self promotion...
The blogs on CS are programmed so that any member can comment to their blogs at any time and bring them to the top of the page. If you comment to each of ten old blogs, all ten will float to page one. Current discussion in the blogs is about limited exposure to reduce the number of blogs a member can display. As a newbie to CS, I thought it was odd to the amount of self promotion that goes on here. People have the ability to bump their dead blogs and bring them to the top of the page. That didn't happen on the site I was previously associated with. No matter how many comments you added, each blog would slowly drift away...
It was only when another member commended that would bring your blog to the top.
(side note, this was one of the reasons members created sockpuppets so they can intentionally bump their own blogs)
I asked CS administration if they would consider a format change to stop self promotion and their reply was no.
Their response didn't surprise me as it's expensive to implement website changes. I'm thinking status quo should someone actually contact administration requesting a change.

You must be special to have contact with those who must be worshipped

Actually no need to answer, apart from you lot being selective, I know how ye like the sounding of your own voice

My blog, my thought and it stays with me. Commenting to another blog would be impossible to find later.
Liking the sound of my own voice?
Hmmm... I couldn't possibly compete with you. Perhaps you can offer me some helpful advice?
However, how about a bit of a compromise on this.
The blogger should not get a kick to the top of the page,
if his/her new comment follows one of his/her own other comments.
For instance, if he is answering a new question about the blog,
then a kick up to the top is more appropriate.
However, the blogs that are over a year old with most of the comments from
the blogger themself are ridiculous.
I try to include responses to multiple people in the same comment,
so I don't hog a top spot.
However, some days I blog mutiple times and some weeks i don't blog at all.
Indeed, recently there was a 10 day gap in my blogging.
But, before we suggest changing the rules, how about if the current rules are
actually enforced. For instance, take a look at what % ask questions of the readers,
which is against blogging rules.
For the most part, these are not new bloggers. They should know better.
What most of you will never know
Was how nice the page looked
When printed--esp. In color.
The margins were just right,
Print jobs on this page are not so
Groovy.
Why do peoples wanna change what sorta works
Maybe you all got kicked outta that other site cause ya all wrecked it
Funny how a dating site gets overrun with people in a relationship with time to waste an all the wanting to date people left way before the site was turned off
Maybe we got turned off by ya all
Ya all may make this one disappear too
Who knows
I feel sorry for all the lonely people having to sift through all of it to find love
Yet the chat man still chats here
Maybe cause of language barrier
He has mentioned this himself moons ago
My brother married a Japanese lady an learnt to speak her language too. He did that because of her an her love for him
He's never been on a dating site chatting ever.
He loves her too much to upset what they have
Maybe you should put picks up of you an your lady doing things together Mr Chat
How come you haven't promoted your love of your lady here Mr Chat
Mimi an art are legends here. They been here way longer than you an you say what you say.
Prove to everyone here you are even with your lady
You've got nothing so far apart from words an your 1 an only red pic
Newbie
Crickey even I've changed my pic more times an spent way less time here
No malice just observations
So you think miss Mimi an Mr Art are fake ?
No... You're totally wrong. Totally. How or where did you ascertain that information?
It wasn't anything I've said. The comment was about married people being here. If someone is going to complain then include all the married members in the complaint.
How come you haven't promoted your love of your lady here Mr Chat
That's not necessary. I'm here to blog. My profile clearly states my intentions. Promoting my relationship doesn't need to be part of this. If you go back to some of my first blogs here, I started describing some of my earlier relationships and it spawned some weird comments and other blogs about me. So, it became obvious to me I shouldn't discuss dating experiences on a dating site.
Ahhh... my photo is an issue too!
In your mind it must be important to refresh photos. I get it.
You just gave me a blog idea. Thanks!
Enough said.
