I got dilated today...

Eye exam. Originally scheduled for last year, pushed back as the doctor decided to take a holiday vacation. No cataracts, no signs of glaucoma. The blurred vision is because my left eye is weaker than the right and my standard glasses need to be changed.
I left the office with disposable sunglasses as blurred vision was at maximum. Good thing the vision center was only a mile from my home. I took the day off from work and it was a good thing as I had a splitting headache and couldn't focus for a few hours.
It was dark 7 hours later when I went grocery shopping and bright lights from car headlights had a slight blue 'edge' when I blinked. I'm thinking that was a reaction from the eye drops.
Hopefully, I'll be back in business tomorrow.

Don't drive.
in 2018 I had cataract surgery and lens replacement and can see clearly now. Not one single instance of pain. Sad part is I still can't drive. I have no right leg left to hit the gas peddle.
Take it easy & be careful when behind the wheel

Would you like me to describe my 10cm dilation when giving birth?
laugh That won't be necessary.
I witnessed the birth of my granddaughter and when my daughter's friend asked my thoughts on the experience, I replied "I couldn't eat for three days!"
Thanks Chat. I have 4 or 5 friends that happily drive me to where I might have to go. Also I have Visiting Angels and every week I get taken to the grocery store by them. I keep my car because it is a Chevrolet Impala. It's seat level is even with my wheelchair seat level and is easy to transfer in and out. SUV's and pickups make for a huge slide up and slide down on my slide board.

It actually sounds like your visit almost went good except for the dilation. I have for years had them do an optomap of my eyes, dialation and I are not friends. Insurance will not usually cover an optomap but I found them fairly reasonable. I pay 35 dollars I think. It is worth it to me. For quite a few years till they started making the optomap available I did without any dilation or anything blues now at this age I am really glad to have this choice. Something to think about for next time Chat. wave
OMG doh did not know what was going to be dilated fir a moment grin

Glad all went well and it was not what i thought rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
I also decided to get my eyes checked recently, as I hadn't done so in several years, and it is fully covered by insurance. I also discovered, that it's not a good time to do so, as MDs are booked solid for a month (or are on vacation). I finally found one who gave me an appointment within a week a few tons away.

His determination - "you have absolutely no signs of glaucoma nor macular degeneration and your vision is good. You have 20/25."

I said "no. My vision used to be good, until I got hit with a baseball in the eye. I used to have 20/10 vision."

He then used some sort of very salty eye drops and gave me a prescription for glasses.
Off I went to Walmart to get glasses ordered (on insurance). I don't really need them, unless I am driving at night and need to read signs in the distance. So, I got them to keep in the car.

Regardless, next time I'll make an appointment sometime other than the holiday season.cheers
After instilling the eye drops close your eyes for awhile that would help for the eye muscle to relax wine take care
Op i dont KNOW, but i would get eyes rechecked by a different doctor, just to make sure. And i would be sure to tell him about that blurred vision 7 hours after taking drops. Just a thought. Also, good luck and be extra careful when you dlrive!
