Stuffed.

I just got back home from an awards banquet earlier tonight.
My team not only won first place in the regular season,
but went undefeated in the playoffs.
Thus, we took both awards this year - big trophies.
I also took a picture of our coach earlier in the year, enlarged it,
and wrote on the back;

"We, the undersigned, testify and celebrate that (name of coach)
was coach of the year 2019, as he wisely led & guided us to a first place finish
during the regular season and then shrewdly managed us through the playoffs undefeated;"

I then signed my name and handed it to all the other players on my team and stated,
"if you agree with the statement at the top, sign your name below it."
Of course, all the teammates signed.
After the coach got the 2 big trophies to the applause of the league, I took the mic
and stated, that he "also won coach of the year" and I handed him the picture with the statement
and signatures on the back. My teammates all stood up and cheered.
He knew he was getting the trophies from the league, but the photo was a surprise.
He also surprised us each with championship shirts.
It's a terrific group of guys. We kid each other, but never put each other down.
Instead, we all attempt to inspire, lift each other up, and come through, when others don't succeed.
Perhaps that's partly why we won.

The league banquet is held every year at a popular Italian restaurant. The league books
a large separate room away from the main part of the restaurant each year after the softball season ends.
The food was great. I had 3 helpings (buffet style) and then 2 brownies. I also took 2 brownies for the ride home. The owner invited us all to take helpings home, but I told him, "thank you, but my fridge is stuffed full (so was I).
It's about 1 hour away from my house.

I'm still stuffed. I did manage to eat one of the brownies while driving home though. blushing

Italian?
I'll take the Lasagna with meat sauce!
C - I skipped that. Instead, I went for a chicken with mozzarrela, vodka penne noodles, and a mixed greens salad, which I added a Balsamic vinegrette dressing .

I'm generally not a fan of cheeses (except brie & blue cheese), but the noodles were cooked in some sort of cheese cream sauce that was outrageously delicious, and no, it wasn't the vodka. A lot of my teammates commented on how good those noodles were, and so did I. The chicken was good too. They had to make it 3 times. Apparently we consumed a lot more than they originally predicted. laugh
Congratulations, Jim! cheering

MiMi would’ve brought these tiffin carriers along to the banquet! laugh

Well done Jim. I'm glad you enjoyed the evening .

I love, love, love cheese smitten
Congratz for the team and coach.
Brownies are my favourite dessert truth be said I like any dessert.
Mi - I bow before your superior banquet enjoyment preparation.

Mo - Unless it is brie or blue cheese, you are welcome to my share of other cheeses.
Occasionally (i.e. at a party), I will consume one small cube of cheddar (which may have been
the cheese used for those noodles above) and I remember enjoying a swiss cheese topped burger as a kid. Otherwise, cheese just isn't a flavor I prefer.

I - I like brownies, but prefer a good all natural fruit pie, especially topped with all natural ice cream.
Indeed, I would prefer a mango to a brownie. But, most of the time I will pass on common cakes, unless it's some sort of special all natural gourmet cake, which is a lot more than just flour and icing.
