Very Happy to be ALIVE !
There is a small segment of a moment, when one first awakes, where the subconscious hands the ball off to the conscious. Like, wake up dude. During that instant some confusion can exist. Naturally, the extent of that confusion can be influenced by several factors including; what one was dreaming, how long one was asleep, how one was woken up, how well rested one is, etc...Well, I have been battling a chest cold over the past few days. It began on Thursday night. Thursday was a warm one and at 5:30 pm we had our last softball practice of the season. Afterwards, one of my teammates asked me if I wanted to play some doubles tennis at his complex with him. I said "sure" and we proceeded to go there. He and I played doubles against 2 of his neighbors. We won 2 of 3 sets. However, it had gotten a lot chillier that night and I was dressed in only shorts and a T shirt. Combine that with sweating from running after tennis volleys and that is likely how I got my cold.
This cold has me a bit run down and last night was not a great night's sleep. I awoke often coughing and did not sleep well. Right before awaking, I dreamed that I was fighting a vicious grizzly bear and that we were tumbling together over a cliff. The dream was very vivid and all too real. Well, in reality I guess I probably wouldn't stand much of a chance against a grizzly bear and such a bear would be about twice as tall as me, so I guess it wasn't really real. Nonetheless, it certainly SEEMED real at the time. So, when I awoke this morning there was an instant, where I was just regaining consciousness and actually thought. "Oh my God, I'm alive ! I survived !"
I think I will celebrate with some breakfast.
But, first I gotta pee !
Hey, wait a minute, what are all these scratch marks on my back & butt ???

I'm glad it gave you a chuckle.
I just took a nap and thankfully, no lions, tigers, or bears woke me up this time.
