I met you in a dream.

Could it be we’ve met before?
Walking along a distant shore
For the longest time we talk
As we enjoy our little walk
Feeling that your hand’s in mine
Together for the longest time

Could it be our spirits entwine
Does your soul reach out to mine
Pulses race and hearts aflutter
Soft sweet words that we utter
Moonlit nights beneath clear skys
Drowning in your starry eyes

Could it be I found you here
Searching over many a year
Guided by the stars above
Could it be I found true love
An end to all the lonely times
No more sad and lonely rhymes

Could it be now that I wake
A cruel dream that’s now opaque
The fancies of a lonely heart
Memories that will soon depart
All of these, my aspirations
Disappearing lost creations

Dream’s can come true

Dream’s can come true

I don’t remember wishing on a shooting star,
or polishing a lamp from an eastern bazaar.
Making a pact with the devil for my soul,
reading a magical incantation from ancient scroll
Yet my dreams took flight in Waitrose cafe
a wondrous enchantment had come my way

An amazing lady who’s funny and smart
A vision of beauty that’s captured my heart
Her lips are soft and yearn to be kissed
and when holding her close it’s hard to resist.
With eyes that sparkle with every embrace
A new found passion I found in that place

Hand in hand we strolled for a while
Chatting and laughing with every mile
a horseless carriage hid a covert kiss
a journey to nowhere that ended in bliss
each time we part my soul starts to weep
she stays on my mind even when I’m asleep

Katla (Icelandic Volcano)

magnificent with it’s awesome power
natures impressive volcanic tower
destroying live with lethal fumes
flora and fauna the ash consumes
molten rock will bombard the land
skies are filled with deadly sand

youngest island in the world
grown so quickly as nature unfurled
gate way to hell at Hekla’s feet
and sister Katla prepares to greet
the youngest sibling stays close by
and caused disruption in the sky

the goddess of the earth will wake
of land and sea her hands will take
there's beauty in her grand display
a majestic life, then soon decay
so to the kettle as you reach your time
I pray you wait a little more time.

About this poem:
Kettle - English translation of Katla
Hekla was descibed by Jules Verneis as the gateway to hell
The volcano at Eyjafjallajökull is the younger sibling and often precedes an eruption of Katla

Katla erupts every 40-80 years, it's last eruption was in 1918. It usually erupts 6 to 18 months after the volcano at Eyjafjallajökull. You do the math.

For just one moment in time
Let me know that you are mine
And safely in your warm embrace
It makes my heart begin to race
And when walking at your side

If You

IF you could see the way I feel,
if you could find my heart to steal.
If you could fly through stormy clouds
to escape the humdrum of the crowds
If you can dare your dreams to find
while keeping reality clear in mind
If you could touch the stars above,
acknowledge a desire for true love.
Then you will enter this world of mine.
where you can stay the longest time.
A place where the stars begin to glow
In twilight moments we won’t let go
I’d hold you close in warm embrace
And lift you up to a higher place

The Stars (Shape)

As
the
moon
Breaks
through a

bringing ghostly
shapes around our
eyes, as the warmth of
this summer nights breeze
rustles gently through the trees. Through scattered clouds the heavens shimmer
as numerous diamonds begin to glimmer. A garment of lace stretched from
shore to shore, a map of the heaven that we begin to explore.
A telescope sat upon the deck, scans the heavens charting
every speck. Constalations seen passed Orions belt
looking to where only gods have dwelt.
Then gazing upon Saturns rings,
oh what wonders this contraption
brings. As with the lens that we gaze
through, an arrangement of mirrors give
us a perfect view. And as the sun begins
to rise, we loose _________ the darkness before

About this poem:
In the poem Völuspá, a dead völva recounts the history of the universe and foretells the future to the disguised god Odin. Hjúki and Bil are the children of Máni and together they are the three phases of the moon in Icelandic and Norsk mythology. I had forgotten this story which I read as a child until I started writing this poem.

If this post badly like i suspect it might, it is suppose to be a crescent moon.

Lost love

I will not stand in this place and cry
You are not here, you only passed by
I shall not look for you in the setting sun
That is only where our love begun
I no longer look along the lonely shore
It’s only the place that our love did soar
I will not find you in a wind that blows
Cool autumn breeze when I held you close
You won’t be there in the summer rain
And if I look to the heavens, it will be in vein
I know that no matter where I look
I will not find the one God took
But once more I reflect in silent refrain
I know in my heart you will always remain

A poem about Hate

There are no passions that are so great
of the feelings we have of Love and Hate.
For as one brings to us the greatest of pleasure,
the other brings anger in no short measure.

Hatred consumes with a fire in our heart,
welled up indignation it tries to impart
Connecting emotions with lust and spite,
feeding itself with a rage to ignite

Hatred can sallow through passage of time,
compassion and understanding will sublime.
For hate to survive it needs to be fed
so give pitty to hate with fervour instead

About this poem:
I strongly believe that hate is an emotion that if we let it take hold, it will drag us down and destroy our very soul. It is possible that we can overcome our hatred with rational thought. It is also possible that hatred is a desire to destroy that is incurable by time.

I would appreciate any comments or insights into what HATE is.

Love and Fear

As every coin just has two sides
two emotions our heart abides,
the basic feelings that we possess
are the Fear and Love that we express.

When love is present and at our side
the fear is gone, with no places to hide.
For when we feel a presence of one,
the other leaves and soon is gone

As love brings to us a sense of joy
with peace and happiness to employ
and on which we find an inner peace,
a tranquil home, the golden fleece

As fear drags out the worst in us
hate and depression becomes a truss.
that inner turmoil that we discover,
our guilt and anger to uncover

An active choice that we must make
for fear, not love our hearts forsake.
And with every single reasoned thought
We should banish fear, and all it brought

Dedicated to a Lady who asked me to consider ‘fear’ and not ‘hate’ as the opposite of love.

Thank you for the inspiration.

William Shakespeare

Of the greatest writer there is no doubt
The man from Stratford and years gone by
We still give praise and his works we flout
And Shakespeare’s writing will never die
As an actor in the Lord Chanberlain’s men
Many dramatic plays he stared and wrote
Numerous sonnets came from his pen
and many times we will hear a quote
The complete work have all survived
Of a British subject in whom were proud
Many times his works have been revived
He’s inspired people in every crowd
So to the Bard of Avon I raise my glass
And if this doesn’t win you can kiss my

Calligraphy

The nib runs dry and slows the flow
Charlemagne’s art to bestow
As codices now replaces scroll
and parchment lost to paper roll
An art as ancient as Rome itself
Has gathered dust upon a shelf

Cursive form and flowing script
Handle that is softly gripped
Slowly building upon first letter
Graceful movement is far better
As each new word is slowly penned
A sentence forms, a line will end

The typist would laugh at the rate
No words a minute I could state
Each one takes a fullness of time
And passion is placed in every line
While knife lies idle on the table
No vellum scraped on messed up sable

The completed work a thing of beauty
The gold plated nib fulfilled its duty
The days of patience find reward
As script and swirl, in one accord
Hand that writes and sets words free
Gives life and elegance to poetry
