Dedicated to animal lovers and to their pets to be

Her eyes tenatively met mine, as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the many kennels. wow

I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. hug

I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. dancing dog

As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. blushing

I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. crying

Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them. angel

As she read my kennel card, I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.

She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. kiss
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her.

Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. hug

A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. thumbs up

Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright, that I instantly jumped into her arms. applause

I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. dancing dog

I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. grin

I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.

So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.

So many more to be saved. At least I could save one. hug

I rescued a human today. dancing dog

Come to your nearest shelter, so my pals can rescue you. hug

only if you pay or their food jim , I have a cat that cost me $25.00 per week to feed wave
Awww, ya jim those poor animals who are left in shelters makes me wonder why people get pets and then later leave them.

Animals have feelings too and if raised as puppies or kittens they look at the human who raised them like its their parent.

I cant go into a pet shelter because I would want to take home half of them. lol.. Cant do it right now because with my work, im too busy to be able to be a good pet owner.
V - food is definitely important. Perhaps they would be better off not getting a jaguar, like you have. cats meow

S - You might not make the best pet owner, but it's better than death row. dancing dog
laugh Virgo.. your cat must be big as a house if it needs that much food.. I think its sweet though that you take good care of it. thumbs up
ya jim but i cant rescue all the animals there..plus with my work, im sometimes gone for 15 hours..i live in a condo too and they keep changing the rules here. plus the cost of if anything needs to be done at the vets..Being single, im totally supporting myself..if i was rich i would of course take a few of those cute animals home..my family took two kittens from the shelter and so did some of their friends.

i like animals but i feel they deserve a good home with people who have the time to take proper care of them.
Then, at least copy & paste my blog to your e-mail pals. peace
ok jim..anyone i know who is wanting a pet i will recommend them to get the pet from a shelter.. thumbs up
For all the bragging I do about Puerto Rico, one real shame on the Island is the stray animals . I don't know what it is that makes someone abandon there pets, but it happens all too frquently . I guess it is a case of " out of sight, out of mind ". I help several organazations that rescue and find homes ( real loving homes ) for the satos we get . For all the ones here looking for " true love " you will never do better than that furry four legged friend . . . .dancing dog cats meow
laugh In my neighborhood there is a cat with a collar on it that a lady owns and every night starting around 8 pm that cat hides under a car in the parking lot and starts yelling loud off and on for hours.

It has a owner but keeps doing this every night. She said it has a wild streek and the cat refuses to stay indoors..so she lets it roam around all day and night..I guess it comes in when it wants to be fed though. laugh Right now its outside doing its usual yelling off and on..This goes on untill at least 3 am every night.
Here's the cats in your neighborhood Swiss;

laugh

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing ya jim..whats up with cats wanting to mate under cars or near them? this one is a mixed breed cat that has leopard spots and looks like a regular cat with leopard spots.

aparantly the lady paid a big amount of money for this cat but its wild as all get out. yep, every night it does its usual cat yelling..one other lady in my building has a large black female cat that was spade..i think the leopard cat is trying to call it out to mate. lol laugh
Those leopard cats are more wild.
They are known as Bengal cats.
They are a mixture of a normal
domestic cat and a larger Asian cat.
Man, if 2 of those go feral, there's going to be some serious environmental issues. doh
ya but its small..looks in the face like a regular cat and body is very small, but has leopard spots..ya she said its a mixed breed, but ive never seen one like this untill she bought it.

she said it has natural wild tendencies and the cat refuses to stay indoors..ive seen it hunt birds too and caught one.
she feeds it but aparantly it likes live food once in awhile.
The black cat in my buildint is spade..so the leopard looking cat cant mate with it, but my guess is one of these days another cat in the neighborhood will.. this leopard looking cat keeps yelling every night all night long..you probably can hear it in the next neighborhood it yells so loud.
Well, with all that calling he/she is doing, if there's another one within a 10 mile radius, there's going to be some serious future problems.
well i have to say though, that leopard looking cat is way too tiny to hurt a human..its very small..even if someone fattened it up it wouldnt ever get big enough to do any serious damage. its got tiny little teeth too.
The cat itself is probably 4 generations away from being a wild Asian Cat. However, it's thus got about 1/8 of those genes.
It finds another of it's type and potentially its down to 1/4.
Another generation perhaps down to 1/2.
These Asain cats are bigger and more athletic and bring down bigger prey. I'm not saying adult humans, but a lot larger than a mouse.
Believe it or not, I have less of a problem with that, IF they keep the jaguar in it's natural range.
I saw a National Geographic special on 2 orphaned cheetah cubs that were raised by this guy in Africa. He wanted to raise them and then set them free. It didn't work out quite as well as planned, but the cats themselves were no problem, even after years of being in the wild. They still treated him as family.
The problem was, they didn't know how to deal with the local lions and one yearling cheetah brother got killed.
They relocated the other to a preserve.

And I'm sure you've seen the very famous & touching story about Christian the lion;

Don't get me wrong. There are obviously dangerous possibilities.
There have been lion & tiger trainers who have been killed.
But, these have often been associated with the stress of crowds, tricks, etc..

The bottom line is that precautions have to be enacted and the people at risk have to remain the owners. It's THEIR choice.
When other people are at risk and the environment is at risk, then I'm whole heartedly against it.
I did get my dog from a shelter. Got her in 2005.
That doesn't surprise me YW. You da man thumbs up
I buy the cheapest cat food I can get , but the supermarkets hit us pet lovers in our pockets , milk $3.00 per litre , petrol $2.09 cents a litre , diesal $1.64 cents per litre

wave
Don't you have a boat Virgo ?
You could feed your cat fish.
He/she would love that ! cats meow
yes I do jim , but it still being built , over $80,000 spent on it now so far , and that includes ,the mig welder , the generator to run the mig , and a truck , to pick up the steel , and the argoshield gass bottles and may be after I spend more money on a bigger truck tractor unit for $14,000 and a low bed 10 meter trailer $9,000 to put the boat on to move it to the sea wave
Jim.The spots on those animals are like that cat but this cat is so tiny, its like 1/10 th the size of those..
No, I didn't think it was a cheetah Swiss. laugh
I was posting those for other reasons.

Here's more on the Asian Leopard cat;

hey Jim, it's so sweet of pets to help peeps stay happy hug
btw Virgo, doesnt ur cat bring his prey to u? so u both wud be able to save on foodrolling on the floor laughing tongue
mine doesnt go outdoors, so we only hv flies may bugs and sum other small suff roll eyes
it sits at the door way and looks at the birds and wags his tail wave
some breeds lose in natural instincts, thought they can be revived.
it happens when our pets watch other "wilder" creatures or it's we who shud show them what real hunting means laugh
I took the remote control off my cat, he was watching Wildlife Documetaries...wow cheers
thanks for rescute her!! ;)
