Russian social media abuzz with the rumor

The rumor is Ukraine has crossed the Dniepre River in force, and pierced the first Russian line in the vicinity of Kozachi Laheri and is already about 800 meters past that. A public satellite fly by of the area is still several hours away. There is concern Ukraine may also have gotten some vehicles across the river (somehow). The location of the incursion will provide opportunity for Ukraine to sever the E58 route. Previously Russian VDV (airborne (what remains of them) troops) had manned the line, but they were pulled out earlier this week and sent to fighting to the North and were supposedly replaced by regular infantry. As stated, this is still a not confirmed rumor on Russian Social Media not yet publicly confirmed by Ukraine. professor

The idea is to make her think what my suggested resolution may be, and what it entails, instead of calling me names. Could it be that "my" two state solution is not so unreasonable after all taken the circumstances into account.
Splitting the land in a Russian part and a West Ukraine part would stop the war for all time.
Or should we escalate, hmm? What do you think Fargo. You're no dumby, what is the best way forward accoring to you. Imagine you're the president of the United States. What would you do?
Sudetenland 2.0?
We all know how the first one played out!
Conrad, I suppose it all boils down to whom you trust to be
the better leadership (nicer people).
I don't trust Kiev, of more than just one reason.
But sure... I notice Eu, nato, Washington and the lot do.
Only they don't rally... u see that partnership gains the west as well as the Kiev elite.
So, that partnership that cost so much for the Ukrainian, people will go on sadly.

Where it all will end... you tell me.
Yea, put that comma one to the right...

Nite all
Do feel free to point out where I called you namesdunno

You made a remark that the British U.N speech was kindergarten book to which I replied " a bit like your remark"

You seem to be very good at coming up with solutions re Russia v Ukraine so why don't you put it to Putin and see what he thinks of splitting Ukraine in half and where the dividing line would actually be. Actually go and ask the people of whichever region he decides to have and ask them if they would mind being under Russian power.

Wonder what would happen if Putin was to attack Norway and wanted to divide that. Split down the middle or across. Just asking.
Aha.
So here are the bits Putin wants under the Russian umbrella as far as I can tell:
Krim pinensula, Kherson Oblast south of the river, Zaporizhia Oblast south of teh river and the whole of Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast.
He is holding most of it per today. I don't think he intend to go much further west than that, unless to keep bargaining cards on hand.

Well if 1/3 of our inhabitants was Russian and we'd been bullying them for some time we might get visited by an army (literally speaking) of T90's as well. I have asked myself, If Putin rolled in here of some reason (never gonna happen) should we shoot at them or ask questions first. Me I would like to ask some questions. Like "hi what do you want?"

Answer me this practical questin Tiger-moth. If on the 25th of February last year the leadership in Kiev sat down with him and asked just that "what you want?" what do you think Putins answer would have been?
The name calling? Putin worshipper. Just cos I don't see the big bad wolfie you see.
Yes the war is horrible. Any war is. But if you see no reasonable motive,
well then the monster idea pop in. As fed by western media.
I see motive for him, a good one too. Has nothing to do with worshipping.
Has to do with refusing the monster framing of him.

This war could have been stopped at any moment by the west. Til this day. Why you think Trump is convinced he can stop it in 24hours? Ahhh...he is delusional too.. oh, I forgot.

No u go warship, but let me do the rational thinking. This war should have been stopped long ago.
And the earlier, the more land Ukraine would have kept too. Now it's rather late.
If you don't want a nuke in your head, you give Putin what Putin asks at this point.
That is the catch 22: Win and get nuked! Even Victoria Nuland knows this by now.
So.. less bloodshed please in the ramins of this lost battle. Would be aprechiated.
Up with the white flag. It's over.
You guys are still booting the Ukrainian's out Tiger as you said in 2025, you guys should show more appreciation and gratitude to the people that have been fighting your proxy war on your guys behalf..
I heard the other day that Zelensky fired/sacked some of the army recruitment people, for recruiting disabled men into the Ukraine army;;; I haven't hear anything about child recruitment yet..
I wonder what a Russian invasion of Briton would be like Tiger ? It would be a glorious site wouldn't it.. wave
Tiger...
How terribly delusional it is to hear someone expouse their ideasidea regarding the division of Ukraine...
Hark fellow people the sage has spoken...professor

But he forgot one thing...he is on CS dating site not a participant at the peace summit with actual world leaders roll eyes

laugh
A Russan invasion of just one person?

