4 Ways To Declutter Your Life

Everyone's life today seems to be filled with people and things that serve no real purpose. Whether you realize it or not the things you surround yourself with impact your mood and productivity. Here are 4 ways that you can declutter and improve your life.

1. Remove toxic people from your life

Getting rid of toxic people is an important task that all of us must do at some point. Toxic people can bring you down on a daily basis with their criticism and negativity. People often assume that because someone is a friend or family member you must put up with their bad attitude, but you don't. You deserve only people who make you happy and lift you up.

2. Reduce your email accounts

Having numerous email accounts might seem like a smart idea, but it's really a time-waster. Instead of having three or four emails, reduce your email to one or two accounts. Remember to use folders and labels to keep email organized. You can also have emails from certain people sent directly to certain folders, which can keep things organized for you. You can also have emails from a second account forwarded to your primary account so that you don't have to log into bother constantly.

3. Get rid of clutter

Clutter isn't only bad for your environment; it's bad for your mind and your mood. The clutter around you contributes to how you feel and how productive you are. Take the time to remove the clutter and get things organized so that you can finally begin to enjoy your space. Don't hold on to things that aren't of use to you. Old magazines, clothes that no longer fit, and boxes that have been sitting around are doing nothing but taking up space should be purged. Remember that not every inch of your space needs to be filled with something.

4. Manage your time

It's important to choose wisely how you're going to spend your time each day. If you check your email or social networking sites every hour, cut back to just a few times a day. With the time you save yourself you can do something more productive. If you take on too many commitments, it might be time to cut back on a few of them. Don't be afraid of disappointing people. Taking the time to be by yourself to relax and refresh will benefit you, your life, and those around you because you'll be less stressed.

You can declutter and improve the quality of your life by using the 4 tips above.
