if u guys realize it. the president is letting this nut case kill his own people and if we don't do anything every nation in the world including our enemies will say that america doesn't care about helping out people who are in need of help. this president is timid when it comes to helping people except if he can profit from it politically

It isnt Americas duty,or europes duty to go where we havnt been invited. The People have asked us not to enter, they say its thier war,for thier freedom. We must respect that. They have asked NATO to assist in a no fly zone, and Nato is Co-ordinating it now.

time4fun4u: He does a brilliant job,and its a pity those that dive onto this thread just to push some political agenda forward, dont realise thats not what the thread is about.
Thanks for clarifying what this thread is all about...
i beg to differ the rebels are pleading this nation for help and the present administration is avoiding them. this wll end yo as another rwanda when thousands was killed by the government. even the democrats are asking for a no fly zone and the president, secretary of state and secretary of defence is saying no. this nation has to lead the way and say heck to russia and to china. clinton did the right thing when he established a no fly zone in bosina and that dictator was held accounable for his actions. also the un won't budge on it. this is genocide people and this nation will be held accountable if it doesn't act militarily. it is time for the president to get off his butt and live up to his words. he said that the nut case in libya must go and we must help the people to topple him
Spain's Foreign Minister Trinidad Jiminez says Spain won't follow France in officially recognising Libya's rebel Transitional National Council. "Madrid recognises states not governments," he says, and such recognition had to be agreed EU-wide.
Malta is also proving cautious - Maltese Foreign Minister Tonio Borg said this afternoon that there does not appear to be a concerted EU move to grant diplomatic recognition to the rebels in Libya, thus implying that Malta would only do so if a concerted EU decision is taken in this regard.

I believe it has to be agreed across the board, otherwise the recognition carries no wieght.

I agree that some action IS required and sooner rather than later.
Just earlier BBC reported Mustafa Abdul Jalil, head of the rebel council, to have urged foreign powers to implement a no-fly zone and a no-sailing zone off the coast. Mr Abdul Jalil said they needed weapons, and called on more countries to recognise them as Libya's leaders.
The thing is I don't think that this should be a US or US-led effort but rather a United Nations intervention.

Countries as well have to stay well within the boundaries of the law.

uhhhh excuse me, U did not go there..As opposed to the former who went everywhere for what????
"We were travelling with one of the commanders who told me that all of his men were killed by pro-Gaddafi forces when they came into the town, so its pretty heavy fighting there.
A lot of them have run away, but there is a hard core of opposition fighters who are going back in to fight. There are dozens that have been killed, and many more wounded, but a lot of the bodies still remain behind in Ras Lanuf.
We actually stood on a hillock and watched the operation in progress. Pummelling by artillery, mortars, and then by the air force. And then the attack came from both the sea and the west of the town, and it was quite brutal when it came. We were told that patients in the hospital, which had already been shelled earlier, were shot. Of course there is no independent corroboration of that, but it sounded like it was pretty ugly in there."
Gaddafi's son Saif al Islam has declared in an interview that the captured Dutch crew will be released to Maltese and Greek officials in Tripoli. The crew consist of 2 men and 1 woman.
Their release comes after Dutch diplomats intervention from Malta assisted by Maltese authorities.
Some US regimes have even intentionally sacrificed American forces just in order to blame a country that they wanted to attack.
Such tactics are called False Flag attacks.
Remember the USS Liberty. The US Johnson administration and Israel conspired to sink an American ship and blame Egypt as a pretext to allow the US to enter the 6 day war and bomb Egypt.

Well yes he is here to tell us what he wants us to believe. And certainly we should all discriminate between what we choose to believe and what we reject as disinformation.
But your idea that we should avoid threads by posters whose opinions we don't agree with is frankly nonsensical.
Debate and discussion are the very heart of a forum. Especially one dealing with current events and politics.
So, sorry, but I will certainly keep responding and exposing (to the best of my ability) what I consider to be pure disinformation.
All I can say ray is prove it. Prove I have said anything untrue. So far all we've gotten from you is a lot of hot air and a sign of a delusional mind. Your rejection of these events is an insult to the people who have lost their lives...
