To believe or not

This topic is almost as controversial as life itself and I have always maintained my own belief without necessarily be sensationalized but given all the celebrated topics on the blog lately, I am so tempted to yet again, explore a very sensitive and almost excruciatingly injurious and laborious to the mind discussion: The belief or no belief of GOD.

The question is why do you believe? Reasons? And if not, why?

Below is my personal reasons and I have maintained these reasons after so many books I have read and after so many discussions I have engaged with.

I believe because, if the collective geniuses of the world including but not limited to Dr. Neil Tyson de Grazzie, a Quantum Physicist and Dr. Richard Dawkins, both well known professors at well known Universities, can't explain to me in layman's word the origin of this universe and until today CAN'T TELL ME WHERE THE END OF THIS Vast and expanse of space, then I have to give my belief to whom I call: God, and I am just and insignificant being. Having said that, I also believe that yes, there are other planets out there similar with us otherwise, all this space would be such a waste. If we truly are just but a tiny speck on this planet among millions more of galaxies in the Milky Way. (Coincidentally, NASA reports to keep discovering so many planets that are similar to ours but can't be sure about sustainability of life yet.)

Thank you so much for your participation and opinions.

I respect all other's belief (except those that are bent to harm and kill others) and no way am I imposing mine to anyone as I expect them not to impose their beliefs on mine.

Thank you all for your contribution and or reading.

And for the fellow members of the Christian world, may we all have a Happy and Joyful Easter.bouquet

A God in belief is such a beautiful thing.
Allowing any form of love into ones life
creates a path of redemption

Many screens of religion pass our lives
we cannot look upon one's that do not uphold goodness

The carefulness of deep understanding shall run within the vein
of spiritual knowing

we may not see a sign, but never be discouraged
being empty
will allow
one small answer

You are not alone
"Where in the middle east did Jesus manage to find four blokes called Matthew, Mark, Luke & John" -zmountain

Did you just read this and laugh, or try to find the answer? confused

John is the Anglicized form of the Hebrew Yochanan meaning God is Gracious.

Matthew is a variant spelling of Mattathias, which is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Matityahu meaning Gift of God.

Mark's Hebrew equivalent is Mordechai and one of Luke's in Hebrew is Barak.
I agree that the planet and the universe and how it appeared does have me in awe..I mean I know the basics but it is amazing how it all happened.

I was in Thailand las week and went diving. Te colors of the fish and the shapes of the reef simply made me gasp with amazement.

Some say that god created all creatures, Im not a believer in god..but even so mother nature has done one amazing job, either of the planet and its contents, or that mother nature has given the human being the eye.to see the wonderful colours..and the brain to appreciate the natural beauty it has given us.

So, the brain to most cannot comprehend the earth and how it became, you have to dog deep..who created god..and why does he not show himself...as there are 100's of regions that sprung and morphed from others.

You see if there was a god don't you think he would have sent a prophet to every corner of the earth to ensure we all knew what religion to follow?
Hi Lj,wave I am a Christian. But for me the most important part in the bible is " God created man in his own image. And breathed life in to him"

My belief is our quest is to find the godly spirit within us. Rather than trying to find Higgs Boson to prove God theory is wrong or the big bang is right. Even if God is just a concept for some, it is a good concept to try and become like.

World would be a better place if we all strive to find the God essence within us. Because what happens after death no one knows. But how we live and try to make this world a better place is only thing that counts and remains left to be seen.

Happy Easter to you!hug bouquet

I am a non believer for the same reaons that you are a believer. If you look at the wonders of the earth and the infinite universe we are part of then you realize there can't be one single entity responsible for that.....not to mention maintaining it. If such an entity exists it will anyway be too big and powerful to even hear your cries for help. Do you hear the ants begging you for mercy before you step on them?
My apologies for falsely accusing you miss Jones and thanks to Mr Jim for being man enough to put up his hand...

Sophie my most poetic friend, what a rendition. Yes, we are not alone. Have you watched synchronicity?

Share me what you think.

I can't top this off. In our deepest, all boiled into one, indeed we are not alone.teddybear bouquet cheers hug
Calm thanks for the information. I couldn't find an answer to that which will fit for their disdain. I know how all the disciples joined our Lord but in a way when we become technical, it is not about how I will provide the answer to some questions, it is how they would never believe no matter what I will put out there without feeling ridiculously mocked.

Not that I suspect Z to be that way, just how I feel.

My motto: For those who believe explanation is not needed.

And those who don't, explanation is impossible..bouquet
Well you can thank yourself then. For me, I thank my God for having made me learn that what I do is not to hurt others.

Read Desiderata, will you? You'd be amazed.
My dear beautiful Usha. I didn't know you have so much depth as to the spiritual quest you have there. I am at awe, now to me, just with your ability to make that summation of searching God within ourselves makes me at awe as to how beautiful we all are if and when we put that obligation within ourselves. To continually search God within us. That means that our belief being God like has all the capability to do Good to us and to our fellowman. My mother was incapable of conceiving that there are bad people. What my mom failed to see is that there are truly bad people out there. The reason she most felt that way is because of how she thought that we are all the same, believers of the same God. And therefore if we put God within ourselves then we are incapable of doing something bad for ourselves and for others.

Eventually of course, my saw how our world is ripped and torn by evil acts and prayed a lot for them.

Love you my dear Usha and thanks so much.
Thanks Ek, but I can't blame me nor God for that. I don't hear them because I accept the order of things for nature. We are all subject to annihilation in one form or another. But for man, we should maintain a decorum of not being treated like animals of lower form. That is why we have laws that what we can do to those lower animals, we can't do to human being. And you are not a believer is your choice. If you don't believe and makes it alright for you to not listen to the cry of the ant when you step or mutilate them, that is your reason. I would never put that into perspective as the reason why I shouldn't believe.

There are laws that are known to us, how, we learn and adapt and change. for survival, we have to fit within the environment that we thrive on. Like I said, all lower forms of animals can be subject for our survival, meaning we eat them. Unfortunately I can't control that, but mutually for man, we do have laws that allow us to put ourselves on top of the feeding order. Now you don't believe because of lack of that responsibility to justify why we do that just makes me cower to my stomach.

But it is your reason. I respect.
Mic thanks for stopping by.

Thanks.
You did not understand what I was saying but it does not matter.
I am sorry Ek, I misunderstood you. But it is clear on my mind that you don't believe for the same reason that I believe, that puts my confusion on one, either what I believe in is preposterous to you and causes you not to believe. But let us see, I feel the presence of God, and that is the reason you don't believe?
