Dedicated to animal lovers and to their pets to be
Her eyes tenatively met mine, as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the many kennels.I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.
I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card, I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me.
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her.
Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright, that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.
So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.
So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.
Come to your nearest shelter, so my pals can rescue you.

Animals have feelings too and if raised as puppies or kittens they look at the human who raised them like its their parent.
I cant go into a pet shelter because I would want to take home half of them. lol.. Cant do it right now because with my work, im too busy to be able to be a good pet owner.
S - You might not make the best pet owner, but it's better than death row.
i like animals but i feel they deserve a good home with people who have the time to take proper care of them.
It has a owner but keeps doing this every night. She said it has a wild streek and the cat refuses to stay indoors..so she lets it roam around all day and night..I guess it comes in when it wants to be fed though. Right now its outside doing its usual yelling off and on..This goes on untill at least 3 am every night.
aparantly the lady paid a big amount of money for this cat but its wild as all get out. yep, every night it does its usual cat yelling..one other lady in my building has a large black female cat that was spade..i think the leopard cat is trying to call it out to mate. lol
They are known as Bengal cats.
They are a mixture of a normal
domestic cat and a larger Asian cat.
she said it has natural wild tendencies and the cat refuses to stay indoors..ive seen it hunt birds too and caught one.
she feeds it but aparantly it likes live food once in awhile.
It finds another of it's type and potentially its down to 1/4.
Another generation perhaps down to 1/2.
These Asain cats are bigger and more athletic and bring down bigger prey. I'm not saying adult humans, but a lot larger than a mouse.
I saw a National Geographic special on 2 orphaned cheetah cubs that were raised by this guy in Africa. He wanted to raise them and then set them free. It didn't work out quite as well as planned, but the cats themselves were no problem, even after years of being in the wild. They still treated him as family.
The problem was, they didn't know how to deal with the local lions and one yearling cheetah brother got killed.
They relocated the other to a preserve.
And I'm sure you've seen the very famous & touching story about Christian the lion;
Don't get me wrong. There are obviously dangerous possibilities.
There have been lion & tiger trainers who have been killed.
But, these have often been associated with the stress of crowds, tricks, etc..
The bottom line is that precautions have to be enacted and the people at risk have to remain the owners. It's THEIR choice.
When other people are at risk and the environment is at risk, then I'm whole heartedly against it.
You could feed your cat fish.
He/she would love that !
I was posting those for other reasons.
Here's more on the Asian Leopard cat;
btw Virgo, doesnt ur cat bring his prey to u? so u both wud be able to save on food
mine doesnt go outdoors, so we only hv flies may bugs and sum other small suff
it happens when our pets watch other "wilder" creatures or it's we who shud show them what real hunting means
