Not a pretty sight

Favourite stretchy white top which is a bit too dingy now with age to go public
Favourite old blue pullover, so soft after years of use it is like wearing a cobweb
My old painting slax - a bit of a splashy painter, me, so they had to be retired from public life. Two weeks and counting, they are a tiny bit tighter despite the daily exercise routine uh oh
Slip-on trainers - one very short step above slippers laugh
No makeup
No shower today - washing my hands every single time I touch anything outside my house, in this dry country, I am saving water elsewhere grin

Yeah I know, wow. The queue can form to the right. No shoving, in fact 2 metres apart please. rolling on the floor laughing

I hate living in lockdown but you only have to look at the difference in figures to see it IS worth it. On March 11 I starting tracking the countries where I know people, on a spreadsheet. Spain had around 2000 cases. The USA had around 1000.

Yes we have terrifying figures despite the lockdown but - instead of having double as many as the USA, we have half.

But I am not a pretty sight. sigh anyone else prepared to share their isolation look ...

Edited to add this photo rolling on the floor laughing

My dog looks like that laugh

They will be the fittest they've ever been.
Art and I have been putting off our walks sigh No excuses coz there are none grin Well, except that few days that rained....laugh
I am trying to get out more than ever.
Healthy body, healthy mind and all that craic joy
Art laughed ( and rolled his eyes roll eyes ) at me when I told him all these will subside by end of May or early June grin

I need it to end coz I’ve got all my clothes and shoes all ready for summer! applause laugh
Summer smitten

I was chatting with a friend about all the things we'd do once we can cheering
Hey Kal I missed the link but yay that it is getting high praises whoop whoop!
Chat you look exactly the same rolling on the floor laughing I really like a well-trimmed beard but apparently that's as much work as being clean-shaven?
Red I may need to experiment with your mask kit for my next shopping day - I just queued for half an hour for the farmacia and they have no protective kit left - in fact laughed when I asked hopefully about gloves.

Funny thing the queue was only 8 people long and just a few weeks ago we'd all have been in the place at the same time poking around and buying other stuff as well. Now we stood well spaced in the street and as everyone is wearing different colour gloves and all the hands were going at once (everyone knows everyone else) it was quite a carnival atmosphere laugh

Most social outing I've had in weeks I may go queue tomorrow too innocent
Usha, you look very relaxed laugh thanks for that pic you stay safe too yay
Molly, oh hush we are asked to stay within 100m of the house. I bent the rules a bit to take the dog to the farmacia but had to take her back when I saw there was a queue, I always carry baggies but neither she nor I are good at looking nonchalent when she pees and we can't move swiftly on.

I hope your friend is keeping very fit in anticipation innocent
Mimi no more walking the pair of you need to jog gently instead. scold I have A Theory that the fitter and more active we are if the virus taps our shoulder, the better.

I will be thrilled if they end this by mid April (current deadline here) but also very surprised. I am braced for May. Beyond that I will probably go doolally.
Molly the other day she hit a surge of energy and tugged towards the open ground where I used to throw her ball for her, then grumbled all the way home because we couldn't go, but normally these days she's trailing patiently behind me instead of trying to tow me. As you say, just as well, but poor old girl doesn't really even want the two walks a day we take. I refuse to walk up and down in front of the house and going round the houses is a little longer than 100 m but has much more interesting smells for her.

Actually not seen a policia presence yet, we're very law-abiding around here so seem to be being left to ourselves as a result
The police will know what areas to concentrate on.
I think you should bring her to the best smelling areas.
A dog walk is about engaging all of their senses.
Well exactly and as she is now completely deaf and getting quite myopic her nose is more important than ever. It can take us 20 minutes to complete the circuit help
That's 20 mins out in the fresh air cheering
I find every excuse I can to go out.
That IS the excuse here. High street shops, farmacia, dog walking sigh we're asked to stay home and if staying home will end this sooner, I'll stay home.

Plus a weekly nip into the metropolis to do a stock-up shop party
Those are the only things we can go out for as well. Most people are not allowed go to work, unless deemed essential.
yes same here molly but I am special breed grin shimmy must isolate for 3 months up until now.

one of my sons lives in Scotland and he can work from home, the other way down South he delivered granite from Spain, so now has no work. He is thinking of delivery for hospitals etc.

teddybear
We no longer wear masks in the house and kept a 2 meter distance when walking last night!

