and inappropriate emails you might get otherwise, without the Profile to do some screening.
Experiment concluded. Result: Email sent without viewing Profile obtained response.
Are y'all sure that what you mean to complain about is folk not reading your Profiles? Or is it rather that they send emails which would be inappropriate regardless? No offense, OP, but you just rewarded the exact behavior you claim to find annoying.
Picture or no, you'll still show up when they use Search for females in your area. Your area wouldn't happen to be one to which many hopefuls might wish to emigrate, would it?
Seems like an increasing number of members are "hiding" their profiles whenever they are not actually logged on...
Oh come on, Abecadarian. Since when is the former seat of the Roman Empire a third-world country? Also, the term preferred nowadays is "underdeveloped," so as to avoid assigning stigma. Furthermore, to characterize the current situation in Lampedusa as typical of Italy in general is as naive as saying all the USA is like Central Park West. (You do make one point, however, in mentioning Lampedusa, though you may not have intended to: there's a lot of people interested in moving to Italy right now.)
And my apologies for quoting you as having said "Just testing" on your own recent blog. It was necessary to use someone's name to establish that it would work.
I suppose it'd be Italy. Where exactly would be difficult to decide. I'd like to be within an hour's drive of a major metropolitan area with an international airport, which I guess would mean Rome. But I also like mountain scenery, which would mean up north in the Dolomites. But I've also heard great praise for the scenery of the Amalfi coast, too.
Turns out that's not strictly true, Kid. I just checked. There's no "Quote" button to use for replies, but you can still do it manually. Admittedly, that's a bit of work. But it can be done.
13. No flooding. This causes other threads of members to sink down the lists and get missed by readers. Be considerate, use common sense and enter a reasonable number of threads per day.
RE: Vent - Anonymous message
Who let that horse-faced out of the asylum, anyway?
