COMMON SENSE

After a series of introspection and skin deep examination as to what most of us would be with, (TURNS ON AND OFF), I would like to go back to one item I am so inclined to fall into.

COMMON SENSE.

Here is the question: Would you rather be with someone who is intelligent but lacking common sense? Or the one with average intelligence and full of common sense?

Why?

Or have you met one with both? And? Or are you still searching and hope to find him/her? Given up?

Thanks for all your contribution.

NOTE: DEFINITION ON BOTH IS ON WIKIPEDIA OR ANY DICTIONARY..But can be individualized by your own. Also this attribute is just an addition to the many factors you'd wish to find with whom you are looking for..

Thank you so much for all your opinions and contributions.

Hi LJ,

Great blog as usual! hug

As for my preference, I generally tend to go for men more intelligent than I. I like to be challenged, and to constantly learn.

That said, they can't be totally lacking in common sense either. That would never work.

But because I have common sense in abundance (at times!), I usually have enough for both of us.

And if not, I have great friends who make up the shortfall and put me back on track!
@LJ...its fear, simple as...i've said in another blog...educated liberated women in the Middle East are dangerous...for arrogant ignorant men...they would show the up..in bundles.
I'm doing great, Manang...thanks! Hope you're having a great day there.

Molly, my late brother's true story and my sister in law can attest to this..said: "I will never fall for anyone not as intelligent and beautiful like my sister.." and he became so true to his conviction which of course I had no control. I did tell him that life is not like that, and therefore be keen and be aware of what is meant for you and not some measure of who I am, which I didn't agree, at all, in terms of intelligence and I don't know about physical beauty., I believe beauty doesn't equate to physical only, which I don't claim...But for him he did marry a very beautiful person, physical and in spirit. A very smart but very humble and very kind person..

Now Molly thanks for the share. For me, I attract always the most erudite ones. Not that I am seeking them per se, but I believe we do tend to swim in the fish of our kind. But he must...MUST, have a lot of common sense..

I so like your way of saying,,,You have quite for the both of you.

Good luck my dear Molly and let me know...
Sarap naman ng love life mo Manang...Hilig mo pala sa guwapo ha, he he.

Naghiwalay kami asawa ko 3 years ago, almost 10 years kami.

Yes ading. So take care and talk to you later..

Good topic...but I simply cannot decide what is better...although lacking common sense would be annoying...it depends on my mood!!...
Hello my friend, having both to me is perfect. How are you otherwise?

wave Another interesting write about life ;) I enjoyed reading your blogs popcorn

In my mind, 'Common Sense' varies according to the person's cultural background and the beliefs being imposed on. I've often been misunderstood as having NO COMMON SENSE at all in Japan. I wasn't born or brought up here in the first place. I've come to know that Common Sense in Japan is NOT Common Sense outside Japan.

I've noticed that in the US, children were brought up to have individuality, confidence in themselves, using words to express themselves etc.
In Japan, children were brought up to emphasize on teamwork, prioritize on relationship, peace & harmony with each other is of utmost importance, loyalty & long-term commitment to ONE company etc.

It may be a Common Sense in the US to fire anyone who is incompetent and unable to produce results.
In Japan, this viewpoint is very different due to the culture of lifetime employment policy. (note: globalization may be changing this traditional mindset in the future... )

So... what is Common Sense...exactly?

For me, it would be 'Wisdom' and not 'Common Sense' that Turns Me ON! Lol laugh yay I feel that I can move forward with a Wise Man as I feel that I can embrace his other flaws

I have never thought of that difference my dear Angeline.

I know somehow our cultural diversity and individual mores and values would definitely define who we are and also our sense of what is common and or wisdom and or principles, but I have never thought of this extreme.

A very great eye opener you have contributed my dear friend..

Thanks so much for taking the time to digest all my blogs and contribute your valued opinion..

For my learning is so filled and sated with all the different responses based on our individual cultures and beliefs.

Thanks Angeline.

Your friend,
Phyllis