Did you have any anyone in particular in mind? laugh

You want to see the war stopped? Have Putin tell the Russian Army to leave Ukraine (including Crimea which is a part of Ukraine) at once and cease all hostilities towards Ukraine.

There is no reason for Ukraine to cede it's invaded lands to Russia. When someone steals things from your home and kidnaps your children, what kind of person are you that you think it is a good thing and they should have them?
You have been following the wrong social media for a picture of what is going on, obviously.

Putin's spokes people have already stated on official Russian TV the goals after Ukraine are Paris, Poland, and Berlin before going into the UK. None of them have retracted those words. If Ukraine falls, it is Putin's stated intent Europe will follow.

The other part is it doesn't matter too much what he intended. The Russian Army is visibly staggering on it's last legs and is currently totally incapable of moving further West. Of course if the West was stupid enough to convince Ukraine to pause and give Russia's army time to reform and regroup in 5 or 10 years they would indeed try again.

An army of T90 tanks? An Opium fueled dream of Putin's moronic supporters. Russian T90 production never exceeded 1,400 units from the Uralvagonzavod factory. Production ceased there in the late 1990s. By September 1995 only about 110 had been produced. 120 were delivered to the Russian ground forces. The T90S tank was produced in India (about 1,400 of them) under license but were not shipped out of India. In 2006 Russia's Army received 18 new T0-A tanks (basically a copy of the Indian version, but with active IR night sights).By 2007 Russia's military had a grand total of 334 T90 tank variants, split among all Russian military services including Naval Marines. The Russian army received another 62 T90 variants each year until 2011 when orders were suspended. A program to upgrade the existing T90 tanks to T90M tanks was begun in 2020. In July 2021 the Russian Defense Ministry announced the T90Ms would be replaced by the T14 Armada. Putin then ordered a halt to Armada production after fewer than 15 had been built. Russian sources indicate that although the upgrade to T90M program was greatly slowed by the sanctions over 100 had been modified before the sanctions had effect. Ukraine has to date documented the destruction of about 75 T90 tanks of different variants. It is sometimes hard to identify what variant it was due to battle damage or being behind enemy lines. There may be a photo of it blown in half and burning, but that doesn't tell you if it was a type A or an S. Sp figure 259 remaining T90s. Statistically, in any army usually only 2/3 are battle ready on any day. That's not much of an invasion force to use against a NATO country.
They were fired for accepting bribes from people trying to evade service and kickbacks from those wishing entry at a higher rank. They will probably be jailed too.
Noticing the Kerch bridge seems to be out again. At this time there is no supply route to Ukraine or Russian occupied areas near Kherson. This will probably happen every few days until the entire length is down.

Here today Russian tourists with a clear view of the Kerch bridge, who had believed the Kremlin's promises about how safe it is on the beaches of Crimea have their noses rubbed in the reality that not all the missiles missed the bridge they wanted to go home over. before the Army of Ukraine arrives.

Carry on with your rational thinking but please don't try to talk me down for having a different slant on things.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings as they say and Putin's bank balance says it all. He's your typical oligarch just like your fat cats in the West that you keep droning on about including your pal Trump.

I seem to recall you stating that Putin should never have invaded Ukraine but now he's the greatest thing since sliced bread according to you and threatening a nuclear war. No winners only losers then.

sigh
You really need to play catch up and get your facts right. Wonder why so many refugees are still coming in to the U.K by the boat load from all over not just Ukraine. Many of those given temporary visas have left he country already and returned home or were you unaware of that too.

