Recession is here

I kind of feel like 2007 all over again.

Covid I'm sure has a lot to do with it.

It looks like the skyrocketing prices of necessities are strong signs of a bad economy coming down and it's unstoppable. Is it?

Do you feel affected by this economic downturn?

Inflation how do we handle it?

Being ready is a good thing. I hope not to be affected as badly as it did me 15 years ago. I felt like I crawled out of a tunnel just to see the light again after that.

Are you ready? I hope I'm hallucinating.

It's a good sign. It looks like no one is affected.
Boy the likes of Soros and Pelosi will definitely not be bothered. dunno

I lost two houses and all my investments during the meltdown of 07.

I'm sure many had been affected by that recession.
The big difference to 2007 is that China is making its and move and we've already had the stimulus. In 2007 a lot of money was printed without triggering inflation because it was based on sweated labour in the totalitarian east. But China is making its move and we now face the unenviable task of equipping the west in place of sweating the east. Nothing really changed after 2007 apart from whipping a dead horse in a slow decline of the old order.
Hello SR,

I think the gas prices, if they come down, will have a major effect on inflation. Maybe not so much bringing down the prices on things (even though everything is tied together with energy/fuel cost), but it will free up money in people's pockets allowing them to afford the higher cost of goods....somewhat anyway.

Just my 2 cents

BTW, it is much more complex of a problem than gas prices...but the gas prices is what I hear most people complaining about.
And we need to teach the left the difference between wealth inequality and income inequality. The new rich are actually quite talented in contrast to the old rich casserole of nonsense. Elon Musk is far better than Bill Gates and his harder life, this harsher season, is the reason for that. It's not high earners who are the enemy but those whose advantages meant they could get very far whilst actually being quite bad. It is that luck, advantage and power accumulate in people who are not actually any good.
its because it's what most people do Johnny. Majority of us drive cars to get anywhere. Jobs, trips and when we are constrained on doing what we've been used to because of lack of affordability, tgen we feel very concerned.

I hope it gets better even though I am sure it's unlikely to happen.

This is a very serious economic collapse worse than the recent one.
But...this "economic collapse", wasn't it on top of the agenda?
All the other events being just smoke screens?

They had to find a way to shut down all the small businesses...and so they did with the plandemic lockdowns.

Then came the war in Ukraine and, suddenly, petrol prices have gone up, shortages of food because of all the sanctions on Russia...and...the list goes on...and on...

And now...more viruses with more restrictions coming down the line soon, very soon doh
When it's all said and done, you have the ability to control what happens in your little space you occupy. Debt, inflation, whatever, you are the one best equipped to handle the highs and lows of life. You have to adopt a rather cold mindset, that there is no one out there you can truly rely on for help, you're on your own, and make decisions accordingly. There will be losses and gains throughout your life and finger pointing for blame is pointless. It's how you deal with things as they affect your unique situation. Getting through life and maintaining a positive attitude goes a long way to handling the various stresses that you will face. Sounds so simple, doesn't it ?
Yes, as said above, life is simple really.

Lindsy, I'm referring to my last poem about life on a keyboard wink
at the end of the day, yes, it's all about how we adapt and make the most of what's out the. I survived the last one. S most excruciating experience though. Cost my divorce, two houses and started all over again. Never quite recovered no matter how I tried but lived to be still here. wave
I will definitely go and read it my dear. Lessons learned and apply it best when we need it.
Well it's hitting the common man pretty hard.
Yep, what a joke these demonrats are.
With the future up ahead looking gloomy maybe being practical will help.
