Landscape painting
... an hour ago, I wandered out to the garden to take a few photos... I take a lot of photos of my garden. However, it feels like I need to lately.I will be in Ireland before the week is out and I hear the weather is dismal...
...when I was there in July, the weather was perfect...
...so it seems natural that I should return to see the "Real Ireland".
However, right now, my garden has a spectacular array of flowers.
It seems I might miss a little bit of the Spring display this year while I am off traveling again...
...even when I return to Australia, I have to go to Melbourne for a week for a course.
...so I might be relying on photographs this year to remind me how spectacular the colours and scents are at this time of year.
“A garden should make you feel you've entered privileged space -- a place not just set apart but reverberant -- and it seems to me that, to achieve this, the gardener must put some kind of twist on the existing landscape, turn its prose into something nearer poetry.”
? Michael Pollan, Second Nature: A Gardener's Education
...there is always next year to stop and smell the roses.

It is breathtakingly beautiful. When I close my eyes I can smell the roses. Enjoy your trip and keep on spoiling us with pictures.
it was officially the start of winter here and it felt like it yes it rained all day
A "rose" by any other name is still beautiful.
Great pics Abagail.
The colours in my garden are rather spectacular at the moment. It's beautiful to come home to.
My senses are assailed every time I walk out into it at the moment.

All silent on the western oops Northern front for me but too silent the lull before the storm they say its heading our way.
your pics just did the job better than looking out the window.
I am glad you liked the photos, I took them as dusk hit and my camera doesn't like taking photos in bad lighting ( or more aptly, the operator has no idea how to use the camera)
V E G E M I T E........
I can't wait to see your beach photos.
Never mind I will be off shortly and then try it out. My coast line is 5 mins from my door lucky me.
Please be sure no poison ivy appears amongst your roses.
Save trip!
can I save one to to do an oil painting.
morning...nice pics... but who wants flowers?.. you need to add some fruits here.. and potato and lettuce type !!
Catfoot ... Thank you. I have more roses to come, but with the weather changes, I may miss a few of them over the next few weeks.
Simmo... I am very careful about what I allow between my roses.
KNenagh...Thank you, K. As for the trip, it's the trip home that hurts. Anyone who has done it from here says it's the worst bit, coming this way.
Welela ... You are welcome. I have roses most of the year, BUT this display in Spring is the best.
Bajanshay... Thank you. I hope you are enjoying your trip away.
Bogart_1960... I want flowers!!! I have a fresh food market not far from my home, so I prefer to grow flowers and purchase my fresh food needs. ( Less work for me)
The flowers are beautiful!! You got some great photo shots!!
Thank you for coming to look.
Angelpepper ... Thank you.
