Our experience(s) in dating here at CS or anywhere

Maybe some of us on here have anything to share about our journey in finding the "one".

Considering all the fake profiles, scammers they are called, what truly is our chances of finding him/her on this site? Or anywhere for that matter.

I have met and found whom I thought was the one 9 years ago here. Although our distance was more than 7,000 miles apart we didn't get discouraged because what we felt from the first skype was so strong and wonderful that we didn't think of any hurdles we had to face.
Anyways I went to his place about three times and he came to my place about two times. To cut the story short, for me, it was the most interesting, adventurous and wonderful part of my life.

I read somewhere that the difficulty of meeting a real partner here isn't as easy as meeting them in family gatherings, church or the conventional and normal introduction before the web. What's with all of those mentally crazy, drug addicts, or simply players that are not who they claim they are. Married pretending to be single, and more discouraging characters which by the time you find out, has already caused you a lot of emotional roller coaster.

Well for me, I am no longer looking. I'm way past that. But meeting good friends both male or female, to me is a plus.

What about you? Please feel free to share your stories if you want. Maybe we can all learn from it.

Note: I know about six couples who have met here, still married and happy. A couple from NZ and India, From Northern Thailand and England (my best friends, he passed away , blessed his soul). From Philippines and NZ, From NY and England, From France and CH, and also our very own Mimi from Malaysia now happily living in Nebraska. The first three couples I met them 8 years ago still very happily married.

The bad effects of smoking

I know the many reasons why people smoke. I also know that the bad effects of smoking make people want to quit.

The problem is, it's not easy.

My ex husband of 18 years was a smoker when we first met. He quit because he knew I didn't want to be around smokers. After 25 years he went back to smoking. He tried so hard to quit (again) but couldn't.

Health is wealth so it's told.

Have you tried quitting? Or simply enjoy no matter what bad effects it does to your body.

Just want to have an opinion. That's allwave cheers

Being Prepared for It

Do you think being prepared for death of a dear one is easier than it happening unexpectedly? Maybe
In my experience life blindsided me in my youth 3 times from late teens to early twenties with the sudden death of my 3.5 month old son, a 29 yr. old husband and the murder of my biological mom when she was 39 yrs. (all within a 3 yr. period) Not getting into the details of the emotional. It’s as harsh as it gets but you eventually keep moving forward.

In my experience I’ve also learned that waiting on someone to die is the longest wait to endure. My Dad has had a very rewarding long life at 93 or 96, can’t remember now he is one of the living Dead. Will his eventual death hurt as the ones that blindsided me when I was younger? My guess is it won’t be as agonizing. This watching him die also lets me watch how much Mom and him still love each other. Yesterday was their 66th anniversary – WOW huh. It’s a long time to love.

I love “the Love” my folks have even though they are each other’s third marriage. I only get to experience that kind of love with a dog and it’s a wonderful love. My little dog Bella has been by my side 24/7 for 16 yrs. (she made it to 18 yrs. Old). I watched the end coming which is hard enough seeing them lose their abilities. I’ve wished many times at the end of my pets’ life they would go in their sleep but always dealt the card to make the decision when their life quality is gone.

It was a harsh goodbye. Every time I leave the house I try to grab her and in an instant the finality of the reality flashes. Heart hurts like hell but the rest of me is actually great. My mind is in constant thought of the gazillion wonderful memories to be thankful for. The pain of the loss is SO WORTH all the years of LOVE.

