House Cleaning
If you could afford it, would you hire someone to clean your home?Rich people with expensive houses seem to do this. They have plenty of vases to dust and floors to clean.
I've heard that in some places, it's fairly common to hire someone to clean your house/apartment as there are many people willing to work for modest pay.
I don't know if I could do it. It would seem like I'd be admitting some weakness and I might even be embarrassed when they clean someplace (all the places ) I've missed (ignored ).
Could you do it? If it was affordable... would you have someone come clean your home?

Hours in the day ... yes ... I can see that ... for me this was part of the equation when I stopped doing my own car repairs ... for the time it would take me, I was better off going to work and paying the mechanic who could do it better and quicker.
A stranger in your home though... could you make that work for you?
Yes... being able to admit when you need help ... that is part of the decision isn't it?
House cleaning sure can be fun!
Let's not forget to mention PRIVACY cos after all we're a village and staff loves to talk and laugh - mainly about their bosses and I'm glad I've tuned out of that as well - some things I really don't need to know about my neighbors
So, I've to get back to my laundry..
I think it depends,if you are busy or lazy man, then it's important to let someone come for 1 hour p/d or twice a week.I can accept that if i have a "special circumstance" but not because i am rich or lazy, but because i want to keep my private life away from any one. It's good to help some people and let them come and work in my garden, instead of giving them direct money.
No way!
As long as im energetic and i can do them my self nop. Only if i to busy and not have time but im scared if she is to young she my clean my man too :P
Look what Sur was thinking!
Are you by any chance procrastinating on your household chores by blogging?
It's fairly normal here to hire household help; in Belgium there even is a system with service cheques, so it's subsidized for private users (no companies). The system does help people with jobs and an income that is above minimum wage.
I never hired anybody to clean up after me, since I have plenty of time to do so myself and I would probably be one of those types that would clean up before the help would come
My sister is a mum of 2 with a very busy work schedule and a mountain of laundry always growing faster... she hires a help for the ironing and doing some occasional chores, one afternoon a week. Think I would do too if I was in the same situation.
That's why I prefer to have a small house myself so I don't have many spaces to be cleaned up to unless if there's emergency that is not enable me to do it myself, I may consider to pay someone to do it
What if she wants you to wear the outfit so she can watch you while cleaning?
Gloria - Coming home to a clean house... a bit of a dream with children (of any age) it seems.
It would be nice to have room in the budget though, wouldn't it? Perhaps a sort of part-time nanny/housekeeper ... even just for a couple of hours a day.
Bronze33 - That's one way to go. Someone who can give 'everything' the white glove treatment.
You make a couple of good points.
Sometimes it is a way to provide some income for someone... something we could do for ourselves but wouldn't mind providing a few hours of employment for someone else. It is a good way to help someone without thinking of it as charity... they earn it... no debts, no guilt... honest work for honest pay.
I know some who devote countless hours to their job (and are paid well)... They hire someone to clean so they can devote their 'cleaning time' to their work.
Privacy is different for each of us... common spaces in the home and kitchen/bath require the most attention... I don't think I'd mind having someone go through things there.
... or find someone to help ... part of the price of luxury I think.
Lazly - Hi!
So you would protect your territory ... your home and your man ... both for you to take care of. Well, of course, he should also be taking care of the home (and you ).
vyoleta - Sounds like an easy decision for you. Just have one of the gents from the service Bronze33 recommends and you'll be all set! ... well, your home would be clean/tidy ... and you might even enjoy "cleaning day".
In truth... I do value blogging more than cleaning. People are more interesting... more enjoyable than dust and dirt... which I'll get to... a bit here and there... that's my style for the mundane things like cleaning... I'll catch up the dishes... or 1 load of laundry... or iron a few shirts... a couple of chores each day so nothing gets too far behind.
Ru - It would seem that you have the whole thing figured out! A couple of young folk visiting Uncle Ru for lunch ... a few chores ... and a pay day!
(Sounds like we should order a few of those "Roomba" sweeper/vacuum things I mentioned earlier. )
A conservative home... not too big so not so much to clean. Very practical.
Sometimes it might still be nice to have help... that seems smart too.
Would it be okay to have a big game room in the small house? ... Perhaps an addition... a place for the big TV (for sports and movies) ... perhaps pool ... ping pong ... darts ... an indoor swimming pool ... tennis ... okay... guess the play room might be bigger than the house ... but I'd be willing to clean it.
Rich, if that was your home, I could only wish to live closer to you so I'd have chance to pop in to play ping pong with you...if you play it Do you play darts and (lawn) tennis? Interesting
Play room Dancing is my sport, if I had play room in the house, it would most likely turn into a dancing studio with mirror on the walls and I wouldn't mind to clean it either.
All this time... turns out it's all about the gloves!
(Thanks for visiting my blog! )
Alright... going to need 2 play rooms it seems ... mirrors for the dance studio wouldn't mix well with some of the toys I'd like to have around ... okay then ... I'm already thinking about designs ... we'll need that winning lottery ticket though ... could be expensive.
I like your ideas! ... so nice to see you.
Daydreaming is fun... I agree.
Jillll - Thank you for your kind words.
It's the weekend now... my next blog will be a bit more of a thinker... if you're up for it.
You cracked me up over here Love the idea though Who knows?
Play room
See you around here and there
