Hi Class! Yes wonderfully so thanks. Y'know, loving and romancing and such is so much more fun that arguing pointlessly about non-current events, it's a wonder to me that more don't give it a try. But, to each his/her own, right?
Only one of your nine choices, Eddie Van Halen, is "from the '70s." If "from the '70s" is really the criteria, there's no question the answer is Mark Knopfler. Witness the fact that as soon as Dire Strait's eponymous first album was released in 1978, two of those on your list, Carlos Santana ("Winning") and Eric Clapton ("I Can't Stand It") immediately aped Knopfler's distinctive style.
Y'know, Mak, hiding the posts you don't like doesn't really accomplish much. We can all still see them, so you just draw extra attention to them by trying to hide them.
I'm an atheist, and I can tell you, you're dead wrong about atheists. And about the nature and origin of religious belief in general. I recommend James Frazer's The Golden Bough, if you permit yourself reading other books.
Let's say there were an earthlike planet circling some unnamed Sun in UDFj-39546284, the most distant known protogalaxy in the universe, and for whatever reason my baby was on that planet. Why, even that trip of some 13+ billion light-years would not be too far.
My own favorite: "Falling," by Julee Cruise, music by Angelo Badalamenti, lyrics by David Lynch. (The music alone is better known as the theme from TV's "Twin Peaks.")
(Note that the creator of this lyric video has misspelled Cruise's first name.)
I'm sure it's a more demanding role than many would suspect. And despite the public scandal sometimes attached to her descendants, Elizabeth has never been less than a lady herself. My hat's off to your Queen.
You win! Of course you can delegate the award of the 200 Bonus Points as you see fit.
Sorry to hear you are down about Alberta, but chin up man, Canadian women are amongst the lovingest in the world. Surely one of them could make the frozen north more....cozy.

Er, excuse me, Ginn IN ITALY. Perhaps you could clarify for everyone what nation's tax policy you are talking about? And, are taxpayers of that nation who live overseas "paying their fair share"?
I'm just asking. You don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable.
Or....some people need to clarify to themselves what they want, and disregard irrelevant factors (like those suggested by CS's enrollment, or someone else's notion of "niceness").
Me, personally. I've made a mint! What a bonanza that was, for selling vague, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. I gather you've done well yourself, Tony?
Seriously, to address Firehorsebaby's original point, I'd like to point out that for many on CS, English is not their native language. In learning written English, they may have been taught that "Dear So-and-so" is the polite, formal address, as indeed it is. Anyone who communicates so may simply be unfamiliar with less formal salutations.
That doesn't excuse those who send emails launched with "Hello, Dear." Anyone who does that did not learn it in some ESL class. They learned it in a How To Scam Rich Stupid Yankees class.
We are dealing with this situation, as the situation permits. What more might one wish?
Immediate relocation is a challenging prospect for most folk, and some partners might have better long-term relocation prospects than others. As with every challenge to every relationship, it's something that must be worked out together and resolved as a couple.
I dislike very crowded seating generally but I don't much care who is crowding me. I stay away from film openings for that reason. Were it some other event, perhaps one GA & I particularly wanted to see, I'd have no problem.
