I got up a bit late yesterday, as there was a birthday party the other night that made me slept late. Though I felt like want to be on bed for a bit more, but tried to got up, as my plants waited for me to be watered. I immediately opened the water faucet connected to a sprinkler, somewhat a water irrigation, to water all my plants. With much surprised I heard kittens crying. Ohhh they were hit by water and cats just afraid of water. I tried to take a look. And a cat is giving birth to 5 kittens,I thought. But there came another one..so 6 kittens. But since they were wet, I put a cloth to kept them warm. At mid day I checked and saw one died..so I threw in a trash. Before I got dark I checked again and gave food which I previously cooked for that mother cat. She keeps on going around me, instead of eating the food I gave. She already hid her kittens transferred to another place, but they kept crying so I wanted to check as they might be wet . Huhhhh I made a step, and the cat bit me up....I wonder why???
Good thing she did not bite me that hard, but I got an anti tabbies shot anyway .
In my thoughts, why she did it, when I was trying to take care of them. I just realized, she was searching for her one kitten I threw. Touched me a lot, how this cat cared so much when she has 5 kittens with her. And humans, there's been news, a fetus in a trash , a baby wrapped with plastic bags ..Ghosh, and the kind news.
Cats have more heart and conscience than humans??? Cats has no shame??? Humans was designed by God as highest form animals, with instinct ...why shame overpowers the thought that a fetus,a baby is innocent, they might have a better contributions in the world if given a chance to live..
Am seeing my wound, a cat is ready to kill, to protect her kittens. Yes I could die because of rabbies....lol..

How is it that we naturally know when a dog is using play behaviors? Probably coevolved with us, Methinks. The front paws low on the ground, arse up in the air, Eyes bright, ears partially back, tail a waggin' a mile a minute, and that broad open mouth doggy smile. Who doesn't naturally sense all this is saying, "let's romp?" OK, can't resist making this at least a little political. Bravo loves TV, especially animal shows. But he only watches Republican adverts. He's glued to the boob tube whenever our brilliant POTUS gives a thoughtful speech.

On Saturday evening, a member of a local hiking group fb page posted a desperate plea for help in getting two dogs off a cliff ledge. According to the post, the dogs had been up there for four days crying and barking.

Apparently, a friend of the poster lived right under where the dogs were located and could hear them barking and crying all night, but couldn't get at them to bring them down. The poster had contacted the RCMP and the local Search and Rescue (SAR), and both had told them it wasn't a human and there wasn't anything they could do.

The poster was at his wit's end, begging for someone with climbing experience to help get these two dogs off the ledge and not leave them to starve to death. As many in the hiking group had dogs, the response was immediate and encouraging, with offers of a canine stretcher and various other paraphernalia possibly required.

Receiving enough help, they organized a group to attempt to get the dogs at 6:30am yesterday morning.

A local SAR volunteer apparently offered to help, and probably advised the team that unqualified and inexperienced climbers were going to try and rescue the dogs. Rather than risk the lives of humans trying to rescue the dogs, the SAR team stepped up and in and asked people to stay away from the area in the morning, as they'd be going in themselves to get the dogs.

With bated breath, everyone that was aware of the dogs waited for word on the rescue. Finally, about mid-morning, photos were posted of the SAR rescuers with the puppies in their arms. The dogs were only about 17 weeks old and St. Bernard mix, so still very little. How they got to the ledge and who they belong to is still a mystery, but there are all kinds of offers of adoption.

I can't, for the life of me, understand how two puppies could be left on a ledge and the owner not frantic to get them down. At this point, no one is owning up to ownership, or how those two puppies ended up being there.

My big question is, did the owner and puppies fall and are they missing the owner somewhere down the cliff? Hopefully, no humans are out there, injured, but I'd think SAR would check. So many questions with no answers, but the great news is that the puppies were rescued and are safe.

The other day I was reading how someone was bringing a stray home from the country they were visiting. What? We don't have enough unwanted pets here in shelters that you couldn't find one here?

I really have an issue with this, as we have so many pets that need homes in our own country.

I don't know about that. But they do seem to be very friendly to humans
and they seem to display smiles.

....years ago, for a wealthy lady friend, while she traveled, I cared for her two Arabians. So, got to ride them instead of her, with the former being much better. Mostly rode bareback, even though it lead to sweaty jeans, (North Carolina) and always felt much more one with the animals this way. Today, on a TV animal science show, there was this lady showing her research on how expressive these wonderful creatures are. Sure, as with our Bravo, there are many body language communications. But apparently, to those in the know, tons of communicative facial expressions also exist. Who knew? Not me. The only real readable horse talk I recall was the way they always seemed to speed up on their own (or try to do), at the end of a ride, on the last leg to their stalls. Translation into Human-OATS!
