bones and things

Today was osteo day and I learned something new. All along I have assumed that as the pressures on my brainstem eased function would return to my left side pretty much in the way it went away.

Apparently not quite. At the moment, my brain -and all its communication centres - is behaving a bit despotically, sending out commands with scant attention, just saying 'do this!' and my bones and stronger muscles are leaping, sometimes literally, to obey. Any weaker muscles are being ignored despite their best efforts so what I have to do is intercede and literally redirect the action to the weaker sisters among my muscles

the underside of my forearm, the triceps, the muscles that curve the hand over rather than thrust the fingers out. And i need to inscribe circles amd roll marbles and modelling clay into balls between my fingers, delicate fine motor activities that my brain has discarded because it functions without them. These are the refinements of life.

The delicate traceries of frost upon a window pane instead of banks of snow, the caress as opposed to the slap upside the head my left hand has to offer at the moment.

Things that should be simple. Until you realise you have no concept of how your fingers make a circle on the desk top, just one hand can do it, the other cannot and trying to focus brings up all the worst feelings from radiation and chemo making fuzzy seem a state of the world not just a moment of confusion.

Well, I know what I need to do - I just have to work out how to do it. Let's hope I am still as smart as the average baby.

Charitable Giving is HIGHER After Trump Tax Cut: Trump's Critics & Fake News ARE WRONG YET AGAIN !!!

A sure way to get rich over the last 2 1/2 years would have been to take every negative prediction about what would happen if President Trump was elected and bet the farm against it. President Trump would never run they said because he wouldn’t have a chance. He wouldn’t win the primary they said because he just doesn’t have what it takes to beat 16 of the best politicians in the business. He would lose in a landslide against Hillary Clinton they said, it’s not even worth wasting time with an election. Once elected the economy would collapse they said. The stock markets would immediately fall to depression era levels. Unemployment would skyrocket to new highs, wages would plummet and taxes would rise off the charts . Minorities and women would never be employed again. World war would break out, planes would fall out of the sky, the apocalypse would come and tumbleweed would be blowing down the empty streets of your neighborhood.

I mean how many times can President Trump’s detractors be wrong and still make negative predictions with a straight face? Maybe a better question is how could anyone still believe anything they say?

Even if you toss a coin to make your prediction, you will be right 50% of the time. But they are NEVER right.

In fact, not only are they wrong, but every single one of these predictions ended up being JUST THE OPPOSITE of what they predicted. President Trump ran, he won the primary, he beat Hillary Clinton, the Trump economy is booming, the stock markets are at record highs, unemployment is at record lows especially for minorities and women, wages are seeing the biggest increases in decades and taxes for the middle class have fallen for the first time since the Bush tax cut. The United States and the world are now more secure than they have been in a generation and war is not only less likely than it was under the previous administration, but nowhere on the horizon.

You couldn’t do this bad at predicting if you threw a dart at a dartboard blindfolded and facing the opposite direction!

And the hits (or should I say misses) just keep on coming.

Remember when the Trump haters were saying that the Trump tax cuts would destroy charitable giving and decimate charities from coast to coast? No real economist would predict that. But the fake news and their fake economists were drumming it into peoples’ heads over and over and over again in an attempt to support their fake narrative that President Trump is some kind of monster who wants to see handicapped children lose their wheelchairs and grandmothers starve to death in frozen houses when they can’t pay their bills.

WRONG AGAIN!

We now know that charitable giving actually INCREASED after the Trump tax cuts not decreased.

The Democrats MUST be as tired of making these endless catastrophically failed fake news predictions as the rest of the country is of hearing them. Aren't they?

All I can say is THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP !!! For proving your detractors wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. For calling out the fake news for what it is. And most of all for

MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

Wheat is milled in paddy separator

Conventionally, wheat is milled in paddy separator which simultaneously remove outer bran layers and germ from the wheat kernel or berry and reduce the size of the starchy endosperm. A typical paddy separator will include a sequence of counter rotating opposed rollers which progressively break the wheat into smaller and smaller sizes. The output from each pair of rollers is sorted into multiple streams, typically by means of sifters and purifiers, to separate the bran and germ from the endosperm, and to direct coarser and finer fractions of the endosperm to appropriate rollers.

The prepared grain sample flows through an adjustable feed gate over the feed roll to the first pair of break rolls and from there, without intermediate sifting, to the second pair of break rolls. Subsequently, the material goes directly to the reduction section. Here, the second roll of the second break head operates against the fine corrugated roll of the reduction section. The closed grinding process with extremely small roll diameters and the resulting short grinding zone, together with the self-grinding effect of the grain particles among each other, ensure maximum separation of the endosperm. The short grinding process corresponding to the elasticity of the bran prevents splitting up of the bran. After having passed the last pair of rolls, the material drops into the round sifter.