As for our proxy war doh

We're being invaded by the boat load from all over at the moment so nothing new there Butcherlaugh
In short ,probably all the access to the Black Sea.
Just as a matter of interest with regards your comments about Putin's threat of a nuclear war,do you really think that he would risk his relationship with China as I don't think his allies , let alone the West that you despise so much ,would be too pleased do you
You speak like a drama director here. Point is the Rissian minority in the region.
The ones you recommend to move before being wiped out. I suspect you wanna first push the Russian army out, then deport these millions of civilians. Am I right? There was 10million or thereabout at the outbreak of the war last year. All these ten million or what is now left of it, pushed back in to mother Russia, that is your solution Ken?
I know you pretend they are Ukrainians.
That one is easy to counter: He should not have, cos he would meet no understanding as shown by you and Ken (that is number one) and two: I know the Americans. When they are hellbent they are hellbent.
Means war will go on like this and cost will be too high as seen. Basically I said and still think it was a too high risk. Putin was of another opinion. Dosen't mean I don't support his aims, which are peaceful nomather Kens rethoric. He just wants to secure the area, east Ukraine and make it a safe home form Russians who already live there. Same as he did with Krim in 2014. That's it.
12.08.2023 - Update :
Russia on Saturday said Ukraine attempted to strike the Crimean Bridge with a S-200 missile, adding the missile was detected and shot down.

“Today, the Kyiv regime attempted to launch a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge with an air defense guided missile S-200, converted into a strike version. The Ukrainian missile was promptly detected and intercepted in the air by Russian air defense systems. There were no damage and no injuries,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry later said one hour before the first attack, another missile was shot down over the Kerch Strait.

Separately, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said on Telegram that two missiles were shot down, repeating the Defense Ministry's statement that there was no damage to the bridge.

The Russian ruble temporarily fell to its lowest level since March 2022 on Monday morning as financial markets digested the fallout from Yevgeny Prigozhin’s failed insurrection against Russia’s military leadership.

The Russian currency initially slumped by more than 2%, falling past 87 against the U.S. dollar in the first minutes of trading in Moscow — its weakest level since March 29, 2022 — before recovering some losses later in the session.

The ruble has traded with extreme volatility in the 16 months since Russia invaded Ukraine as the West has targeted Moscow’s foreign currency reserves and crucial energy exports through sanctions designed to cripple Russia’s economy.

After falling beyond 100 against the dollar in the days after Russia invaded, strict capital controls, surging energy prices and a collapse in Russian imports pushed the currency to become the world’s best-performing currency for much of 2022. But Europe halting purchases of Russian oil and gas along with measures such as the G7’s oil price cap have put pressure on the ruble once more over the last six months.

The ruble has lost 23% so far in 2023.
This is how an abusive reationship works.

Y'know, when mum goes along with whatever dad wants, however unreasonabe his demands. She does it to avoid a beating, or death, or in fear of her children getting hurt.

Maybe dad isn't a big bad wolfie. Maybe he's a weak man who thinks abusive behaviours make him look big and tough. Maybe it's his strategy to avoid any risk of getting hurt himself because he feels too fragile to cope with that.

The trouble is, he fails to understand that in behaving like a tyrant he depletes himself as well as everyone else.

Tiger's comment earlier, the one you said was a nursery story, is how healthy relationships work.
Pleased? Threat of nuclar war has been on the table since early 2022. It was on the table in 1962 also.
Kennedy was abit of a tyrant in 62.

Try to understand Putins motives Jac.

What are they by the way? Can you remind me (in short, the main points).
Like mum trying to pacify and navigate dad when he storms through the front door after work, ready to take out his feelings of inadequacy on her?

Give him whatever he wants in the moment to avoid violence now, regardless of the consequences, the increased demands, in the future?

Whatever happens, mum can never escape. She has a choice between pacifyng dad, or standing up to him.

And it's awful when she tries to stand up to him, isn't it?
No. I imagine it more like her with a 22 caliber hidden behind her back asking to make sure, before she shoot him in the legs, and if that don't do the trick aim higher up.
So you tell me now, what does Putin want.
So you blame Ukraine for not nurturing Russia?