;-)
Mostly I'm either wearing work gear and saw dust, or if I'm not working on my flat, PJ bottoms and t-shirt.

I've yet to unpack my clothes, apart from one decent outfit to go to the shops in.

I'm really looking forward to being covered in paint, rather than dust, but I've got a long way to go. sigh
Have you moved into a new apartment, Jac?
"Essential" tightened its belt another couple of notches, Molly - some comedian even suggested in a FB post on the Costa del Sol that cigs were coming off the list and started a run of note on the tabacos shops laugh

Post has dropped off the list, for one.

Red, poking my nose into the conversation, deliveries to hospitals would be incredibly good of him, what a great idea wow
Viv, as cigs are not available to buy in other establishments there, they would be silly to close the tobacco shops.
Everybody has a breaking point.
Chat, that rule really bugs me, you can live in the same house here but only one person allowed out at a time and expect to be grilled if you are walking together or in the same car. I can sort of see that they will pull over every car with more than one person but sheesh.

So, quiet walks, eh? conversing
As for post, our postmen now deliver groceries, meds etc to people who are stuck at home.
Molly, my friend in SA says no alcohol and no cigarettes (which are sold as in UK in booths within supermarkets) despite both the State President and his wife being smokers. Then the rule changed, no you can buy. Two hours later, no you can't.

She says it has now changed to yes you can so long as you are buying groceries but not otherwise. : confused I'm guessing a fair run there too before minds changed again. In part the problem is that you are not supposed by law to smoke within 50 metres of a child, which is a challenge in the average house.

Still, a 3 week lockdown without any vices hardly bears thinking about uh oh
Jac, sounds like you are now where I was late 2017 (and into 2018, sigh) wow lockdown is coming at a good time for you, so long as paint is still being sold?
I hate the government's who was flip-flopping like that. It is very unfair on their citizens.
It is in times like these that people need strong clear leadership
Molly, that's an excellent solution, delivering to homes, the postpersons are probably the best in the country at finding those more obscure addresses!

I did notice last week at the supermarket that either a lot of staff were doing their grocery shopping OR they were packing orders. For collection or to be delivered? either way I wish I had the Spanish to ask.
A lot of the supermarkets here do deliveries as well.
But as you say, the postal staff know all houses, and therefore also know where old/vulnerable people live so can check up on them .
Molly, I don't think it was the State President changing his mind constantly, he seems to be the best leader they could hope to have for such an impending crisis. But hopefully Luke or another South African can be more specific.
That's good to hear at least.
Countries need good leaders now.
Not like that idiot in Belarus who is going around hugging people and allowing sports and all other events to happen doh
Viv, you didn't catch my humor... the walks at 2 meters apart was a joke.
Masks in the house, also a joke.
This month, we have been together for hour-long trips to Miami 3 times a week and sometimes while out, do some grocery shopping about once a week.
We both wear masks at the market.
I have a bottle of 91% rubbing alcohol in the car for hand sanitizer.
Best of luck with it, Jac bouquet
Thanks, Moll. hug
yes jac I know about moving grin and you can make it an adventure a project or moan about it.

I can see which you are applause applause put your stamp on it I say I wish you all the fun and luck too. peace teddybear
Chat, I too was joking although those well-spaced walks are law here whether you live together or not. Where can I get a bottle of that rubbing alcohol rolling on the floor laughing I do have a tiny bottle of Angostura Bitters which I think, must check, is over 80% proof laugh
Luckily, in anticipation of living in the middle of nowhere, I stocked up on DIY materials and paint before I moved. Being thrifty with sand paper and belts doesn't make the job easy, but I don't want to run out before I'm done.

I've a long way to go before it gets satisfying. I hope I don't get painters block when the ground work is done, like yourself. laugh
Jac applause

I’ve never been much of a DIY person myself ( thankfully I had my very own Bangladeshi handyman back in Malaysia and now Art! laugh ), but I kinda feel excited for you grin

All the best with your new place, Jac! hug bouquet
I can't say I've ever had a Bangladeshi handyman and I'll thank you not to remind me of what I'm missing here in isolation, Mimi. laugh

Thankyou for the best wishes, though. wave
