Vultures here we come.
With the discovery of oil in the Orange Basin off the Namibian coast, will most probably mean the 'homing in' of countless vultures/ criminal elements from around the globe.I lived in Namibia for 10 years, it's a wonderful clean and orderly country.
Wonder what the future holds.

Yes you are totally right in your assumption that it makes a country wealthy in ways only money can. You say look at Qatar, and I say look at Nigeria. Heard from Nigerian business men how Shell basically abandoned the place due to certain reasons. Lets say if one doesn't 'toe the line' bad things can go wrong and leave the country in a mess for years and years to come.

Cant argue with that. Namibia's population was/is one of the lowest on the globe. Many will benefit for sure but my guess is that much misery and hardship will be caused by thugs moving in and taking advantage of the very friendly, rather toooo down to earth population. Hope nothing happens like in Nigeria.

Heard somewhere that the reserves in the namibian orange basin exceed 67 billion barrels. Thats a lot of oil. Not 100% sure tho
