A federal judge on Thursday granted a request to unseal part of a Watergate report known as the Road Map which gives details about President Richard Nixon’s involvement in covering up the Watergate break-in and was used to inform articles of impeachment against him.
The Road Map, which was sent to the House Judiciary Committee in 1974, could be used as precedent for how Special Counsel Robert Mueller will end his investigation into whether Trump’s presidential campaign colluded with Russia.
Politico first reported the Road Map’s release on Thursday.
Chief U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell released part of the Road Map at the request of George Shepard, who served in Nixon’s defense team during Watergate.
In the order obtained by Politico, Howell said the National Archives told her the report consists of a “two-page summary statement, followed by 53 individually numbered statements” and 97 documents supporting those statements.
The National Archive also said 81 of the documents had already been made public, whether in a House Judiciary Committee report or “elsewhere in the public domain.”
In addition to the Road Map’s partial release, Howell ordered the Justice Department to contact the individuals named in the remaining 16 documents to see whether they object to the report’s release.
In September, three legal scholars had also filed a petition to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia asking for the Road Map to be unsealed.
The September request was filed by Brookings Institution senior fellow Benjamin Wittes; Jack Goldsmith, former senior official for the Justice Department under President George W. Bush who is now a law professor at Harvard; and Stephen Bates, a law professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the former federal prosecutor working for Kenn Starr, whose investigation resulted in the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.
“We did so because the document is of significant historical interest and significant contemporary interest,” Wittes, Goldsmith and Bates explained in the legal blog Lawfare, where Wittes is editor-in-chief.
“The Road Map is one of the few significant pieces of Watergate history that remains unavailable to the public,” they continued. “The document is also keenly relevant to current discussions of how Mueller should proceed.”

High to Canadians
Today pot became legal in Canada.
Canada is only the second nation to legalize marijuana.
It is no longer illegal to carry up to 30 grams of pot in Canada.
Where it can be legally bought depends upon which providence you are in.
However, mostly it can only be smoked at home.
In some providences it can be smoked wherever tobacco can be smoked.
But, that's next to nowhere in public.
It is illegal to transport marijuana into Canada and out of Canada.
However, you are likely to fly higher leaving Canada,
It is likely that other countries will follow Canada's lead in legalization of marijuana.
It leads to more tax revenue for the government, less money for illegals,
more controlled over the substance, and lower prices for consumers.
Whether it leads to more health risks and accidents is debatable.

Well, she's been using personal email for government associated communications
and amazingly, after all the rhetoric her father created, she claims, that she didn't know it is against policy. Yeah, right.
It turns out, that her husband, Jared Kushner, has been doing the same thing.

Trump FINALLY gives some answers to Mueller
In a desperate attempt to be done with the Mueller inquiry before the Democrats take control of the House,
Dirty Don FINALLY submitted answers (or his lawyers did) to some of Mueller's questions in writing.
Despite Trump's hopes, it's not going to suffice. It does, however, legally commit Trump to a story, that he will have to defend, no matter what the evidence later shows.
These questions only have to do with the Russian interference with the election,
not the other aspects of the investigations.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday finally submitted a set of written responses to Robert Mueller, signaling that he was done for good with the special counsel's questions.
But Mueller is far from done with him.
The special counsel still wants to question the president over his actions while in the White House — Tuesday's answers only covered Russian hacking during the 2016 election. It's a fight that could result in a historic subpoena and eventual Supreme Court ruling, pulling a defiant Trump into a legal squabble that could set groundbreaking precedent for presidential investigations for years to come. Depending on how the battle plays out, House Democrats may even try and pounce and launch impeachment proceedings.
Things could get explosive fast. Next comes the perilous round of negotiations between Trump’s lawyers and Mueller’s prosecutors covering topics like Trump's intentions when firing FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. That line of questioning — which Trump says he shouldn't have to answer — is tied to Mueller's ongoing obstruction of justice investigation.
“These are very deep waters and complicated questions,” said John Q. Barrett, a St. John’s University law professor and former associate who worked under independent counsel Lawrence Walsh during the Reagan-era investigation into secret U.S. arms sales to Iran.
If Mueller can't get the answers he wants, he will have to decide whether he’s ready to test his power to issue a subpoena for the president’s testimony. Mueller’s prosecutors have reportedly made the threat before, but now the step comes with the added wrinkle that it could spark an internal Justice Department riff with his new supervisor, acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, who previously has been critical of the special counsel’s investigation.
Should the special counsel win DOJ approval and pull the subpoena trigger, he’d still have to face off against a president who has relished taunting Mueller and enter into a legal battle that could quickly elevate to the Supreme Court, where a newly-enmeshed conservative majority is widely seen as friendlier to Trump’s arguments.
Round two of Mueller versus Trump could also fizzle, though.
Legal experts say that the special counsel may have enough information from documents, presidential tweets and witnesses to wrap up the obstruction of justice portion of his investigation and file a report to his DOJ supervisors — all without forcing a court showdown just to nail down an interview with the president.
“My hunch, at least at this time, [is that] the special counsel doesn't need the president's testimony and that he has provided the president with the opportunity to testify simply so that the president does not later complain about the special counsel's further prosecutorial actions or the conclusions of his report when it is made public in one fashion or another,” said Jack Quinn, the former White House counsel under President Bill Clinton..............

