Last night I watched a movie I had not previously seen. It stars Jim Carrey as a man who is emotionally damaged from the ending of a short term marriage. He has essentially shut himself off from society by simply ignoring friends and new experiences.

This changes however, when he accidently runs into an old friend, who recommends that he attend the seminar of a motivational speaker. The speaker challenges him by making a covenant that he says "Yes" to ALL things he encounters. Naturally, this often leads to not only funny uncomfortable situations, but even disasterous outcomes. However, he also discovers that this can lead to enjoyable adventures, the admiration of his boss & past wife and even a new romance. As he learns to become a bit more selective in using "yes", he re-discovers love and the joy of life itself.

I give the movie 7 stars out of 10 and well worth the rental. It was not quite as good as two of Carrey's previous excellent efforts; "Liar Liar" and "Bruce Almighty", but I would certainly rank it third best of all his movies. I recommend it. Let me know what you think of it, after you've seen it.

I just don't get it.

Why do people have to be so hateful, hurtful and down right ugly?

You could be the most beautiful person in the world and your mouth can make you the ugliest.

Who has hurt you so badly that you feel the need to hurt those around you?

If we all had something nice to say to people everyday and really TRIED to speak from your heart, this world would be a better place.

I've recently been staying round a friends house and it got me thinking about things. About relationships, friends, goals in life, pretty much everything (you can tell i had alot of time on my hands and im a big thinker :P) Relationships are not the main priority in life, its the people you meet and keep with you throughout your life. So why am i putting so much pressure on myself to find someone? Im fortunate enough to have really close friends that have always been there for me. So was it just Intimate attention i was seeking? i dont know, but i do know that i appreciate people a whole lot more than i have done in the past.

Dont get me wrong, im still hoping for the girl of my dreams but i think i can safely say that now i can wait for her and (hopefully) make her feel like the only person in this world, and my own, that matters.

I think far too much for my own good :P

The disciples had to tarry until the day of Pentecost not for their own preparation only; they had to wait until the Lord was glorified historically. As soon as He was glorified, what happened? "Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." The parenthesis in John 7:39 ("For the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified") does not apply to us; the Holy Ghost has been given, the Lord is glorified; the waiting depends not on God's providence, but on our fitness.

The Holy Spirit's influence and power were at work before Pentecost, but He was not here. Immediately Our Lord was glorified in Ascension, the Holy Spirit came into this world, and He has been here ever since. We have to receive the revelation that He is here. The reception of the Holy Spirit is the maintained attitude of a believer. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive quickening life from the ascended Lord.

It is not the baptism of the Holy Ghost which changes men, but the power of the ascended Christ coming into men's lives by the Holy Ghost that changes them. We too often divorce what the New Testament never divorces. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is not an experience apart from Jesus Christ: it is the evidence of the ascended Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost does not make you think of Time or Eternity, it is one amazing glorious NOW. "This is life eternal that they might know Thee." Begin to know Him now, and finish never.

It's been complained that women should post the fat pictures...well, that is their problem area I guess... not wanting to appear too fat. However, men don't want to appear too short it seems. Women take off a few pounds and men add on a few inches, to their top heads too. It's really annoying when I meet a guy who I think is going to be 6" and I end up looking down on someone 5"10'This deception does not set a mood for happy social interaction.........

i have yet to find stimulating conversation or anything intelligent on any site i have joined- if it is not a pervert it is a looney tunes that decides to send a note my way- and i have joined and paid for these sites!! wow i muse to myself, "what is it that draws these people?" the reason this seems ironic is that any photo i put on a site will not be a skimpy bathing suit even though i could- or my body parts hanging out! sending messages to someone you like based on their profile is also a hazard- you will not get a return message yet they will stare at your profile 7 times a day- creepy anyone? being out of a 3 year relationship i am saddened to see the way things are going - it ALMOST has me wanting to go running back to that extra child that i sent out to the world.ALMOST
