Now What?!

I rang a friend of mine who is a veterinarian. I told her about Lucky and his eyes. She said she could only tell after having him checked. "Just bring him to my clinic", she said.

Now.. who will catch and put Lucky in a cage?
(not to mention that I don't have any cage)

Endless selections for mates...

It used to be that women were thought to have endless selections for mates...and all they had was the tough decision on discerning who was the best one to pick. The world has changed.

Now with monogamy becoming a thing of the past...they have the less tough decision of picking the best ONES to pick.

However, that is not what this blog is about. It is about men now being in the same position as women. With men now having endless selections and also choosing the best ONES.

Now, I am not saying that is how I am...or how all women and men are....that they want to be with multiple partners. However what I am saying is, both of their available selections have dramatically increased with social media and the internet.

So...what are some of your deal breakers when looking at photos of men or of women on the internet when determining if you want to move forward and pursue a person as a potential mate or life long partner?

For me: when I see a woman post several pictures of herself in fancy restaurants and in expensive formal dining clothes...my mind automatically concludes that she is high maintenance.

or...

When I see a woman posting a picture of herself shooting a gun....that is an automatic red flag for me. I don't care that she owns and knows how to use a gun...but why post a picture of it thinking it is important for her potential mate to know that?

dunno

Those are two main ones for me that I can think of right now. What about you?

TEST FAITH OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS

Well, this is a great opportunity for all religious leaders to show their faith in God. Why don't they march in Moscow and demand an end to the war. They could carry banners stating, stop the war on Ukraine. What have they got to be frightened of? God will protect them, unless they don't really have faith in his protection or chance of an afterlife. The Pope could lead the protest. I'm sure that if their god existed then he would be very happy at this true test of faith. Would they not wish their god to be happy?

Jesus and Mary Magdellan

According to scrolls found in a cave near Iraq, and written by two disciples, Thomas and Phillip, Jesus was frequently seen with Mary M. They often embraced and kissed each other. Peter, one of the apostles, asked Jesus who his favourite disciple was. Jesus responded by saying Mary M. Peter was disappointed with this reply and told the other disciples of his frustration at this.
None of this was ever recorded in the Bible, and you can imagine why. The senior church leaders didn't like the idea of Jesus having such a relationship especially with someone who was alleged to be a prostitute( though nothing confirms she was such ).
Therefore this activity was never recorded in the book.
The behaviour of Jesus sounds more normal and what one would expect from a human being.
Mary always followed him around and was there at his crucifixion, and at his tomb.

At least, he DID know his name...

It's reported Donald Trump pleaded the fifth more than 440 times yesterday during his New York deposition. The only question he answered was his name.

Maybe he knows 'The Mob'

Always the comments are more entertaining than the news link:

"But would about Hillary's emails?" Well she was deposed for many hours around 11, answered every single question and never pleaded the 5th once.
But somehow she is still considered guilty by the republicans while saying Trump is innocent and being picked on.

Bannon and the wall...

Steve Bannon is in New York court today facing multiple charges that include conspiracy & money laundering for his work with a non-profit 'Build the Wall' that raised $25 million to build a wall on the Southern US border.
I clicked one of the links that describes construction will be on privately owned land and work started without a permit.

Sounds like an interesting event and I've got to say that Steve is a busy guy!

Troubled bridge over water...

I shouldn't laugh but a ribbon-cutting ceremony was cut short.
In Kinshasa, the capital city of Democratic Republic of Congo, a footbridge was built and the moment the ribbon was cut the bridge collapsed. It appears 8 people was more than the structure could hold.

Edit: It now appears on YouTube

The event was video taped and also appears on Twitter.

I always go to the comments for insight:

"The contract was awarded to a relative of the politician in charge of the area. The relative used shell companies owned by the politician. The actual construction cost of the bridge was a fraction of the bid submitted. The excess revenue above the actual cost is in the politician's and relative's overseas banks.

The politician is in the process of requesting bids to repair the bridge."

(maybe not true, but funny)

Riding Shotgun...

Historically, a stage coach is a horse drawn carriage from the old West that often carried passengers, mail and money (usually gold or silver) across America. Having a driver alone was too dangerous if they carried bullion, so a second person was hired as protection against attacks by bandits or (as they were called in that period) Indians.
The second person carried a shotgun (and or rifles and handguns) and sat alongside the driver. Usually, this tipped off the bandits as a lone driver carried no money.

The phrase 'Riding Shotgun' was coined as the person sitting next to the driver and still carries over into modern times... hopefully without the guns!

Nobody wanted to sit in the back seat, so when dad wanted his kids to accompany him on a trip it was a duel as to who got to sit up front. The car had a bench seat and some models were large enough to hold 3, but as we grew older and bickering occurred only one could have the position of shotgun.

The same thing happened when I was in a band and we were old enough to have a license to drive. Frank had a van that carried some of our equipment to rehearsal. If you didn't call shotgun and be the first, you had to sit on the floor of the van... without much air conditioning.

I remember Bob called "Universal Shotgun" and Jay said "Only if you'd like to be ejected from the group"

Trash or Treasure?

In condo life, if you don't arrange for your trash to be removed, it must remain near the dumpster for normal garbage collection. Someone dies and 40 years of furniture and bedding gets stacked along side of a dumpster. Sometimes, items that are in fair to good condition get recycled. It's there in the morning and an hour later it's gone, before the garbage truck passes by.
I've watched the sanitation crew load a sofa into the back and the arm comes down splitting the sofa into pieces to be consumed by the steel arm and not seen again. They usually do a quick check under cushions to see if there's cash under there... One worker said only coins... he's waiting for surprise payoff of a wad of 100's
laugh

During the night, a statue was placed in front of a dumpster near the community entrance. Badly weathered, it was obviously on display in someones back patio. When it's time to go, it's time to go and by noon, the statue disappeared!
I figured the new owner painted it with polyurethane and the statue 'lives again'

I don't know what religion/culture worshiped him, but it was important for one man's trash to become another man's treasure.

4 eyebrows... another tattoo fail

A woman in Thailand decides to have her eyebrows tattooed.
I've heard of this before. Asian women often do this because their eyebrows have thin hair. The tattoo is to darken the natural lines so they don't require daily cosmetics.
She went to a budget tattoo artist and didn't get the expected results.

The 2nd set of eyebrows were above the real ones having the appearance of 4 eyebrows. The woman complained to the artist who said he would remove them, but that didn't happen as the next day the clinic had closed down.

It's reported the woman hid away for a year until she could find another artist to fix her eyebrows... for free.

Video in Thai, but you can get the gist of what's happening.