Practical implications grain structure relate to every step from grain development and production through market ing to processing, utiliza-tion, and consumption. The structure and adherence of the hulls may contribute to protection of grain during germination or malting and protection against insect infestations. Germ retention during thresh-ing and separation during processing depend on the germ structure and location in the kernel. The subaleurone and central endosperm layers differ in cell size , shape, and structure and in composition, especially with regard to protein contents and quality. The main factors in grain hardness are the intrinsic hardness of the main components, the strength of interaction within the cell, and the interaction of individual cells to produce overall grain structure.

The husking performance of different paddy husker was compared for changes in the applied normal load. It was found that grains rotate between the rubber counterfaces on initial motion before being husked. In addition, harder rubbers were found to husk a higher proportion of entrained grains at lower applied normal load. By measuring the coefficient of friction between rice and rubber samples, the shear force required to husk a given percentage of grains could be calculated and was shown to be constant regardless of rubber type. Based on the mechanism seen in the high-speed video, it was evident that there was a limiting shear stress that was the governing factor over the husked ratio.

Savior no more? Distraught Dems turn on Mueller after stumbling hearing

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's mythic profile -- built over a period of two years by Trump detractors hoping his investigation and later his testimony would pave the way for the president's removal from office -- took a hit Wednesday as the veteran lawman was seen stumbling through questions and at times unclear about the contents of his own report.

Now, some of President Trump’s biggest critics are turning their ire toward the legend himself, panning his performance at this high-stakes forum, even though Mueller repeatedly made clear he did not wish to testify in the first place.

“Much as I hate to say it, this morning’s hearing was a disaster,” Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe tweeted, in reference to Mueller’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. Tribe is an outspoken critic of Trump who often calls for his impeachment and indictment. He noted Mueller’s appearance failed to provide the made-for-TV moment that Democrats could rally behind in their efforts to bring down the president.

“Far from breathing life into his damning report, the tired Robert Mueller sucked the life out of it.”

Left-wing documentarian Michael Moore had even harsher words about Mueller, and all the “pundits and moderates and lame Dems” who thought he would deliver.

@MMFlint

A frail old man, unable to remember things, stumbling, refusing to answer basic questions...I said it in 2017 and Mueller confirmed it today — All you pundits and moderates and lame Dems who told the public to put their faith in the esteemed Robert Mueller — just STFU from now on.

Democrats did get Mueller to make certain statements that were clearly damaging to the president, including refuting Trump's claim that he was exonerated by the investigation. But Mueller largely was retreading ground already covered in the report. And his critical comments were undermined by his stumbling in the face of Republican questioning, and confusion over key details. Several on the left readily acknowledged this was not the home run for which they hoped.

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin scored it as a win for President Trump.

“Look at who’s winning now, it certainly seems like Donald Trump is winning between the two of them,” Toobin said Wednesday.

NBC’s Chuck Todd noted that while Mueller did deliver some substance that benefited Democrats, “on optics, this was a disaster.”

Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, who just a week earlier introduced a resolution to impeach Trump, recognized that even though Mueller “met my expectations,” others may have been disappointed.

“Some persons were hoping for a seminal moment. A ‘wow’ moment. It didn’t happen,” Green said. Green tweeted Thursday morning that this was because the report and Trump’s actions had been already been discussed “ad nauseum.”

David Axelrod, former senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, was far more critical as the morning hearing drew to a close.

“This is very, very painful,” Axelrod said

Trump’s legal team reacted to the testimony by stating that this should be the end of the discussion.

“The American people understand that this issue is over. They also understand that the case is closed,” attorney Jay Sekulow said in a statement.

Kudlow: 'Hottest Economy in World' to Grow 3 Percent

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Friday said he expects forecasts of three percent U.S. economic growth this year to hold because America enjoys the "hottest economy in the world."

The veteran financial guru and former Ronald Reagan adviser also said that he did not see rising U.S. employment as increasing inflation, speaking in an interview on Fox Business Network after government data earlier on Friday showed U.S. job growth surging in January.

“The economy is very healthy. The president was tweeting out this morning, I think correctly. The USA is hottest economy in the world," he told Fox's Stuart Varney.

“The tax cuts are working. The deregulation is working. The trade reforms are working. We're hitting on all cylinders," said Kudlow, who worked as Reagan’s budget deputy between 1981 and 1985.

“I think our three percent growth rate is intact I think we're going to surprise a lot of people," he said, urging his friends who are pessimistic to not bet against the American economy.

The Labor Department’s closely watched monthly employment report on Friday showed no “discernible” impact on job growth from a 35-day partial government shutdown. But the longest shutdown in history, which ended a week ago, pushed up the unemployment rate to a seven-month high of 4.0 percent, Reuters reported.

With key data from the Commerce Department, including the fourth-quarter gross domestic product report, still delayed because of the government shutdown, the employment report is the clearest evidence yet that the economy remains on solid ground.

Clouds have been gathering over the economic expansion, now in its ninth year and the second longest on record, with business and consumer confidence deteriorating in recent months. Confidence has been eroded by the fight over the government budget and Washington’s trade war with Beijing.

Now that's banging the drum !!
