Online dating from a male perspective

What's our priorities

Speaking for myself it's definitely not to have children or be a off the shelf dad, I have 3 adult children and a 95 year old mum. Or to get married I have had 30 + years experience and I am Agnostic. ( Look up the meaning)
I am not interested in being someone you need as a social attachment, like a hand bag or to make up for your financial mismanagement.
I would love to be with you because we both want to be together, I still believe that our s*xual chemistry is really important for both of us.
You know that feeling, in bed at night cuddling a pillow thinking What's she or he doing now. Can I jump in to the car and visit? Or are you going to turn up at 2am in your dressing gown for my company. I promise I will make you breakfast or take you to brunch. ( Not sure what you would wear to the Brunch)
You both going to a Blues concert screaming you heads of to Stairway to Heaven or really kicking out to Honky Tonk Women (my god lady I did not know you could look so sexy ) just recently saw the LAB concert in Whangarei
Doing a road trip stopping at all those amazing opp shops looking for that overlooked Bargain Jeepers it's got to be worth $200 at least and they only want $50 (lol)
Then stopping at those amazing farmers market wow huge Mussel fritters 2 for $10 and what has be the best Avocados we have ever seen.
Lots of us fill in our profile and then completely forget about it.
Well if you are wondering why we haven't contacted you back it could be because you originally put a age restriction of 3 yrs older and 20 yrs younger this is very common for women. Guys have a bit of a more narrow range, unless they are cradle snatches like me. The website's computers enforce the restrictions you applied by not allowing us to contact you. Even though you had sent a like or message we cannot reply, due to the restrictions you put in place.
I sometimes will not reply back because the language you use those not match your profile. ( You are supposed to be a English lit major yet the slang is African street slang )
I recently had a meet-up for drinks at the Judge in Whangarei on a Friday. I was stood up.
Well I found out later the lady was sitting two tables away. Her photo was 5 + years older and she was 9 kg heavier, which is a hell of a lot on a 150 to 152 cm women. She had recognised me and I had not recognised her as I had failed to ask if she was still a brunette etc, so she rightfully felt insulted.
I think she realised that I had walked right pass her because of these factors.(This why I think a meet up on video is great)

Lastly please put a current photo so both of us know what to expect and no photos that are not age appropriate. There is without doubt nothing worse than an overweight man or woman wearing clothing that is age inappropriate.
Let's have fun and look after our bodies and enjoy each other's differences.

So, What Do You Do?

Come on now! You can do better than that. You have met this gorgeous piece of female flesh at some convention, exhibition or whatever. You know nothing about each other – other than your names but you do know that there is a flicker of interest from her side. And here you are, seated with her in the cafeteria enjoying a cup of coffee or whatever and you need to break that initial awkward silence. help

Talking about work will not be a good idea. She may not like her job or she may be out of a job at the time. You should rather hope that the conversation will take off so well that it will drift back to work by itself later; or even better, at a next meeting. cheering

You want to know everything about her but you cannot keep peppering her with questions as it may leave the impression that you are inquisitive. Most of all, you want to know if she is single, but you’re not going to ask that. Get her to talk about herself. So avoid questions that can be answered with a simple ‘yes' or a ‘no’. You have to drag her out to volunteer as much as possible about herself. conversing

Avoid talking about things that could be embarrassing to her. Don’t delve into her past, her academic qualifications, etc though her childhood is ok – that is if she wants to talk about it.professor

So what do you ask? Well, you can try asking her what she enjoys doing in her spare time. If you’re lucky she won’t stop talking. And now there are so many questions you can ask with safety. Like what is her favorite evening out, her favorite food or favorite movie, or just about everything. The big thing is to pay attention to what she says and to answer her questions honestly when she starts asking.idea

Well then Romeo, if she is still not in a hurry by the time the second coffees arrive, you’re set; it will be safe to ask for her phone number. If there was somebody important in her life, she would have worked him into the conversation by then. thumbs up

But ladies, this is not just for men. Some men are very clumsy with words and need some encouragement. Nothing prevents you ladies from taking the initiative. This is the 21st century and on top of it, next year is a leap year so you can pop the question yourself.bouquet

Middle Age...

Depending on the source, the term Middle Age usually describes a person who is between 40 and 60. On another site, I made reference to a woman in her 40's as middle age and 'got jumped' by the woman's friends.

Stating the definition from several sources including 2 dictionaries didn't sway the opinions of the complainers. Folks, I didn't make this stuff up... Anyone over 40 qualifies to be called middle age. What started this off was my blog about older women and younger men. Especially when the desired range is 20 years younger than the person who is looking.

Need some math? She's 45 looking for men 25 to 40.
Unless her profile hasn't been updated in 10 years or so, those numbers were actually getting guys leaving complaints about her age range.

It's a big world... do what you want. If you believe you can attract a mate 20 years younger... go for it.

I did see another dating site was becoming a 'meat market' having a reputation as a place to make hookups, decided to change the search engine and age range so that you couldn't search or contact anyone (above or below) the range imposed by the website management. That range was something like 8 or 9 years difference. That quickly knocked out any woman looking for a Sugar Daddy or a man looking for a Sugar Mommy but there was a work around in that the user could change their age to contact people who were outside of the age restriction, allowing a middle aged woman to contact a young man... and vice versa.

Thanks for reading my blog!

"Well, it's a hot one..."

Here in NJ the high today will be 98 degree F.
That is ridiculous.
Yes, I know it gets hotter in places like Death Valley.
But, the don't call it DEATH Valley for no reason.

Nonetheless, I am headed out later to dine & dance at a swanky place.
My good neighbors are celebrating tonight.
They both retired this month. She was a teacher and he was an electrical engineer.
They are also celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary.
AND they both had birthdays this month.
They are calling it their milestones celebration.
They booked a very nice place, hired a band, and are having an all you can eat buffet
for everyone invited to celebrate.
It's a semi-formal affair.

Of course, I was invited and I am bringing a lovely young lady with me, as my guest.
Well, 44 is still young, right ? Sure. Age is relative.

Regardless, I'm getting psyched up to party hardy tonight.
Hopefully the band & food is very good tonight.
Knowing the place, I'm betting it will be.

No red flags...

I'm up early this morning... the pizza last night knocked us both out. She suggested pizza and I drove the car!
Logging on I noticed the red 'new' member flags are gone... It's only been a few days. So sad I am, so sad. I didn't really need to see a banner actually and 6 of the last 10 new profiles with photos were bogus. Going newest to oldest, we have an amateur porn star, a Russian bride, contact info on a photo, fashion model, porn star and a porn star.

The red flags are gone... crying

Until the 'newness' wears off...

I logged on this morning to see a new feature on CS.
All the new profiles are marked with a red 'New' banner on the top left corner!
Wondering how long these new profiles have to wear the 'veil of newbiehood' I got to page 34 before the banners disappeared.
That could easily be profiles created 2 weeks ago.
So, it should be no surprise when when you get hit with a 'like' or unsolicited email that the person behind the keyboard has only been here a short time.
