and today...

regardless of the abysmal weather...

I ventured there to take a walk. There are some advantages to cold, dismal days...

and that is , other people will avoid the park.

I was fortunate to have the park to myself and got to see a few wallabies and a lot of birds.

I have no photos of any of the wildlife because they move too quickly for me to shoot them. laugh With a camera I mean!

After completing the walk up and down gullies and through some beautiful landscape, I was very happy to return to Wolfy (my chariot) and drive home. Even the drive to and from the park is scenic.

Oddly enough...I sort of do work in tourism. laugh
Welela... It was incredibly peaceful. I have been to this location once before and did a shorter walk... one that didn't leave me questioning my sanity...and there were only a handful of people there that day too. :)
No one should question your sanity at all Abagail. I think it is great that you go outside in the bush and enjoy Mother Nature. No sign of Father Sun that day, but the beauty is still there for you to enjoy and I see you really did do that. I'm off into my forest today, it is so dry here it is a danger for forest fire all the time, so no flame allowed at all. But the leaves are getting bigger and bigger and it is so beautiful to be allowed into nature. So hope we will get some rain soon to keep it safe in Nature. Keep on letting them beautiful pictures of your coming, I love it and I feel sort of being with you in the wilderness. hug

The driving force to take you there is...your sensuality. thumbs up
Wow! the photography is ecstatic...perfectly depicting the serenity of nature. thumbs up thumbs up
"A spiritual sensuality"....I meant. gift
Enjoy your forest walk, Welela. We both have an affinity for Nature.

I need to make more time for walking,
Thank you, Iotaoo....I am very much a "point and shoot" person with photography
Hi Abagail
Great pics. In school we were taught that most of Oz is just desert wastelands and then we see pics like this. You do a great job introducing your country to the rest of the world.thumbs up

Hi Abagail, wave thanks for sharing the photos, nice to see some different vegetation than we have around here.

The weather looks equally wet to what we had here a while ago. mumbling any plans coming over to Ireland again? conversing
Catfoot, it's interesting how we often get misconceptions how other countries or areas are like. I always thought that Texas was going to be all desert... Until I spent a couple of weeks driving around their hill country. Which is spectacular by the way.

Gippsland , where I live is quite green. If you go to Tasmania in Australia, it will remind you a little of England.
Hello K,

Completely different to Ireland here. Ireland is so tame ... by comparison. It's tranquillity is different ... More hmmm... perfect. Our landscape is quite diverse, the scent is so interesting when you are out there walking. I took the Stringbark Ridge Track... If you look at a couple of the photos, you will see the bark of that particular tree just lying there. :)

No plans to travel at all this year, K... I am slowing down focussing on a few other things that need to be done.
Hi Abagail, I haven't been in Australia yet, but it was interesting to see how different vegetation in NZ was compared to Ireland.

Wishing you best of luck with your plans for this year. bouquet
I loved New Zealand too. Perhaps for it's simplicity. It's like turning Australia back in time for me, which... isn't a bad thing. What I learned while I was there is that there were no native animals in that country, everything has been introduced. They have heaps of birds and lizards though.

Thank you, K. It's rather nice to see you, even though ... I wish you to leave one day after finding blissful happiness.
Thanks Abagail, wishing you the same in regards to the blissful happiness. hug

I'm not looking for it on here though and I am happy at the moment, so you might see me hanging around the forum and blogs for a while. wave
Well I enjoy reading your comments, so I am glad you are around. I read more than I comment on.

I was looking back on my car here thinking that it was the only wet day we had this week, and I went bushwalking THAT day. The sun is out again this morning. laugh
If you're in the mood to do something, weather shouldn't stop you. dunno

It's finally getting spring here, soon it'll be winter for you, bushwalking then mightn't be as easy as it is now.
I agree, and rarely let weather stop me from doing anything. I guess the good part about being out there on the wet day is that it gave me a day of doing washing with good weather, allowing everything to dry. ( I DO live such an exciting life laugh )

I love Spring... It was Summer that I was in Ireland last year. The heat mixed with a lack of air conditioning wasn't brilliant, but it was so beautiful to be out walking in that sun.
Sounds similar to my life Abagail - I did my washing Saturday and still have to do some tidy up. blues

You were lucky catching an actual summer here in Ireland, it's the best summer I saw in the 9 years living here. laugh I basically never use the aircon in my car, just the heater. conversing

I have to get to know the area where I live better, walking is one way to do so and I have to get myself going this summer.
Ahhh yes, the private life of domestic goddesses. laugh Seriously I have given up believing that I will ever have all of my housework done!

laugh

I always recommend getting out in Nature and walking... it clears your mind. Ireland was such a beautiful place to walk around AND .... YOU don't have snakes!! Win-win! laugh
