NBC/WSJ Poll: Trump Highest Approval Yet, Republicans Best Score On Economy Ever

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll provides Democrats a few welcome numbers, but it's Republicans who end up getting what could end up being the most important takeaways: the voter enthusiasm gap has largely collapsed, President Trump has reached record-high approval among registered voters, and Republicans are trusted by a wider gap than ever over Democrats to handle the all-important issue of the economy.

Democrats once held a sizable enthusiasm over Republicans of 10+ points, but the NBC/WSJ poll found that the important indicator of voter turnout has collapsed to just 4 points: 72% of Democrats are enthused, while 68% of Republicans are eager to vote. "mong all registered voters, 65 percent have high interest — the largest for a midterm electorate dating back to 2006 in the NBC/WSJ poll," NBC reports.

In generic congressional preference — often a poor indicator of electoral results — Democrats hold a 9-point lead among likely voters (7 points among registered voters, down 5 points since September). But as NBC notes, "in the most competitive House battlegrounds — many of which take place on traditionally Republican turf — congressional preference is tied."

Meanwhile, Trump's approval is surging, tracking better in fact than President Obama's at the same point in his presidency. His approval has jumped 3 points in a month to 47% among registered voters, with 49% disapproving. A month ago, 52% disapproved of his handling of the job. That 47% is Trump's "highest rating as president in the NBC/WSJ poll."

Trump performs slightly less well among likely voters, with 45% approval, 52% disapproval.

Another record-breaking number for the poll involves voters' views of the economy. In what NBC notes is "their biggest lead on this question in the poll's history," Republicans now hold a 15-point advantage on the question of which party better handles the economy, which is consistently the most important issue to voters.

A total of 43% of registered voters told pollsters that Republicans handled the economy better, while just 28% said Democrats. The 15-point gap is a point up from the gap pollsters found in August.

NBC provides a breakdown on some of the other issues, including trade (R+17), "handling the Supreme Court nomination process" (R+3), and "changing how Washington works" (R+1). Democrats win on women's interests (D+29), health care (D+18), "looking out for the middle class" (D+8), and immigration (D+4).

Of all the listed issues, more (38%) said the economy than any other issue. The next biggest issue was health care (31%), followed by "changing how things work" (23%), and the middle class (22%) and immigration (22%).

While the chances of Republicans to maintain control of the House appears to have improved dramatically (Real Clear Politics gives Democrats "safely" 205 seats, Republicans 200 seats and lists 30 seats as "toss-ups"), the odds are still highly in the Democrats' favor to take over that chamber of Congress. The Senate, however, is leaning heavily towards Republicans. RCP gives the GOP 50 "safe" seats and Democrats only 44, meaning Democrats must flip one of the Republicans' "safe" seats and win all six of the remaining toss-ups to gain the 51-seat majority.

Pay attention, or bad things are gonna happen!

Here in Denmark, the government has decided, that unemployed people have to have something to do, so they are being sent into something called Service++. Basicly, they have to pick up litter from the streets.

I am currently doing that job, and I am paired with two other people. One of them is a real idiot.

It has been cold and damp here in Denmark, so the lawns are extremely soft and wet. Introduce a 2 ton car to that, and

Embedded image from another site

Anyway, I told this to one of the guys who I am paired up with, and he said "It's not gonna be bad. Trust me."

Fast forward to when the idiot parked on a lawn. 2 tonnes of car versus a soft ground equals disaster. We were stuck.

Luckily, there was one guy who came to help, and with his guidance, we were able to get the van free and be on our way.

The morale of the story is: Listen to what people say to you!

{Should Writers be Free In Their Thoughts?}

A big question in to-day's time is the freedom of expression. Its a fact that God has made each person different from the other and it is here the beauty of diversity is embedded. This is the great dilemma on the thought of a person.

Nature created living entities in various forms, designs, colors, texture, moulds to suit certain conditions for their survival. This is the greatest marvel of the Cosmos. Any restriction, curb, law banning these creations from their style of living would only result in a backfire_________ a bullet going in the reverse direction killing the user on the spot! The only care one has to take is to keep a tab on the progress of a running train not getting derailed.

Humanity has eveloved in the same pattern, but has not yet reached the depth of his psychic analysis of wisdom to decifer right from wrong. On the other hand, he has used his intellect in being destructive. Why has he done this? Noone knows the answer............ maybe to kill boredom, or maybe negativity attracts him to indulge in this game to be novel and be different. So I divide the man into two groups.......... one group doing only good and another group doing only bad. I also put all the writers into two groups with 90% non-creative and 10% creative stuff writing. These 10% are writing all that nature has to offer. These are an intelligent group of species, who write what they truly feel in their minds and creativity flows from this group. That is the reason why their books go on to become best sellers. Whether the publicity is needed for these books or not, the content will always remain life long treasure for all these readers, who are interested in truth, fine writings and great readings of the highest order. But these writers have also a price to pay___ the price of being original in their thinking, price of penning exactly what they feel in their minds and the price of creativity.