There are at least 6 ongoing investigations involving Donald Trump
and likely several more, that have not yet been made public.
He is already implicated in several felonies with corroborating witnesses.
It is likely only going to get worse for Trump, a lot worse.
While he still has some bargaining power, he should negotiate a plea bargain in
exchange for him resigning the presidency.
It would be best for Trump and best for the country.
However, we will witness, that Trump is simply too dumb to understand this and to do this.
Plus, he doesn't really care about the country.
Thus, the longer he delays, the worse it will likely get for him.

Again and again and again, over the course of Donald Trump’s 18-month campaign for the presidency, Russian citizens made contact with his closest family members and friends, as well as figures on the periphery of his orbit.
Some offered to help his campaign and his real estate business. Some offered dirt on his Democratic opponent. Repeatedly, Russian nationals suggested Trump should hold a peacemaking sit-down with Vladimir Putin — and offered to broker such a summit.
In all, Russians interacted with at least 14 Trump associates during the campaign and presidential transition, public records and interviews show.
“It is extremely unusual,” said Michael McFaul, who served as ambassador to Russia under President Barack Obama. “Both the number of contacts and the nature of the contacts are extraordinary.”
As Robert S. Mueller III slowly unveils the evidence that he has gathered since his appointment as special counsel in May 2017, he has not yet shown that any of the dozens of interactions between people in Trump’s orbit and Russians resulted in any specific coordination between his presidential campaign and Russia.
But the mounting number of communications that have been revealed occurred against the backdrop of “sustained efforts by the Russian government to interfere with the U.S. presidential election,” as Mueller’s prosecutors wrote in a court filing last week.
The special counsel’s filings have also revealed moments when Russia appeared to be taking cues from Trump. In July 2016, the then-candidate said at a news conference, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” referring to messages Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton had deleted from a private account. That day, the Russians made their first effort to break into servers used by Clinton’s personal office, according to court documents.
As Americans began to grip the reality that a hostile foreign power took active steps to shape the outcome of the race, Trump and his advisers asserted they had no contact with Russia.
Two days after Trump was elected president, a top Kremlin official caused a stir by asserting that Trump’s associates were in contact with the Russian government before the election.
“I don’t say that all of them, but a whole array of them supported contacts with Russian representatives,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told the Interfax news agency on Nov. 10, 2016.
The claim was met with a hail of denials. Hope Hicks, then Trump’s top spokeswoman, responded, “It never happened. There was no communication between the campaign and any foreign entity during the campaign.”
After Trump took office, in February 2017, he reiterated the denial. “No. Nobody that I know of,” the president told reporters when asked whether anyone who advised his campaign had contact with Russia. “I have nothing to do with Russia. To the best of my knowledge, no person that I deal with does.”