You blame Ukraine for wanting to be independent, for wanting autonomy, for wanting to be seen as whole country in their own right?

You blame Ukraine for emasculating Russia with their resistance to Russia's demands, threats and violence and you think that's unfair?
they were quite alright, until Saint Vlad stirred them up,same way he did in Georgia!
Seems my allusion to the Sudetenland-Crisis somehow went over your head, yet Putin is using the very same playbook Hitler did!
The throne.?

Think back over Russia's past and the ridding of the Tsars ,whom Putin now glorifies. I think he sees himself as the new Tsar of Russia and it could lead to his downfall. How did he become so wealthy ? Has he truly got the people of Russia's interests at heart or just his own?

The evolution of communist and post-Soviet leadership into today's supposed democracy of Russia has all but failed. Ask yourself why Grand.

Just this average person's take on what I see and feel not what I read.handshake
Commin...stay on topic. what are Putins goals Jac. Show me your inner thoughts on that, not some speculation about how much of a woman beater/hater I might be just cos I love Trumps policies (lol)
Will you answer it now?
The way I see it if you put yourself into Putins shoes and past experience with the west.
All he wants is for USA/NATO to stop putting missiles on Russias doorstep. He wants solid assurances that holds water, unlike the Minsk 1 & 2 agreements made by the west just so that time could be had for Ukraine could build and strengthen its military capabilities. These are facts confirmed by Germany's Merkel.
This war would never had taken place if the agreements were kept.
What's happening in Ukraine has got absolutely nothing to do with the past. The past has only helped opened Russian eyes to the inbred HATRED that the USA has for russia, this can be seen by the lies and propaganda being spread by this war mongering nation that always thinks that 'someone' is out to get them. They are indoctrinated with these fears from a young age through their parents and media.
I too was brainwashed and was forced to fight the Russians and Cubans in Angola while the USA had other plans for SA.
The biggest evil on this planet is the USA. Not so much the people but the leaders and deep state of the USA that
Thankfully experience and time opened my eyes once I became a PMC.
When reading some of these comments I often ask myself how is it possible that some people can live with so much hatred in them, especially at their age, 60 plus.
No peace will ever be found with this type of inbred hatred by the Americans and their puppets toward others.
Nice read Luke.

My country's history stinks Luke but one hopes that we have moved on from our past .

I understand to a degree about U.S influence but some people choose to put my tiny country in the same bracket and assume that we too hate all things Russian. Yes we have supported Ukraine, but so have many other countries across the World.

I do still think that Putin is in it for self gain and you have to wonder where all his billions have come from or does that not bother you? No good shouting down the fat cats if you are one yourself surely. I also don't think he'll stop there either to be honest.

The whole World needs a bloody good shake up and start to learn to get on . Won't happen in my lifetime if ever.sigh
Good speach Luke.

I will add, there was a civil unrest. Kiev presented it as an uprising without other reaons than economical gain supported by Russia. Some strategic planning from Moscow supposedly.
From the Russian view (Donbass majority) the idea was to get free
from Kievs rough bandits in azov gear harrasing them year after year, even if
mother bear pitched in at times. Enough was enough for Putin. So he sat out on a Krim annaxation 2.0, unless if Kiev softened up in the last minute. The opposite happend.

Nato expansion and American imperialsim on one hand-
and the war Kiev fought on own citizens on the other.
Those two.
No, I'm pointing out that you view these tyrannical leaders and their actions from the perspective of your childhood experiences.

You recognise the abusive relationship, but your coping strategies are those of a child victim in a skewed family.

It is on topic because the blog is fundementally about an abusive relationship. How we view the conflict and it's develpments depends upon our knowledge and/or personal experience.
Ok, Jac.
Answer my question:
what do Putin want with this war ?

If you don't answer that now, you're basically showing
how you are a major gas lighter,
seemingly helping me.. or the world I live in.. to get rid of some trouble or whatnot.
Like healing me from a twisted view or something. Thanks for your effort...
but for now...

What does that leader of Russia want with all this?

Last chance mf... as said by Samuel Jackson in Jackie Brown.
