I watched her interview on British Talk Show and she said"“I lived his life, you didn’t live your own life, so you kind of lost yourself,” . “I didn’t have my teenage years as a normal girl obviously so I had to adapt, and I did adapt, I just followed.”
Yes we adapt the best way we know how to.

You'll see that her mother didn't want her to have anything to do with Elvis but her father did. Her father was a Navy pilot. When Elvis met Priscilla he was in the Army in Germany.
“I’ll never forget it,” Priscilla said, adding that Paul was not too keen on her dating Elvis at first. “My father said, ‘Absolutely not!’ My mother said, ‘I won’t let you walk across the street to see Elvis Presley!’ I knew this was going to be a battle.” When Elvis wanted to see Priscilla again, she recalled that her father “interrogated” her. “He wanted to know, ‘What happened the first night? Why does he want to see you again?'” Priscilla then revealed that Elvis came to her house “in full uniform” to speak to her parents. “He came absolutely decked out in white gloves, hat, everything! Already he won my father over! They talked for an hour and a half,” she said. Our thoughts are with Priscilla and her family as they mourn Paul’s passing."

That would make sense...what an informative lesson to share. It sounds like one should discover who they are...if possible I suppose...before getting involved in a relationship where you are subservient.
I feel her in this and it is hard to have a crippling loneliness leaving no choice but to leave Elvis in order to find herself