Some militant groups come out with their criticisms on their writings, citing reasons of writing controvercial contents in order to promote their books. Who will judge these allegations? Not trhis militant group but the vast readers community can decide whether the writer has written any context that incites passion, emotion, envy, hatred etc. Unfortunately, the militant group looks at the world events objectively through their blurred glasses and failing to notice the other side of the world. Some writers are ready to be buried even before the burial ground is dug up and a place for the last rites to be decided. Let us all learn from Mother Nature. In Mother Nature there is no policeman to oversee the million happenings; but still everything seems to be right and in consonance with law. How to emulate this system in the huiman race? Only solution is in sight___the sacrifice of democracy and the rule of one person of wisdom. In a democracy everyone wants to a {King} and that is why there is chaos everywhere. In Nature there is an invisible cop for control; everyone follows this cop and that is why we admire Nature. In the case of ruling Delhi, the AAP policy of giving powers to a Mohalla Committee where only one person or two will be able to decide a dispute is an excellent idea for peace to prevail.
But putting a break on the creative thinking of a writer will not find a solution. You may burn the books, but you can never {kill} the thought of a writer. Of course, the other 10% non-creative writers will write all rubbish to sell their books, because the readers will love to read this uncensored stuff to rouse their passions. And the shocking news! A banned book will create an opposite effect of what its critics want. Now, a new type of interest will be created and the readers would want to know what is in the contents fully. The banned book may even may go on to become the bestseller.

Hunter Biden, What a guy!!!

Hunter Biden has quite a story.

The Wall Street Journal reported in October of 2014 that the Vice President’s son, Hunter Biden, was released from the Navy for cocaine use.

There was no stopping the Biden’s however. A couple months later, young Biden was on the Board of the largest gas and oil company in the Ukraine making $50,000 a month, an exorbitant amount for a Board member at any company. According to Business Insider –

In April 2014, Biden’s son Hunter joined the board of Burisma Holdings. Hunter served on the board until early 2019.
At the time, a news release from the company said Hunter would be “in charge of the Holdings’ legal unit and will provide support for the Company among international organizations.”
Hunter told the New York Times that the news release was not accurate and he was never in charge of the company’s legal affairs.
He joined the company about a month after Russia annexed Crimea, a cataclysmic moment that continues to put the US at odds with Russia and is linked to ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.
During his time with Burisma, Hunter reportedly received compensation up to $50,000 a month.
From the start, Hunter’s role at Burisma was criticized by ethics watchdogs as a conflict of interest for his father, who was still vice president at the time and heavily focused on pressuring Ukraine to do a better job rooting out corruption. But some ethics watchdogs at the time also said that unless there was clear evidence Hunter got the job to influence US foreign policy then there was no cause for concern.
His hiring by Burisma was seen as an attempt by the company to bolster its image and the perception it had strong ties to the US as the world vilified Russia for its annexation of Crimea, the Times reported.
Yoshiko M. Herrera, a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an an expert on Russia and Eurasia, told The Washington Post: “I think there is a conflict of interest even if it doesn’t break any laws. It’s a big deal. It’s the vice president, who is the point person of the Obama administration’s policy on Ukraine, and his son is suddenly hired to be a director on the board of Ukraine’s largest private gas producer.”
With that said, Hunter has never been accused of wrongdoing regarding his work with Burisma.
Hunter also said he only had one brief conversation with his father about Burisma which did not go into substantive details about the deal. Joe Biden has said he learned about his son’s role at the company from news reports.
Hunter Biden’s ex says he spent all of their money on prostitutes and drugs.

And he left his wife for an affair with his deceased brother’s wife.

What a guy! And this is only part of his story.

Your First Impressions

First impressions are never wrong, or so some people believe. I’m inclined to disagree, because we seldom get the opportunity to test our fist impressions and very often we confuse something else with first impressions.roll eyes

It takes about one tenth of a second to form a first impression and it is formed when we lay eyes on a stranger for the first time. It is based on visual appearance only and is a simple like or a dislike. When you instantly dislike the person, it is because your brain associates his looks with something or somebody that you already dislike. The same applies to those that you take an immediate liking to.thumbs up thumbs down

More than often, the stranger will walk on and you may never see him again. Those first impressions based on a fleeting moment of sight will remain untested forever unless if you happen to meet again.doh

When you have the chance to observe a stranger for a while, your first impressions are vastly expanded and overridden with a new set of data. You will be able to process some of his properties like age, race, culture, language, gender, personality, facial expressions, body language, accent, posture, and voice (amongst others) to form a much more accurate image of the person.wow

But this is no longer first impressions. You had ample time to sum him up while observing his mannerism and interaction with other people. It is a calculated assessment of the person. The accuracy of such an assessment depends on the time you had to observe him and your ability to judge people, but it can be clouded by your instant like or dislike of the person, as formed when you first saw him.professor

Keep your mind open. Don’t allow first impressions, formed in a tenth of a second, to obscure the virtues and the flaws of a stranger. He may be completely different from what you first perceived.idea

Durham moving ‘full-throttle’ on Russia probe review, top federal prosecutors involved: sources

U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham is going “full throttle” with his review into the origins of the investigation into suspected Russia-Trump coordination in the 2016 election, with additional top prosecutors involved in looking at different components of the original probe, sources told Fox News.

Two sources told Fox News that Jeff Jensen, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri who was tapped by the Justice Department in February to review the case of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, is continuing to help with Durham’s investigation even after the DOJ’s move last week to drop the case against Flynn.

The sources told Fox News that interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy Shea is also assisting with components of the investigation.

“They farmed the investigation out because it is too much for Durham and he didn’t want to be distracted,” one of the sources told Fox News.

“He’s going full throttle, and they’re looking at everything,” the source told Fox News.
