Fall..tis the season to panic!

It was a summer of heat or rain or both. So time frittered away and now it is October. That to do list...uh..oops?doh help Now it is work the temps. Too cold to paint..cut brush. Clean the chimney, got that done. ]
Had a quote to cut down a couple oaks. Man, do I hate oak trees! Each tree has gazillions and gazillions of leaves. Which fall one by one by one, hanging on for dear life til Christmas! ARGH! Rake other leaves and they are done. Or rot by spring. Oak leaves...nope.frustrated Rake and sweep and tomorrow, do it again. Finally snow covers it all. And then spring thaw comes and the flower beds and everything are solid oak leaves.crying They NEVER rot!
Guy gave me a quote on just ONE oak. $2,500!wow Sorry! At that I can BUY a pull behind bucket lift! Or rent one is I could find someone with saw who knows how to use it.sigh Guess I rake.
I searched on line forever again for tarps. All are poly and none will last more than 3 years before my birds make nests of blue. The good is vinyl. Check prices..grrr. What to do...back to used billboard vinyl. I did finally drag a section I had to cover one carport I built. I hate the weight of them. And not that cheap. But, this one is ancient and still OK. Then ran into a company that not only sells used, but new by the foot. confused dunno I measured the dog trot, figured and thunk about it. Called..you do check over phone, yep. OK, I ordered a 16X100 foot run of new. 86 pounds. It got delivered..poor UPS guy!
My boarder and I got it up last week. What fun..me on top..MOVE cat AGAIN...him below. Got it up and over, pulled and yanked and then I threw string over to tie it down. It just touches ground. But, 20 foot plastic sheeting is under it from before so should be ok. It was $240 and shipping. Quite a bit lighter than the old billboad which is nice.
Hired a guy with chainsaw and we/he cut brush trees from behind one garage. I used to mow when living in that house. Moved up here and rented the farmhouse. Each tenant like the jungle creep bit by bit. Now I will spray in spring any tree that thinks it will grow. More to do, next weekend.
Start to close the loggia ends with doors for winter. Sorry cats, back to other side of house to woodstove and shed to get fed. Be nice to come in living room door without screaming NO. OUT. NO!
Now it is pick what and which to do, see how temps are. Next two weeks above norm and no rain. Work! FASTER!mumbling

My anniversary blog...

I joined Connecting Singles in July of 2018. While some people have complained that I write 3 to 4 blogs a day. I'm currently on 1,639 and lost a few when the moderators cleaned their system.

Doing some simple math of 5 years at 360 days per year or 1,800 days not counting one or two leap years total in that time period. That's less than a blog a day and not 3 to 4 as others have claimed. Amazing.

The main blog page states:
"A Blog is a journal you may enter about your life, thoughts, interesting experiences, or lessons you've learned. Post an opinion, impart words of wisdom, or talk about something interesting in your day. Update your blog on a regular basis, or just whenever you have something to say. Creating a blog is a good way to share something of yourself with others..."

Limits aren't mentioned and I'm okay with that... you should be too.

How is it even feasible?

Just bought an adaptor cable to plug a USB device such as a external harddrive or USB stick into my Samsung phone for 11 cents US$ with free international shipping from China.

How is this even possible?

If I buy and get something shipped in NZ the minimum postal cost is $9

WTF

And its delivered by the exact same person

Two holidays eclipsed by Santa...

I was in the Home Depot this past weekend and that area with holiday displays had Christmas trees and four foot high plastic Santa statues. This year, sales of Christmas ornaments eclipsed Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Walgreens Pharmacy hasn't lost the spirit as they have an entire aisle of ghosts, goblins and skeletons...

Bored As All Get Out

I turned 40 last month and everyone is saying oh your 40s will be exciting. Nope. I feel like each year that passes is even more boring than the previous year. And I don’t mean boring like I have nothing to do. I mean psychologically boring. I always have plenty to do. I want to know when life started to feel boring to you guys and what did you do to remedy it? I feel like I’ve experienced everything except marriage and children and no good on that front as I seemingly grow distant from men each year that passes as well. I’m becoming LESS of what they want. laugh

Life Update

I have been self employed for 10 months now and it’s caused my brain to think in new ways. It has greatly improved my skepticism too. I posted this on Facebook and I wanted to share it here as well. It is something I need to do because I don’t want to look back on life never taking the initiative.

I put this in quotations because I am quoting myself from Facebook:

“Okay so here’s the game plan with my professional life. First I will renew my MA state certification, then update my resume including the certification renewal. Then I will start applying for lab technician jobs. I’m going to tell employers that medical assisting is a back up job but I really want to do laboratory work. I think that’s the best approach. It’s good to have everything updated on your resume first. So Tuesday I will be heading to Fresno Library to work on renewing my certification. It expired in May. I have a one year grace period to renew it but I need to get on the renewal list soon. The really cool thing about all this is that I don’t have to stress about it. If it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t work out and I still have medical assisting and self employment but I’ve decided to finally go after and fight for what I really want again. I have nothing to lose really. The worst they can say is no but I have to get onto the career path in the laboratory sector if I want anything to happen with it. You have to think everything through like this when you’re making a life change and that’s what’s always daunting for me but I don’t want to not pursue this, you know? I want to live life to the fullest. I still have my clinical lab science training license. Perhaps God will open up a door for me once I get in on the lower end of the totem pole. I realize I have to think positively now and not make up a million excuses. They want a 4 year degree in hardcore biology and chemistry classes to obtain that license and I did all that. I’m feeling like I want something now to show for all that work I did. Some of those classes I felt were at University of California level even Ivy League. I mean you can go as deep into studying science as you want. It’s really truly amazing.”

I’m very happy that self employment has got me out of my stagnated thinking. It was terrible. I was majorly stuck and it was preventing me from going forward.

Stepping outside of one's Comfort Zone...Top 10 Survey findings (very interesting read)

Complimenting a stranger in the street is the top thing adults would most like to do in public, but don’t have the guts, according to a poll from the UK. The poll of 2,000 adults found 40 percent ‘consciously limit’ themselves in life because they fear being criticized when doing things more freely. The survey, carried out by OnePoll, revealed that going to the cinema alone, singing aloud, and walking barefoot are other unconventional activities we are too embarrassed to indulge in.

Well over half of respondents feel more alive when they push themselves out of their comfort zone, but they are often too scared to take the leap. One in three (34 percent) worry what other people would think if they were to be so adventurous—and 43 percent hold so much of themselves back that they believe others would be shocked to learn their true personality.

Pavan Chandra from Peperami, which commissioned the poll as part of a new campaign to encourage spontaneity, said, “We as a nation are traditionally known as being a bit stiff and reserved. “However, if everyone went outside of their comfort zone once in a while, they’ll start seeing the fun and exciting side of life.”

TOP 10 THINGS ADULTS WISH THEY COULD DO FREELY IN PUBLIC:
1. Compliment a stranger
2. Go to the cinema alone
3. Walk down the street singing loudly
4. Tell someone they love them
5. Listen to something without headphones
6. Fart or burp openly
7. Walk barefoot
8. Do yoga stretches in the park
9. Adjust your underwear
10. Dance in the street
