He was a very inspirational person and made some really good music. Hope you don't mind my intrusion!

No intrusion... welcome!
The Miami Pop Festival where Hendrix headlined the event.
I was a musician and my band had a gig the first day so we didn't get to see him.
Our plans were to see him on the second day.
We made it to the festival and the weather wasn't very good.
Several bands performed mid-day in between sprinkles, but the afternoon brought heavy showers and the concert got rained out.

That would have been my only opportunity to see Hendrix live and I lost out due to the weather.
On that same day, Black Sabbath released their second studio album, Paranoid.
One of the most influential metal albums of all time.

Yes..
professor ....and 53 (?
Years ago he opened for the Monkees
And was booood off the stage...on 1 occasion.
Ticket to Ride / Beatles
Are you Experienced / Hendrix experience
Last train to clarksville / monkees
If I recall, Hendrix was booked to open for The Monkees on a 28 city tour.
His music didn't agree with the pre-teenage audience who went to see The Monkees and he dropped off the tour after 8 dates. Obviously, loud psychedelic rock wasn't what their ears wanted to hear.
While the Monkees gigs turned out to be a failure for Hendrix, his exposure was enough to gain recognition that was ultimately beneficial to his career.
I don't know what that producer was thinking.
The Partidge Family or the Beatles, or even The Muppets would
have been a much better match to The Monkees crowd. laugh

True story. Clapton and a list of other British guitarists were 'blown away' by Hendrix.

What a mismatch. doh
Torture... isn't it?

Indeed..
We think this was on purpose....just like the cancellation of $tar trek at 3 seasons. ( They knew they had enough episodes for ritual programming.)
Just like to -day...
