the IT department

I hate this.
all this advertisement and such for IT.

I have a 5 year old daughter and newspapers, tv, street signs, the bloody clown is looking creepily everywhere.

I don't care for a f*cking bra picture or bikini shot, but all this public allowed violence is a bit much.

I find this publicity campaign going a bit over the top.
few hour movie and it is everywhere. there is too much money in this industry

Visitors

Having moved to a different country I feel very happy when my friends come to visit me. But sometimes certain ones take my breath away. A while ago I got an email from an acquaintance.
'We're looking for a cheap holiday so thought we'd visit you'
Cheap!!
I clean the house from end to end, change beds buy different shopping because you eat different to me, buy wine and soft drinks.
Then drive 2 hours to pick them from the airport and 2 hours back. Then drive them around the area sight seeing. Cook, wash up clean up after them and generally entertain, whilst still trying to do my normal life . Then back 2 hours to the airport and 2 hours back, then clean up after them.
A cheap holiday, for who?

Hurricane hitting Texas

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone in the path of Hurricane Harvey to please be safe and I am praying for the best and hoping everyone will be safe.

I am not a blogger, I just wanted to say this so people of Texas will know others around the world are wishing them the best in the face of what could be a disaster.

Praying for Texas.

The ongoing saga of the rental units....

OK, statistically, my sample size is tiny. So my whine here is anecdotal. But I'm wondering if other changes in civility, honesty, responsibility, ability to self reflect, resistance to blaming others, and so on---are part of broader societal changes, and not confined to the sensibilities of named generations. Latest lease applicant, Ivy League educated septagenarian, is breaking her current lease, perhaps with some good reasons, and expects me to ignore this high level of personal drama on her part. Her current land lord (hate this term) had a mouthful to say about her, as she did of him. And talk about pushy. NYC tree top pushy. Asking for multiple exceptions to points of tenancy clearly stated in the advert. Presented several personal references, and fully expects that this should some how obviate the non due process broken lease. But here's the kicker. After I personally said no, then comes the request to move items into storage space here, while she extracates herself, FROM THE FIX SHE GOT HERSELF INTO. Can you say Chutzpah? Maybe I am mererly evolving into an even worse picky curmudgeon. CS blggers will know. ;-). Aa.

Coming and Going

I've been doing some thinking over the last few days. I've been thinking about some
of the people that have wandered into and out of my life over the years.
And I've been thinking about some of the ones who have entered my life and have
not had the good sense yet to depart.
Some of the ones who have moved on I sincerely miss and would love to have them
back in my life.
But, here's the rub; Almost eyerybody that I know has a different perception of
themselves, so the ones that I don't want, will think they are the ones that I want, and
the ones that I want to keep will get angry and think that I want them gone, and the ones
that really annoy me will think that everything is just peachy fine and want to spend
more time with me......
How the hell do you win?

Projection, blame and the Nile. Our MOTIVES.

It's interesting to look at the life course of almost all of us humans in these regards. Seems to me to be a two fer. The really innocent young seem not to shy away from admitting that some action and it's consequences was at least part of their doing. When the books topple off the shelf, most kindergarteners may laugh, perhaps a little anxiously, when asked who dunnit. They tend, however, to admit their roles. But soon this changes, and we see the results in older folks every day..... Someone else shouldn't have placed the books where they could easily fall. Why were they so close to our play/work area anyway? Mary Jane pushed me into them. Or worst, the reflexive retort----I didn't do it. Of course, many spiritual traditions, educators, self help groups, good parents, therapists, etc. encourage us to be truthful, and to admit our places in what happens. But it goes much deeper. When things don't seem to go our way, a little honest reflection almost always shows that somehow, somewhere, something in our actions or behaviors were involved in the causal loop of how the world works. And lordy...can we ever rationalize our roles out of the loops? In the worst cases of denial, we may actually see our involvement, but spin our motives around to make ourselves believe that, if we did have a role in things, it was well intentioned! The upside here, at least for me, is that when I try to practice such self honesty, and examine my motives, the Mr. Wonderful vanishes, and I learn a little about life. Even better, I crack myself up about myself. Belly laughs. But none of us are saints. And the question is, what sorts of forces change honest little kids into self deluding adults? The troubling answers underly much of human pain and strife. Aa.

scarcasm

Many people are good at pointing figures about
who masterminds all these bombings,disguising
their acts as terrorism and to have been created from
a certain sect or region..

Okay we should look at what causes such acts
Is it commercials, money, employment or just the
Urge of killing?

And by the way who is a more terrorist than a person
that sat all his/her intelligence creating a deadly disease
called HIV/AIDS and the companies that funded a devilish
Project...
And the world goes around looking for terrorists yet this one
is just sitted enjoying his life with benefits without being
taken to courts of law to be held accountable for many deaths
he has caused.
Now this is scarsim I see.
