Wonderful Appliances
Yes, because I know you care soooo much! When I discovered the magical abilities of the rice cooker, I was smitten. Unbelievable! I could never screw up rice again! Did you know you can even dump flavored rice and/or Rice o’ Roni in this thing? Whoa! I will even admit when the cord to my rice cooker broke, I wrote the company a letter. Oh yes. A bona fide letter about the importance of that cord being replaced. Turns out, that particular cord was no longer in production. Oh sure, they sent me a new rice cooker, without a functioning cord! What a horrible irony…..
Then, I was introduced to the rice cookers' cousin - the crock pot. What a godsend. Dump anything in, and come back in 4 hours and you have a meal. Minimal prep, perfectly cooked meat, juicy vegetables, wow!
Unfortunately these appliances have been collecting dust. I can’t remember the last time I tried to cook, because I have been working so much I don’t even have time to grocery shop, much less try to cook some sort of meal. But, for a while there I was doing pretty good….
On a somewhat related note, my damn vacuum backfired on me last weekend. I’ve had that thing for about 10 years and not one peep. I covered my carpet with some carpet fresh and began vacuuming. *BOOM* Not sure what I ran over, but I’m pretty sure the neighbors alerted security. I seriously thought I had been shot by a sniper. This thing sounded like gunfire, and I was then surrounded by a huge plume of carpet fresh…the whole vacuum bag popped! I will say it gave me a great laugh!
I still haven’t replaced it, because I am not sure what is going on in the vacuum market these days…..at least my carpet still smells good? I guess I have to buy a new one to vacuum up all the carpet fresh..... lol
