Where everyone knows your name...
There is a certain comfort level when everyone knows who you are, you look around you at familiar faces and can't imagine life without those people in it. However, what about when your friends are ever evolving as you change residence; take your next journey; move on in life???Recently I had a small accident and I didn't think to pick the phone up and ask for help, I thought that being as independent as I was , I could handle the situation myself. Although, I couldn't... finally I had to reach out to someone for assistance. I question whether it's pride on my behalf that stops me from asking for help.
When you are quite used to controlling everything in your life, it's not easy to let go. It's not easy to accept that others are there who care about your welfare and what you are going through in life. When you are have walked alone for awhile, you forget you are not just another face in a market place to some people.

I guess my gauge was out a little this week, as I have had offers flooding in from people offering to assist. Sending messages enquiring how I am... Word spreads quickly in country towns.
