Is there no decency out there anymore

Hello there......
Is there no decency out there or self respect.
Am I just being old fashioned or not living with the new age.
I'm.on this site a year now and I have yet to go on a date.
For example:.... When I finally pick up the courage to give a man my private number thinking that he is the one I get heavy breathing over the phone.You can.use your own imagination what that's all about.
I'm tired now as I'm.almost 54 years old.
Where is romance gone to.....

Thank you for reading my blog

Honest profiles, and meeting the right person online

Profiles can be absolutely honest and still not tell the whole story. Example - let's call her, hmmm, Tigress? That would be appropriate grin

I am in my late 50s, obviously this is not my current photo but I think when we meet or talk on webcam you will agree the years since have been kind. I work for the Red Cross and speak 4 languages, have travelled and been politically active but that was the past. My life now is very quiet and pleasant, needing only the right man to complete it.

She does NOT have a CS profile, but this would be completely honest if she did. So far as it went.

Interested?

Meet La Tigresa, attractive with compelling green eyes, newly released from serving 23 years in prison, one year for every man she killed. She’s Idoia Lopez Riano, infamous ETA terrorist, now turned over a new leaf and starting a new life – exactly as it says, working for the Red Cross, popular with her friends, speaking 4 languages.

So who are you chatting to online, what’s their story

Love, poverty and war

99.7 of the letters I receive suggest we are to become friends. When I ask what exactly they mean, they answer: normal friends.

I don’t know your norms. I never had male friends. If you can’t fix my sewage or shift my tires, what exactly do I need you for?

From my perspective – O.Henry, please, forgive me for reformulation – but as I see it: a real friendship is to survive love, poverty and war.

If I’m so madly in love that I cannot sleep, eat, work, live… I talk only about him… will you be there for me to listen to and support? Ad infinitum? If not – you are not my friend.

If I suddenly become so poor, that I’d have to beg money for food, will you still be my friend? If not - you are not my friend.

If there’s war between our countries… are you still my friend then?

Those are my requirements to a friend.

Good news: it’s voluntarily ??

Dating & Relationship...about to give up.

New to online dating..Now, I' m beginnjng to think if it works at all.First, I came across some scammers...who say they' re looking for relationships, but, only interested in getting to know you, your personal life so they scam you.
Are there real men here ? I'm interested in foreign men for long term relationship.
I'm caring, homely, kind,sincere.

You do not meet her contact requirements

She has set her notifications that prevent communication from those in faraway lands. I send her a LIKE in hopes that she will reconsider her position and allow a message to be received from another continent. I can understand her reluctance - this person she desires should be within 50 miles or less for practical reasons - and where too would I find the money to pay for a flight (when flights resume more as they should) to get her to me or vice versa? I'm idealistic, I know, but shouldn't we believe love will find out the way? As per the following poem:

Love Will Find Out The Way

Over the mountains
And over the waves,
Under the fountains
And under the graves;
Under floods that are deepest,
Which Neptune obey,
Over rocks that are steepest,
Love will find out the way.

When there is no place
For the glow-worm to lie,
When there is no space
For receipt of a fly;
When the midge dares not venture
Lest herself fast she lay,
If Love come, he will enter
And will find out the way.

You may esteem him
A child for his might;
Or you may deem him
A coward for his flight;
But if she whom Love doth honour
Be conceal'd from the day-
Set a thousand guards upon her,
Love will find out the way.

Some think to lose him
By having him confined;
And some do suppose him,
Poor heart! to be blind;
But if ne'er so close ye wall him,
Do the best that ye may,
Blind Love, if so ye call him,
He will find out his way.

You may train the eagle
To stoop to your fist;
Or you may inveigle
The Phoenix of the east;
The lioness, you may move her
To give over her prey;
But you'll ne'er stop a lover-
He will find out the way.

If the earth it should part him,
He would gallop it o'er;
If the seas should o'erthwart him,
He would swim to the shore;
Should his Love become a swallow,
Through the air to stray,
Love will lend wings to follow,
And will find out the way.

There is no striving
To cross his intent;
There is no contriving
His plots to prevent;
But if once the message greet him
That his True Love doth stay,
If Death should come and meet him,
Love will find out the way!

Patiently and sometimes impatiently waiting for 'the one'

What can I say? Many years go by and nada. It gets really tough to keep on believing that there is that special someone out there for you. Maybe it's just not in the cards, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can be free of the whole romantic thing? Sometimes I can handle the 'loneliness' situation better than at other times. Right now, all I want to say is: 'Ahm lonely, woman! Git a move on!'
