Spreading Manure

Yes, I definitely live in the heart of agricultural land. What gives it away? Well, the scent of manure spreading for one (similar to CS these days & the political blogs). Secondly, the avid interest in anything dairy cow.

I'd mentioned in a blog last week how the photo of a cow was far better received than the photo of the parasail with the snow covered mountain peak in the background. One lady that lives in the area had asked me about a photo of a dairy cow. This morning while I was out, I took several photos of the cows, as they hung their heads over the fence, looking at me in reproach as I didn't have any food with me.

The woman has ordered 2 8x10 photos as she couldn't decide between two specific photos. While I was discussing price with her, another woman asked me for a photo of a crow. Funnily enough, I had taken one this morning, but the sun hadn't cleared the mountain yet, so the crow wasn't as defined as I'd hoped it would be. It wasn't as close as I'd like it to be either.

So, I'm pretty pumped at making the sales, even though I figured it would be almost anything other than cows and crows. lol.

Hi Imp! wave I made my way over here finally.

I love the pictures you post on Facebook so I’m sure the crow picture will turn out nice. cheering
I used to have to drive through farmland to get to work in Scotland, and when trailers of manure were delivered it was a case of closing the windows, hurriedly switching off the air-intake, and hoping not too much of the car paint crinkled and peeled as I sped by laugh

Nice going on the pics. handshake
Cow, then Crow. Perhaps the buyers are buying them one additional letter at a time. dunno
Make sure you have some photos of a crown, just in case. laugh

Much continued success. peace
Go for a crowd next time laugh

When my friend moved into her new house, I asked her what present she would like. Amazingly she asked me for a photo of a cow wow
I haven't taken it yet, I never think to take my camera out with me. But one of these fine years, I will take a photo of a cow for her laugh
blue!!! hug - so good to see you over here! I really missed you on the other site, but understand why you didn't bother. wave
Biff - lol - I totally get what you're saying. A number of years ago I was driving by a farm while they were in the process of spreading the manure. I quickly rolled up the windows of the car and turned off the air intake, but I'd already gotten a strong whack of it. I ended up with the worst cold and bronchitis I'd had in years the very next day. I'm surprised the paint didn't peel off my car. rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks re: the pics. grin
Jim - I laughed when the lady asked me for a crow pic as I thought the same thing. rolling on the floor laughing

Thank you! banana
Molly - yeah, a crowd would be great - as long as they're buying! lol

It's funny what people like to hang on their walls. I'd have never thought a photo of a cow would generate so much interest. lol. I don't usually go anywhere without my camera nowadays. And yes, one day you will be out and that perfect shot will present itself to you. thumbs up
Fay - Thank you for the great suggestions! It's funny, I never thought of seagulls as being a subject I'd want to photograph as they were so prevalent when I lived near the ocean. Not living near the ocean now, when I took Mom to the dentist by the beach, I waited for her at the beach and took some great photos of seagulls. In one, the seagull was backlit as it was landing with it's wings forward. I was thrilled with how it turned out.

I do find that people enjoy motivational sayings on different things. I'll have to start doing that on some of my photos. grin
You could also offer to imprint a customer's motivational saying if they wanted. Extra money.

Daddy always said I had a cash register tongue and dollar bill signs for eyes.
Great idea, Fay! Your daddy may have been right - and you're hired!! lol
