The Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or MoCA, test discussed by President Trump and Chris Wallace is ‘not an IQ test,’ Dr. Ziad Nasreddine tells MarketWatch.
Dr. Ziad Nasreddine in 1996 developed and copyrighted the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test, which is a 10-minute examination usually performed with pen and paper that measures the strengths of different areas of the brain related to cognitive domains, such as short-term memory, spatial awareness and executive functioning. (Remote testing, including via an app on the Apple AAPL, +2.10% iPad, has been expanded during the pandemic.)
And he tells MarketWatch that the MoCA Clinic & Institute has been inundated with calls and emails over the past week or so, ever since President Donald Trump bragged in a phone interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity 10 days ago that he had recently “aced” a cognitive test at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Trump also said that medical staff were “very surprised” by how well he did. “They said, ‘That’s an unbelievable thing. Rarely does anybody do what you just did.’ ”
While the White House did not release any details of this most recent test, the president did take the MoCA exam in 2018, when he was said to have gotten a perfect score of 30, which has put this particular test in the spotlight. What’s more, during a second Fox News interview aired on Sunday, Chris Wallace told the president that the MoCA is “not the hardest test” and even posted graphics of one of the questions, which asked the test taker to identify drawings of animals. Trump responded by challenging his presumptive Democratic rival Joe Biden to “take a test right now.” What’s more, Trump said that the test questions get harder and that the MoCA exam question that Wallace shared was a “misrepresentation.”
“This is not an IQ test or the level of how a person is extremely skilled or not,” Nasreddine agreed in a call with MarketWatch. “The test is supposed to help physicians detect early signs of Alzheimer’s, and it became very popular because it was a short test, and very sensitive for early impairment.”
But as many doctors and armchair critics have been quick to argue on Twitter TWTR, +3.49% and Facebook FB, +1.40%, the MoCA exam should not be difficult for someone who is not cognitively impaired.

Biden misnames the person interviewing him ...
Starting @ 2:50 -
Biden appears unable to call to mind the Name of "... the man I'm running against".
A soft ball 7 1/2 minute interview -
The View ladies essentially carry him through to the end ...

And yes - I'm Fully aware of instances in which Biden comes off Much more lucid.
Such is the nature of the affliction - Some days worse & better than others.
But, this blog is about Trump's bragging about how well he did on the simple test and stating that Chris Wallace couldn't take the test and pass it. This was very recent.
1st vid in my 1st comment - Biden had to be reminded that he Was Talking With Chris Wallace!
Anyway -
The Don brags that he did better taking a test than Anyone who's taken Any test EVER!
That's NEWS?!?!
If he'd simply said something like, "I took a Cognitive Test and passed." ... THAT'd be News!
Agreed. The Don has a tendency to be a wee mite of a braggart.
And this time, about something that someone should not brag about at all.
However, at the time, the crime bill was in response to something needing to be done about crime.
It should not have been permanent though and won't be.
It definitely needs change now and I believe Joe can admit it's wrong and make positive changes.
Trump would make it worse. He's already turning the military on peaceful protesters.
He's already kidnapping protesters forcing them in unmarked vans by unmarked agents in Portland.
He's had 3 1/2 years to make changes and he has made just about every situation worse.
Joe has improved over the years. Trump has gotten much worse. Trump's time is almost up.
The last line in the article/blog;
the MoCA exam should not be difficult for someone who is not cognitively impaired.
The interviewer laughed and said that the questions aren't hard.

The MoCa test's not difficult if there are no holes in one's marble bag.
The Don took the test & during an interview he bragged about how well he passed it.
End of blog.
The problem is that he bragged about it and declared himself a great genius again and again and again.
Did I say "again"??
Anyway, if Biden takes it and scores 30 too are you going to say he's a great genius?
This blog is not about anyone else, except Trump and his cognitive test & interview.

The blog's not 'bout Me The Don did the bragging.