When we forget…

Isn’t it frustrating when you forget something? Simple things, important things, natural things, unpleasant things…and it doesn’t even have to be due to one’s aging process. Forgetting can be useful sometimes, yes; I mean, who wants to remember embarrassing, unpleasant, hurtful, negative experiences?
But WHY do we forget though? Is it because of Old age? Wealth and Privilege/Superiority complex? Hate? Belief of Entitlement? Personal choice? Medical defect? hmmm ?
When we forget simple things, we may feel frustrated, and the result of our error may be mild. We could try to avoid a repeat of the mistake by doing things to help remind ourselves (e.g. writing things down, asking someone to remind us, putting an alarm note on our phone, etc). But when we forget important things, there may be dire consequences.
When we forget that we should be loving each other, not squabbling about material things (like money, land, etc), then there’s WAR. When we forget that we are all equal (in the sight of GOD), then there’s OPPRESSION. When we forget that adults have a responsibility to guide and protect all children (as we were/should have also been guided and protected as children ourselves), then there’s ABUSE. Sadly, the list goes on…sigh
I have to remind myself of so much sometimes, that I still forget one or two things. LOL! Old age perhaps? But I don’t want to forget the important things. If respect, love and appreciation is what we want for ourselves, then we should appreciate that it’s what others would want for themselves too. So, please, let us not forget…

Blessings everyone!

Shooting birds...

This is not a gun blog.
Photos on social media are growing exponentially. We have Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest to name a few. With hundreds of millions of photos online, who is watching to see what belongs and what doesn't? I'm guessing many of these sites are using specialized image recognition software to compare photos and when it finds something in violation the photo gets deleted.

I remember a time when news media censured anyone holding up their middle finger aka 'shooting a bird' I believe most dating sites also ban members from using photos displaying the middle finger. If you are from another planet, I'll explain... that means fu*k you to the recipient of that gesture. Not a nice thing.

However, I've seen lots of Instagram models 'shooting birds' and I consider that the upmost disrespect. You're a top model at a gorgeous island doing a photo shoot and like a rapper in the alley of a ghetto you have to shoot a bird to your viewers?

Not only the model but the photographer and whoever is hosting the site must be approving that... whoever is paying for advertising lets it happen?
If it were my money and you did that stunt, I'd have Anthony (Billy Mummy) from a scene in Twilight zone turn you into a Jack-in-the-box and wish you into the cornfield.

I'm voicing my opinion as it's a total breakdown in respect. 500 thousand viewers on a models site and she flips them a bird? Do it and get banned. It's as simple as that.

Mini getaway

We were supposed to go for a 5-day trip to Breckenridge, CO but after looking at its weather forecast, we decided to go to Amana Colonies, IA instead. I was bummed coz I was really looking forward to Breckenridge and all the activities that Art and I have had planned sigh It was forecasted it’d be raining the whole time we’d be there and Art didn’t want our trip to be San Antonio 2.0 laugh
We were in San Antonio back in February and it rained during most part of our trip and it was freezing cold blues We booked our flights and hotel 4-5 months earlier thinking SA would have its best weather at that time but Mother Nature obviously had other plans for us. doh

Anyway, Amana Colonies was alright but I gotta say, not a big fan of German food…The whole time I was there having my meals, it made me miss my old country even more…blues crying

First stop- furniture shop. The only thing I was interested in was their $8,500 sofa. love I’d have to sell my son for that laugh

Next stop- Quilt shop. While Art and I were browsing the shop, pretending to be interested, my son just sat on a chair near the exit, didn’t even bother to show the least interest. very mad

Art had cherry pie which he enjoyed very much whereas my son and I shared a chocolate pie. I think I prefer Marie Callender’s Chocolate Satin pie smitten

My blessing, today my daughter was flown in rom Frisco and will drive with me back to the West Coast

Some people count their blessings based on material wealth. I guess there is nothing wrong with that really.

For me, I count my blessings with my health (very active at 67, still do 100 push up a day), but most especially the love of my children, and my friends.

I have decided to go back and live permanently in California as I am now fully retired.

I will be very close to all my children and grandchildren and live very modestly and simply. Of course, I still hope to travel the world as I am accustomed to and just smell the roses and enjoy nature which I love very much.

My youngest daughter offered to drive with me and I am more than thrilled with this adventure.

We are leaving today, it takes at least two days before we get back home. I will not be able to baby sit this blog but thanks all for your read and or comment if any.heart wings
